  • I love how intro has nothing to do with the game, outside of small relevance to the story (Hell, Skroll actually ATE the 5 Astropaths that were on the ship, then he tripped out enough to start a WAAAGH!), and yet it is still as epic.

Also, nice to see PDF (Valhalans? I don't know what you're talking about! :D) actually doing something beside well... dying.

  • Epic 40k (Space Marine) rules! This game old SSI game rules too... Just when GW was removing a lot of the Epic games depth and character (squats removed, Orks standardised, Chaos relegated) this game came out and was modelled on the classic miniatures and rules...

  • man how come i cant find any gameplay in youtube

  • @jshawn777 8 months later and I still can't! :S

  • @andy7666 someone should really make one!

  • Yeah of, it's low budget, we get it ok??

  • Comment removed

  • Whats the thing on his head?

  • That into brings back memories.

  • I remember playing this game :D

  • Wheres Death Watch when you need them? I'd hate to bother my valiant Grey Knights with such a petty "threat" as the Orks.

    If I HAVE to though...

  • what systom was this game on cus the orks are gonig to chop dem humes up warrrg

  • your taking about creatures that have to raid stuff because their to dumb to make their of stuff

  • why spend time making stuff when u can steel it

  • lol stupid orks they stole there tech from the imperium XD

  • Not true... Orks were created to be the ultimate killing machines, thus they actually know how to make basic weaponry, vehicles, etc instinctively. They don't have any idea HOW it all works but they'll still put together a makeshift bolter or bike just fine...

  • @Henners1991 orks where made by who... but still all there tech is scavanged from imperium tech as we can see from the designs :) of the weapons they use

  • They were made by the Brain Boyz:

"Orks were genetically engineered to be tough, muscular, aggressive and primitive-minded. Their technology is maintained by a caste of Oddboyz who have genetic dispositions to do well at such tasks. Indeed, the Brain Boyz were apparently able to encode information on how to build simple machinery in the genetic strands of Orks; thus Mekboyz require very little training in their function, since they understand mechanical principles at an instinctive level. "

  • @Henners1991 brain boyz beeing :-/ enyways orks can esaly be eliminated using a virus :) dont evan need to fire a bullet XD

  • Aye I've always wondered why the Imperium has never made some kind of disease to kill off the Orks... I mean they are quite advanced at germ warfare, they've made numerous bio-toxins and crud for combating the Tyranids.

I'm not really an Ork expert but I think 'Brain Boyz' is the name Orks use to refer to the Old Ones... It could be (guessing here, I should read more) that the Orks were another one of their weapons? They created the Eldar to fight the Necrons after all.

  • @Henners1991 yeah they made eldar.. and the orks they kinda wnet wrong with the orks there <.< they multiply fast that is good they have an apetite for war... but lol they would kill everyone in the galaxy there the old ones kinda messed up... shouldav made them obedient or smth like that

  • Well I have no idea about whether the Orks fought the Necrons like the Eldar did; but if the Old Ones figured organic life was going to be exterminated then they might as well make the most resilient weapon possible?

  • @Henners1991 and the dummest one ever that will in the end replace the necrons...

  • @Henners1991

Orks are a fungus that infiltrates a planet's biosphere hence why the ground has to be burned and any fungal growth burned to ash which takes decades. It took the Imperium over 20,000 years to figure the orks were a fungus and that burning the bodies was something you had to do to cut down the infestations. Tyranids adapt and can even fire back the toxins. It's very rare occurance to be able to poison a swarm fleet group and you have to do it under certain conditions.

  • Nice video man !

I still love that game. It made me discover WH:40K and the good times with the ol' reliable v2 :p

Anyway, what's the hell is saying the ork at the beginning of the intro ?

  • "Okay, humie - let's see where you was going!"

"All humies die, we go to dis place, we make good fight, it's a waaaaagh!"

  • thanks man !

  • Warhammer 40,000k Dawn of War

actually the whole controversy spread by orks none of this faction appeared to be popular

    between chaos,eldar,tau,kyron,imperial and

space marines orks taken over the popular side

    why because its "Waaagh "

  • why does orks is awosome but at the same lame and retarded Good 1.Brutal,Voilence,Pure Strenght 2.Waaagh< what ever it meant its " Waar" 3.Strong Morale when regrouping " to hell with the captians ya scarry cowards figt" 4.kick ass armor bad 1.Retarded 3. Bad at orginazing they own tactical just brute forcing 4.They only know one word "WWaaaagh" 5.poor vehicle technology but
  • You're just dissing orks cos they are better than other armies at being non specialists. What nationality are you by the way cos it isn't likely to be English

  • Now now, no racism while discussing wargames.

  • Since when has asking someone a question been racist? Obviously a racist comment wasn't detected by anyone else, so in a way you could be called the racist for thinking there was something racist about what I said.

  • It implies national chauvinism.

  • Quit gettin' mad at video games.

  • orks isnt alien actually orks is more like ancient monste lawl alien

  • More like monster alien lawl fungus.

  • aahahah true

  • lol warhammer 40k is the only game that exist early before starcraft and warcraft create i think warhammer is the founding RTS father

  • Aaah, those golden years when intro´s and cutscenes was made with live actors.

    I miss them so.

Not that CGI stuff is bad mind you, i just.. liked it better with actors.

  • Same here... Wing Commander wouldn't be the same with CG (1&2 in classic Origin-pixelstyle were awesome, but Wing Commander III took it to the next level).

Well, there is crappy CG and good CG... unfortunately there is way more crappy CG than good CG (in fact, only the Blizzard stuff is REALLY, REALLY good - the rest just... pales in comparsion)

  • What about the dawn of war opening?

  • Not quite Blizzard, but pretty close. Too bad the Orks look crap. Personally, I think it's better than the opening / trailer they did for Dawn of War 2 (even though firing up a Banshee is fun XD)

  • i agree i think the fact that cgi technology is so much more advanced it has taken the life out of watching films

  • They should go for a Battlefleet: Gothic game next. It should be done by THQ and Relic again. The movies should look like the ones in Squad Command. That would be sweet.

  • BFG would be just great, made by the Homeworld-teams we'd be in for a real treat.

  • the first game they made was rites of war i think

  • Not counting Space Crusade, and the two Space Hulk games - the first genuine WH40K game was Chaos Gate (released in '98, one year after Epic 40K FB came out). Rites of War was released in '99.

  • is this game good?

  • i have this game but in the windows xp

    it throw me out

  • You have to turn the movies off in the .ini-file. Make a blank file, call it epic.ini and use a editor to fill it with this: [Options] MusicVol=100 FX_Volume=127 MV_Volume=127 UseGrid=0 DoVideo=0 WatchAI=1 AutoSave=1 And there you go, Epic works... without Cutscenes though.
  • thanks man I CAN STILL FIGHT FOR THE EMPEROR

  • At least Final Liberation had the balls to use live actors for its cinematic sequences unlike a certain warhammer 40k RTS that comes to mind with the word "Dawn" in its name

  • Word! And honestly, I wouldn't want it any other way with Epic. The navigator and Orcs, the marines and especially the commissar look friggin' much like the real thing!

  • hey its much cooler in digital

  • Ah but I think overall Dawn was a much funner game to play.

But Epic's cut scenes are still the best thing.

  • they should have a mix of both

  • aaaah, and that cool soundtrack, the roaring sound of the bombard artillery firing *smile*

didn´t realize that I´ve missed that game so much^^

  • Amazing...

    Epic 40,000 forever!!!

  • awesome game. I can play a few of the tracks on guitar, too :D

Also, as said, there was also space crusade and space hulk and stuff way back on the amigas and C64s and stuff.

  • woohoo retro goodness when the orks had plasma guns!

Final liberation wasn't Gw's first computer game by a a long shot, the heroquest game on the C64 proabably claims that crown, although space hulk was the first pure GW computer game (no MB influence as on heroquest and sapce crusade). As for the Music is it one of boltthrower's songs? yes indeed GW used to have a pet metal band...

  • HAHAHAHA the Ork is a puppet!

  • Man this was sick

  • Xenos Scum! They will all perish under the gaze of the Emperor!

  • amen battle-brother

  • Wasn't the first Warhammer game, as stated in the description, but is an old one. There was another 40K game that didn't ever get made, it was called Dark Crusader or something and was announced at the same time as Shadow Of The Horned Rat. It was supposed to be an FPS where you were a Dark Angels lieutenant and had command of a 10 man marine squad. They made some cool props and stuff, but the game disappeared. Got the old issue of PC Review with it in at home somewhere.

  • Learn to read, it says first game set in the Warhammer EPIC 40K universe... and well, it was/is/and always will be the first Epic 40K game (and mostly likely the last, not counting NetEpic).

One could argue that the term "warhammer epic 40k" is a bit silly, as everything since the olden Space Crusade days is 40K based... but that's another topic.

  • It's a waaagh!

  • i heard this was fake they never mad it

  • What is fake? Final Liberation? That game's for real, just check it out on Mobygames.

It's part of SSIs Warhammer-Lineup, including Chaos Gate, Rites of War and well Final Liberation.

  • That was a hell of a game with awesome music!!! Do you guys know how to convert the game's music files??? (.mus). I HAVE TO HAVE THEM, PLEASE!!!!

  • Converted them with Goldwave, though Adobe Audition or Audacity are said to work even better.

  • YEAH!RETRO GAMES ALL THE WAY!

  • So that's what Orks look like in real life.

  • damn this game is fuckin awesome!! thanks for uploading this vid! :D
