  • I always thought that outer space was black..

  • is this a game or some space map editor?

  • LOL do I guess correctly? You had the same problem as me with the mouse scroll (sometimes it scrolls up when you scroll down, and vice versa). I found out it wasn't a virus but its my mouse which is jammed.

  • Best strategy game ever. Fairly laid back, good AI, and looooong matches.

  • This game is so quiet,

    no music or anything....

  • i just bought this on steam about to hours ago. i cant wait for it to finnish downloading. this game looks so AWESOME!!!!

  • Bought it on steam some days ago, one of the best games Ive played :)

  • can you choose between races? if yes, how much? :)

  • Тагил Реально Рулит И Разруливает Тагил!!!!!

  • More like ocean, wtf.

  • What up with the sounds in space, it has no atmosphere, thus there is nothing to ripple that make sounds. Lame. I know it's a game but srsly stop bending reality.

  • @tulp35000 let me ask you does that looks space to you?

  • @tulp35000 You could always turn the sound off while you play. I mean sure it isn't realistic but if it adds to the immersion in a game then I'll live with bending reality.

  • @tulp35000

1)And why dose the space ship's have to keep constant pulpulsion if their is no real friction in space..

    2) why are the ship's aerodynamic

    3) and how in the world can one be able to be still and all of a suddenly move 300,000,000 m/s with out getting MASSIVE G Force

it's a space game man. Not a space sim

  • @lee0495 Space is not empty, it's full of dark matter noob. Ship can be the least aerodynamic thing in the universe and still fly as fast as the most aerodynamic form there is in space. Normal person can't stand 5 g force if i am correct. Without gravity there isn't any g force, i may be wrong.

  • @tulp35000

I know that man. it was just a joke saying that your comment was kind of a loss of a perfectly good explanation

note when I listed some of the effects of how this game is a bit unrealistic. and said that its because its a game.

and as for G Force I'm more of talking about the massive whiplash one would feel by all of a suddenly moving at the speed of light and than stopping just a quickly

  • @lee0495 Aye man. Just so you know I'm no outer space expert and such, even less about speed of light travel, for all i know, body can't handle it unless your in hibernation and inside a water tank ( thats what i know from movies lmao, science fiction?) But i'm just saying, you wouldn't feel a thing while traveling at a speed of light, cause you either be instantly squashed or perfectly fine, cause all the "g's" would fight against the ships hull and not our weak human body.

  • @lee0495 Youd probably feel the vibration of the ships hull slicing through space. but not the g force. Assuming the ship would handle the pressure haha.

  • @tulp35000 lol ok

  • @tulp35000 yeah game would be so much better mute

  • @tulp35000 in fact, the space is not empty, there are hydrogen and dust, so yes you can listen the sounds

  • @kokeanikilator Maybe, i imagine the nuclear bomb explosion as dull as a silenced .45 bullet shot.

  • @tulp35000 I'm quite sure you haven't been in space, and therefore you can not know how it is in space. You make assumptions based on what other people, being teachers and actors, say. And those people haven't been there either. There's no proof that there can't be any sound in space (as there isn't any proof that there can be). Brining us to the conclusion that it doesn't matter if they put music in the game or not as the chance it's possible is as big as the change it isn't.

  • @miraro1 My assumptions are based on: space has no air molecules and without those, sound has a hard time conducting and moving outwards from it's source. Games must have sounds, otherwise it's just a visual.

  • eh... I'll stick to age of empires II and Command & Conquer

  • Damn im bad at this game... :'(

  • what is it the copy?

    spore

    or this game

  • looks like dark reign. the first dark reign is a really good game. plays in the same league as c&c red alert.

  • Funny name, BAD ASS game.

  • I think I will try out this game

  • Okay, i need some help:

When I'm playing a match against a computer, even if i'm always producing ships, i always get outmassed. I raid and keep scouting, but they always seem to get a massive fleet out of nowhere. Can someone help me with this?

  • @huronstone1

You sure that's not pirates raiding you?always make sure you outbid your enemy before the pirate raiding starts.Or you could be playing against an agressive AI.You can set how the AI will behave before you start the game.

  • @animeosi I always out bid the computer on Pirates, and i'm playing against a teching AI.

  • @huronstone1

Ah there's your problem.Your playing against a researcher. Is your are you making sure you don't fall behind in military researching? And do you have planet defense platforms? those help a ton.

  • @animeosi I have planet defense platforms, but the AI masses capital ships. I do two military techs for every civilian one i do.

  • @huronstone1

Do you make sure you upgrade your fleet and capital ship cap?You could try and max that out before you start to focus to much on planetary development. If that's not the problem not sure what else to say.

But you could always start a new game and make an AI partner to give an advantage or to help when needed.

  • @huronstone1 Have you checked all stars and planets? My favorite thing to do is "Turtle" Build a MEGA FLEET, and a MEGA BASE, if the game allows, I will use all the stealth I can, then when I'm ready, I overwhelm the enemy in one swoop, and I cant be destroyed while I'm massing, Because I would usually have ALOT of ships ALL THE TIME at the planet...

  • I want to play game!

  • just cracked this game open again never really gave it a try so ya its great game btw

  • thanks for the video. My friend plays a lot of this game and I wanted to see what it looks like. I like the way the guy whisper yells everything he says

  • i hate the skybox. looks like daytime in space. retarded.

  • what's your favorite faction? also, do you think the enemy the Vasari are running from is really Chuck Norris?

  • is sins of a solar empire hard to understand?

  • 1 question how do you travel betwen solar systems xD cuz im in a match and i cant get to my enemy ;P help is mouch apreciated

  • @florinapostol You have to first research the technology, then fly to the sun, and then tell your units to move to the next sun.

  • @Cdscottie thats a weird way to travel

  • @SergeantLouis72 May be weird but it does help build of defensive points.

  • thanks for awesome quality!!!!!

  • .

    LOL @ "good idea"

They could have used better voiceovers.

    -.-

  • i really really like it..who will traet me to buy that gme 4 me??hehe

  • This is cool but this is more like SHATTERED SUNS !!!!

  • I have one question about this game, do you have all the time to buld up your stuff before the battle starts, or does the battle include time management and unit buildup?

i much much prefer the style of Total War, where i can take hours working on a turn then the battle is real time and all your units go in at once (dont have to wait to build them)

    thakns in advance

  • @xBonderx this game is all in real time. So you must do your management quickly. And you could even have multiple battles at the same time at different parts of the "galaxy".

Although I love Total war, I really enjoyed this game, and its great to play on LAN with friends.

  • most of the time this game is too complex to be zoomed in enjoying battles. This is really a 2D game with 3D visuals. Mostly you will be watching everything top-down.

  • ''TIME IS RUNNING OUT!'' scared the crap out of me

  • @HomeMediaProductions shit me too!!!

  • @HomeMediaProductions i was like

who put SC sounds in here

  • The voice is very erm

    Sad.

Sounds like he needs to suck a hack,

you can picture him whispering into the mike after watching Star Wars too often.

"Luke I am Your Father, pass the cough drops cough cough cough phlegm AAAaak!"

  • is it 4 360

  • should i buy this game?

  • isn't space a little too bright? Aren't spaceships a little HUGE in comparison with planets? Isn't this game an Homeworld sucky copycat?

  • its like that EVE online but EVE has killer space graphics.

  • the game play its good and the grafic but wth??? the space its blue ???OOO

  • agree to tekkenboy95

  • Lol sound in space.

  • @noodlenate A lot of people would find a space game boring if there was no sounds, so zzaps, bzzts, wooshes and kabooms galore is the norm.

  • my friend has this game n he has a souped up computer that no game lags but this one cause of the huge fleets u can have.

  • in this game, do u have to build up your fleet before u can attack?

  • Question is this game like command conquer? like build up ure home then build space things miners and things..?

  • this game looks very interesting and my friend has been telling me a lot about it and I'm really interested. But I wanted someones opinion if its hard to learn how to play. In my case the last time I've played an RTS was Age of Mythology a looooong time ago, maybe 5 years ago. Since then I have played MMORPG, mainly WOW. So I just wanted to get an Idea of how difficult this is.

    Thank You

  • i like your gameplay and does anyone know how to find a key account for this game plzz reply

  • i hope that voice is not from the actual game... it sucks balls big time!

  • This shit looks complex... And great ;D I'll probs be getting this, have there been any expansion launches that I should know about?

  • this looks like a cross between Homeworld and Galactic Empires, which was in itself a cross between Star-Trek and Civilizations, in its depictions (assuming i got the game name right)

    am...i right?

  • It is close to a cross between Homeworld and Galactic Civilizations (I assume that's what you meant) and is even made by the same guys several of the developers who made Homeworld: Cataclysm.

  • okay, see that awesome planet in the background when the game starts? wouldn't it be sweet to land on it and build cities and wage war on ground as well as in space? I wish some game producer would combine the space warfare of this game with the city building and army recruitment in Black and White 2, the trading in the anno series (1701, 1404, etc), and the advancement of ages in Rise of Nations.

Or maybe its just too much to ask for...

  • I would personally love a game that incorporated all of that. However, being realistic with current development times and technology, I don't think it would occur for another several years at the least.

  • @Ddude4444 Star Wars Empire at war has land and space battles. The land battles aren't the best but it is a lot of fun.

  • @Cdscottie There is a Game which has Space Battles and Colonizing Planets... Check out IMPERIUM GALACTICA 2... Its a Old game but its really good...

  • @Cdscottie it exists!

star wars battlefront for DS and PSP (forgot the part of the name that comes behind it)

you can fight on ground and in sky/space and one might affect the other

  • @Cdscottie i think everyone wants that kind of game :D

  • @Cdscottie star wars empire at war did it...but it wasn't really in depth but they did do it...and it worked quite well...but imo the space battles were a lot better and the ground battles seemed more of an after thought...

  • @Cdscottie @Cdscottie star wars empire at war did it...but it wasn't really in depth but they did do it...and it worked quite well...but imo the space battles were a lot better and the ground battles seemed more of an after thought...

  • @Cdscottie did you play starwars empire at war? It has those options a bit. You can battle and build in space and al land. I would love to see that kind of game in a different theme.

  • @Cdscottie Dude you are some HARDCORE GAMERS, I can't stand this type of games, especially strategy games... I think I will go back to my "LINEAR" ego shooters XD

  • @Cdscottie sadly T.T

  • @Cdscottie Something ALMOST like that already occured, "Star Wars Empire At War", It was made years ago but has rather good graphics, even by today's standards, If that was made years ago, a game EXACTLY like ur talking about, Could be here in 1-2 years :D

  • @Ddude4444 Imperium Galactica, check it out

  • @Ddude4444 they did make it about 4-5 years ago. it was called earth and beyond. probably not exactly like you describe but it was very close.

  • @Ddude4444 star wars empire at war has space and land battles u should try that

  • @Ddude4444

Play Imperium Galactica II - It's old but it has epic gameplay ;D

  • @Ddude4444 try Star Wars Empire at War

  • @Ddude4444 they could make a game if 100 editors would combine all this and make a really realistic game the game would propably have 15gb of memory and would need 5gb ram

  • @Ddude4444 well civilization series is quite close to that or galactic empire. But I remember that a new starwars RTS let you combat on the planet, sky and space at the same time.

  • @Ddude4444

Isn't that what Spore was SUPPOSED to be? Space combat, ground combat, evolution, technical advancements? Instead we got a dumbed down piece of crap.

  • @Ddude4444 that would be awsome indeed .. but may I add 2 things ? I prefer the game building oppurtunities of anno and the kind of look of black and white 2 indeed .. but than with the new grapics ...

but your idea would be awsome ..

I sometimes want someting like this to, you are 1 person what you self like .. I would be a dark lord mage and than build somewhere middle in the land a town .. and you have to get people on your own and your person can be a RPG controlling system ..

  • @Ddude4444 great idea matey.

I'm not going to say its IMPOSSIBLE because it's possible. Hopefully there will be one like that xD

  • @Ddude4444 a game like that does exist to an extent

  • @Ddude4444

    EVE Online

    ...kinda.

  • @Ddude4444 You could try spore.

  • @Ddude4444 ya i want a game like that to

  • @Ddude4444

    Two words: Learning curve

  • @Ddude4444 uhh watch the spore 30 min trailer and youll be like wow thats awsome

then see spore now and be like

i want to car bomb the dick that fucked up that game

they want to do that but they also want to attract a bigger crowd

  • @Ddude4444

You can do that with SPORES.

  • @Ddude4444 there was a game that was released back in 2001 ish called Imperium Galactica II. It had a galactic map, empire building, colonizing planets, trade routes, it zoomed in for the space battles and you could zoom onto the surface of the planets and build your colonies. Or you could have the computer build it for you. It also had ground combat (you only had tanks, but still you could direct the battle as you saw fit) Im sure you could find a copy of it online somewhere (maybe ebay).

  • great game, many many hours wasted playing :)

Sins is also a great game as well. The space battles are better than that of Imperium.

  • @Ddude4444 thats what EVE is trying to do....the consol players will be ground forces and the PC players will command ships.

  • What is this game about?

  • It's a space-based RTS game. There's not really a campaign, since the maps themselves take hours to days (really) to complete because they're so big. You're out to conquer the galaxy, that's about how I would phrase it.

  • game take sto long 2 play it =/

  • thats what makes it fun games 2day are way 2 short longer games = more fun :D

  • 80ghz of RAM? lolwut?

  • somewhere around 500mb.

  • is it a mmorpg?

  • Nope, its an RTS... Barely, its got all the depth of a 4x strategy game. If your looking for an mmorpg in space, check EVE Online out.

  • yea but eve online is a pay per play subscription per month

and i dont even kno anyone that playes eve, so ill b paying money for a game that i have noidea how to play AND its not an easy game to learn, i tried the 14day trial

if anyone is playing eve and in an alliance or guild or whatever its called (recruiting) gimme a shout [on youtube 1st]

  • i got news for you, this game is not any easier to learn than EVE. they are both complex games that take a long time to get a clear understanding of what you're doing.

  • @mammajama7 no dude

  • There is a free demo out, and you can test your hardware like that.

  • I know for a fact that this game is good, the problem is I can't find it anywhere

  • @Moocman

I found it in some ftp but passed, don't really like the darth vader voice and the setting.

Prefer RedAlert and Tiberium Wars more.

  • @Moocman check walmart i got mine there but its around 30-50$s

  • your can get this game at EB games

  • this game won IGN PC game of the year 2008, and Ive never heard of it... hell its not even available on steam or D2D. Somethings not right here.

  • Well seeing how SoaSE is being published by Stardock, it only makes sense that they use their own digital distribution called Impulse. It wouldn't make much sense to use their competitions systems now would it? :P

  • pretty much the same as slumdog millionaire ...

I didnt even know four has a film company.

  • are there weird cosmic stuff like black hole in this game?

  • There are worm holes and dust clouds and such but no real form of a death to all black hole.

  • Why the hell is space blue. it looks retarted.

  • Because it is representing the colours of the galaxy you are in. It's really just artistic licensing to spice up the game so you aren't just staring at a black void.

  • that was a mighty decent reaction to a rather silly comment xD anyway thanks for the gameplay vid really gave me an idea to get it or not :D

  • it could be because of a nova in the area of space. normally it is black but it changes depending on the random AI generator in the game. when it comes to space this game is very accurate

  • Look at Hubble's pictures and shut the hell up.

  • @MetalheadSteven its because of stars

  • to wenzeldsouza yes its definently worth it.And it looks awesome even in the lowest graphic settings.

  • is this game worth it? i mean i enjoyed play EAW and hostile waters and EE2 , COH? so just wana know. i didnt like home world and home world 2 was pretty crap for me

  • Why is the background blue near the planet?

  • The backgrounds tend to mimic the colour of the nearby star that the planet is orbiting, you can turn this off if you want just a black background with stars however. :)

  • I cannot complete the tutorial because it wont allow me to zoom out with my mouse pad. I also cant figure out how to move

  • HAHA

  • ..me neither

  • @rbroussard1119 do you have a laptop if you do just buy a mouse and attach it too your laptop

  • I had a shit 1.60 Ghz processor and an Nvidia 8600 GT with 1.5 gigs of RAM on vista on my old computer and this played all max, 2x anti aliasing with full bloom, don't worry about the requirements much.

  • i bought it yesterday dunno how to play :d but its a good game

  • Well this game looks awesome I just wish spore followed other games like this one in the way of space combat. Spore could have worked alot more on the RTS aspect of the game i thought

  • no...

    i hope you were kidding.

  • OS: Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista

    Processor: 2.2 GHz Dual Core

RAM: 1GB Windows XP SP2 or 2GB Windows Vista

    Hard Drive: 3GB

Video Card: 256 MB 3D Video Card (GeForce 7600 / Radeon x1600 or better)

Online Multi-player: Broadband connection for internet multiplayer.

    Drive: DVD-ROM drive

    System Requirements

  • This game is awesome. Nice upload

& for all you Vista Users out there

I have 4 gigs ram for my laptop w/ vista, Vista on average is using 35 - 40% of it

for all you with Vista, 7 is even better, if you do not have a "nice" amount of ram or you have 2 gigs or so im sure vista is taking up the same % if not more SO

WHEN windows 7 comes out its gonna cut the ram% down to like 20 % so just wait all you hopefuls or just upgrade ram =P

  • or you can use a program like tweak vista and disable the crap processes lol, it sucks you have to do that but I'm not jumping to 7 just yet

  • I would like a game where I can be able to go to other planets :D

  • You can! You can make maps with thousands of planets, and you could travel to each of them, and colonize and build an army on each!

  • im looking for a not so complicated game where i can conquer and rule other planets while raging war against others. i would also like to blow planets up like earth. I have spore but..Eh, the games too cartoonish for me..

Will this game suit my interests? If not, then what are some games that can?

  • similar to Haegemonia

  • Hahaha, looks fun, to bad my stupid Vista cant run it. You should make a video showing like, all of your colonies are destroyed by your enemys, and your down to one planet (your home world) and its about to be attacked and its very well defended.

    That would be EPIC.

  • why can't your vista run it?

  • I dont know, i just know that Vistas need twice the power as other machines to run games and mine is too weak.

  • Vista takes twice the resources as other OS's. It's a memory hog. That's why I'm waiting to see if Windows 7 is more crap or if it's as good as XP. Vista was a failure.

I think I'm buying this game tomorrow, though.

  • I had that happen once, and I won lol

  • @Videogameland yea that would be aesome, but their is 1 i think it was called tecs last stand..........somethin like, but that the guy has 2 planets left and he tries to make them last so check it out

  • i just bought this game today and it is very difficult compared to other real life stradegy games, a lot to keep track of you know? i got pissed at it lol but im sure like anyother real time stradegy game it gets really fun as you go along right?

  • I agree with Cdscottie, Micromanagement isn't crucial in this game, which I really like.

  • What a fun looking game. Not.

  • You really need to play it to know if it is fun or not. If you don't like slower paced games that take a little planning then I wouldn't suggest this game. If you don't mind long games and enjoy either 4X or RTSs then I'd suggest giving it a try.

  • I didnt like this game at all, very stupid looking ships. And they all just stand and shoot, movment at all

  • I agree that they weren't as exciting as other games but think of it as Battleships in the world wars. They moved very slowly so they could be more accurate in their shots. If ironclad did change the game so that ships moved more frantically, they should allow for either research to help evade enemy fire or a have a structure where battleships had a hard time hitting frigates.

  • Homeworld 2 is better

  • I personally enjoyed Homeworld 1 and Cataclysm over this and Homeworld 2. It all really comes down to personal choice.
