this is absolutely great! Mr Munir Hussain is wonderful and goodness does he have a lot of energy or what, eh? I just hope that I have half as much as his energy when I am his age! He sounds years younger than he looks! Wonderful!! Can someone please what the first line (the alaap?) of the song is - i.e. before the actual song begins! Will be truly grateful!

This was the first song of my life which I listened and enjoyed and remembered for ever. Probably in 1957 in my primary school days a classmate used to sing this song at our primary school at chak 367 JB Jallianwala Gojra. We always called him as ,:Dila". My eyes get wet now when I remember those days. I do,nt know where that boy will be now.

This is my alltime fav. legendary Munir Hussain singing his own past film song. It was show for Mehdi Hassan. Abid Khan was compere. The legend singer Inayat Hussain Bhatti and Ghulam Ali can be seen with Mehdi Hassan in the Audience enjoying the gem of a song. It was a private show not telecasted on Tv and i wonder how u got it :) Well if u have revealed to us then kindly share the whole show as Munir sang quite a few songs in it :)

Munir Hussain sang this song originally in Film MukhRa in 1958, Song was penned by Waris Ludhiyanvi i think and Music offcourse by Rashid Attre. Song was picturised on the handsome n graceful Santosh Kumar (real name Syed Moosa Raza) with Sabiha Khanum in frame. MukhRa was a big musical blockbuster and the female version of this song was sung by Zubeda Khanum..another one of my fav alltime great singers of Pak. Both songs are available on youtube for you to enjoy :)

Nice upload... thanks, Dr. sahib for sharing. It was a memorable show "A Tribute to Mehdi Hassan" with great singers from Pakistani film industry on stage. I've this video in my collection (but have to find from many unlabeled video cassettes..!). Munir Hussain also sang Salim Raza's song "Tum jug jug jiyo Maharaj..." Mehdi Hassan sang his ghazal, Bhatti sahib sang "Chann mere Makhna..." and Masood Rana sang "Tere bina yun gharian...Dil dian lagian..." etc...

after long time am again watching this video. And am enjoying the 2nd of the 3 great voices that is resided in the heart. In my first comment one year ago I said i did not understand it full. But that same in june I translated this song, the first punjabi song translated without help, just asked some1 if it was okay. It was he said. So now again am enjoying and thanking you for this live upload, did u not find anymore of his songs?. byeee:)
