    Great song.

  • This video is posted on Facebook page called "Golden Tunes - Sound of Oldies", so if you have fb account and some time, check it, i guess you will like it :) Page is for everyone who like like warm cozy sound of evergreen music.

  • Hibbler is as smooth as extra virgin oil!

  • God bless you Mafia II.

  • "CLASSIC"

  • jazzy and bluesy... but not really I'm havin trouble classfying it into my playlist

  • Excellent post! I remember hearing this song several years ago (maybe one of many remakes probably) then like others here, i heard it in Mafia 2 and had to find it! For some reason i thought Sammy Davis Jr. did it. Thanks for posting the real McCoy. A lost American gem for sure.

  • @HeatherFeather141 Must be a strange message hidden in the coding and music of a current coputer game if it is using 1950s pop hits.

  • @BrickPa I'm sorry, what?

  • @BrickPa

    wat

  • @BrickPa Lol its set in the 1950's man. (:

  • I don't know why I thought it was a white man singing this song.

  • @Neptunz05 I'm with you on that one.

  • great song although i can't find it anywhere, truly a hidden treasure.

  • wonderful

  • A Great Singer. Was very under-rated. Where is the air play this type of artist shoould have? Shame on corporate USA. The Great American Songbook has disappeared from the USA airwaves.

  • One of the greats that time forgot as a rocknroll pioneer.

  • This was one of my favorite songs! Thanks so much for posting, now I can share with my young friends.

  • this brings back many happy family gatherings where my brother imitated AL HIBBLER and brought such happiness to our family gatherings. GETTING OLD SUCKS. HONEY

  • MY WONDERFUL BROTHER COULD IMITATE AL RIGHT DOWN TO THE VERY MUSICAL TONE. I MISS ALL OUR BARBECUE AND FAMILY GATHERINGS WHEN WE COULD SHARE THESE BEAUTIFUL SONGS WITH THOSE WE LOVED. roawlli

  • Always loved this mans voice. He could put so much into the song that the lyrics left out! So many evenings listening to him in the car on dates! The best version of Unchained Melody ever.

  • 1955, high school gym and a dance with my honey.....to Al Hibler's "After the lights go down low"!

    Can't get any better!

  • Believe it or not, this was the first song I ever learned right along with "Lulu's Back In Town."

  • Thanks a million neverknewtillnow . I knew my memory wasn't totally gone. Now if we could only come up with the artist. I thought it was either Al Hibbler or Mr B (Eckstine) but that is a long time to remember something. I loved the song.

  • If my memory serves me it was "Vaughn Monroe" (same deep baritone voice)

  • al hibbler is greatestttttttttttt. i know who wrote it still living

  • Vic Damone did it the best! Wish someone could post that.

  • Never thought I'd hear this again. Thanks Millsbrothers. I've been searching for a song, the main stanza is "Circus, Daring our love on a high trapeze, we certainly flew through the air with the greatest of ease"...... Do you by any chance remember it. It's from the same era; maybe 1950 or so. I can't even remember the popular cover. Great to hear the great Al Hibbler again.

  • Gay banners and furls lovely confusion

We were in another world a world of illusion

And as in a circus daring young love on a high trapeze

We certainly flew throufgh the air with the greatest of ease

We painted the town did it up round

    I was the clown,

    You were the laughter

    Echoing after,

    Yesterday the circus left town.

I am not sure of the vocalist

  • 1st part:

Circus life was a circus a hectic thing

The moon was a toy balloon we had on a string.

    (did not fit originally)

  • This is great. The good old days. Any chance you have "I remember you"? Maybe around 1961 or so.

Thanks for keeping Al's music alive.

  • Hey, did you notice Mr. Hibbler's "Mr. B shirt collar"? I wore one and man I was cool! Sure beats today's well dressed hip T-shirts.

  • He has a pretentious way of phrasing, but certainly has a good voice.

  • AL HIBBLER BEST LIGHTS GO DOWN LOW .HAVE ON 45 LIKE NEW DECCA LABLE.WHAT A VOICE .LIKE ALL 50 singers the best

  • RIP CUZ, you were an original

  • Whatever happened to this glorious type of music? It is mellifluous, melodious and you can hear and understand the words. Beautiful, thanks for posting!

  • so glad this is here, one of my all time favorites. thank you

  • He is just blind, not crazy. Thanks so much Al for sharing such a wonderful voice with this unique accent of love.

    Koro1955

  • I remember playing this song on the home record player when I was a kid of 7 years.

I would listen to it over and uh-uh over again! Later when I got into the radio biz with a standards and jazz format, I had a morning show and would play thisone quite a bit!

Check out his Atlantic sides too.. they were under rated..great stuff!

  • thanks mills bros....what an incredible singer...by the way i used to chat with the original mills brothers in las vegas, such fine gentlemen and there's no words to describe their unbelievable talent, they were the best for so many years...i also was friends with the great late roy hamilton who had terrific pipes...died a young man...i was mgr of a young black singer named mel dancy for a very brief time but i don't know what happened to him
