@TheVioletDobbins Physically or metaphysically? Where are we all really? Is it some waiting area between heaven or hell, or perhaps we are already there. No one can really know for sure... -John Henselmeier
@TheCupCakeKillers You are insulting someone over the way they spell favo(u)rite. You are seriously being belligerent and impolite over such an insignificant and pointless thing. You are going to die Angry and Alone if you take everything that seriously.
@joshuaorro: So? The ghosts are animated projections via the Pepper's Ghost effect in reality, whereas Jack Sparrow is played by living actor Johnny Depp. It doesn't work to have live characters that are acted by real people in a cartoon-only club. The Happy Hauntingly Hitchhiking Grim Grinning Ghosts get a free pass, because they're technically animated also.
@joshuaorro: An interesting tidbit is that whilst Pirates was itself nearing completion, the Mansion was the last ride Walt himself majorly supervised before passing away, which is ironic, given that the Mansion's story & purpose was to give fans a spooky good time with 999 Grim Grinning Ghosts!
"So really, they mushed everything together and thats what made it great."
Unfortunately, that also made it convoluted & nonsensical, meaning that it's hard to decipher any sort of story when there's so many takes on what might've happened, never mind the two different brides (shy, quite "Emily" with her mysterious hearbeat & axe-weilding insan-o Constance).
But that's one of the many tall tales about the cursed house, with another being "Nupital Doom", involving sea pirate, Captain Blood, & Prasilla (the precursor to Emily) being told, ironically, BY Constance's voice actress.
@ajkl27: No. GGG is The Haunted Mansion's official theme song, with Phineas (portly), Ezra (thin), and Gus (bearded)--collectively, The Hitchhiking Ghosts--as mascots,
That must have been amusing. I bet Mickey is going to go back stage and tell Pete to put some clothes on and that no one wants to see his small penis, lol.
@SuperMarkerComicBro: I prefer the original, honestly. I'm already miffed at the joke they dare call the 2003 film and the fact that Bleeding Heart Bride, Emily--whose tragedy was more compelling--has been replaced by Black Widow Bride, Constance (possibly the wife of the returning Hatbox Ghost, rumored to be the father of our Ghost Host, Master Gracey).
The 0:43 background/wallpaper was originally designed by Rolly Crump in the 1960s when the Mansion was being built. Other references in this cartoon include "The Skeleton Dance" (1929) and the cartoony ghosts from "Trick or Treat" (1952).
@TocinemathsKalh Because he hated working for Disney. He was horrible at animating, he didn't much care for the people and the only reason he ever wanted to work for Disney was because he thought it would be an easy job.
@pokemaniac92711 Much more than a cameo. With the sole exception of the attic wedding sequence, the entire attraction has always played this theme in dozens of different variations.
I like the fact they did this song in the show; Its one of the most underrated songs of Disney. Bittersweet however; because the hitchhiking ghosts were drawn to be kid friendly, and are much creepier and scarier looking on the disney ride.

Not happy with this, Constance enlisted the aid of seer Madame Leota and they made sure Emily was out of the way. Edward then hung himself out of greif. Nevertheless, Emily's persistant heartbeat can still be heard, detailing her presence.
@TherealRNO No no that's only partially true. See Emily, the bleeding heart bride was Edward Gracey's second wife and actually his second cousin. Leota was hired by Gracey in an attempt to get closer to his long deceased father. Leota, jealous of Emily for taking Gracey away from her locked her in a trunk in the attic where she died of asphyxiation. Constance, the heartless bride or black widow bride was Graceys thrid wife and Leota killed her too.
@TheOtakunreview: But the Master committed suicide over Emily death, so Connie couldn't have beheaded him, making her actually seem to be the wife of The Hatbox Ghost, whom this reboot is meant to feature. By proxy, that makes her Yancey's wife, George's mother-to-be, and Emily's future mother-in-law.
@TherealRNO (Continued) When Gracey found out that Leota was the one killing his wives (and visitors to the mansion) he confronted her and she cast a spell to trap him in her cyrstal ball. Gracey escaped to the attic and hung himself to escape the spell which in turn backfired and trapped Leota in her own ball.
@NaiTaiDai: I was answering another, who thought Emily was Constance.
Gus was insane, and so has a chain ball attached to keep him grounded. He was done in via the Mansion's curse when he went after one of the guests. Phineas was said to be a ex-circus member who was crushed on literally by the Bearded Lady. Ezra met his end trying to halt Madame Leota's plan to have Master Gracey for herself. I wonder how The Hat Box Ghost falls into the story though, since he is present for the song, too.
@TherealRNO You got Gus right but the story is that Gus was a paitent t a mental institution and Ezra and Phineous were his friends there. Leota demanded that anyone who shared blood with George be broguht to the mansion and so Edward had Gus and his friends transfered to the mansion. Gus was the one who killed the entire opera in the backyard but soon drowned in the well. Ezra is the skeleton and he was crushed by a circus carnie fat lady because he loved big women.<c>
@TherealRNO <c> Phineas was a snake oils sales man who believed his product made you goregous and he got poisoned from drinking too much of his own elixer. The Hat Box ghost or Yancey was the mansions butler when George Gracey owned the mansion. Before driving an axe into the skull of her husband, Mrs. Gracey, Edward's mother, chopped Yancey's head off and stuck it in a hat box and threw his body in the river. Se then murdered George Gracey and her portrait still hangs in Gracey's Gallery.
@mokana713: That's because Bleeding Heart Bride Emily & Black Widow Bride Constance have divergent stories & Emily has more than one tale tell about how she died.
@mokana713: Phantom Manor is the only one with a solid story, but that's because of the two different takes on the Mansion. Claude Coats wanted it shockingly scary & Marc Davis wanted it funny in a campy way. So to appease both sides, both approaches were incorporated, with the first half being Coats' model up until after the attic & then everything from the graveyard on was Davis' model. The theme (Grim Grinning Ghosts [The Screaming Song]) itself lends to the mixing of concepts, as well.
i know about the two sides... it also went through many concepts... nautical themed, a museum of odd things, a walk through ride featuring disney characters, etc, etc. So really, they mushed everything together and thats what made it great.
@TheOtakunreview: And Constance COULD BE Yancey's wife, making "Ghost Host" Master George Gracey her son and "Bleeding Heart Bride" Emily her daughter-in-law, and since Constance was hatching-ly evil and Leota was devious and jealous over the Master's affairs, they probably sought to do Emily in.
@TheOtakunreview: So MAYBE Connie IS Mrs. Gracey (George Senior), mother of Master Gracey, master of the Mansion (and by proxy, according to many fans, The Ghost Host), & thereby, mother-in-law to Master Gracey's mistress (Lillian, a tight-rope walker who fell into a gator pit) & "Emily", the predating Beating Heart Bride, seeing as Yancey--aka ol' Hatbox--is said to return following this new film.
@TherealRNO I like what all of you are doing, adding to the story. But I just need to know, where did you guys get all these different stories from, because I want in. All of you telling different stories are really giving the Mansion, so much more character. Thanks for adding more to the mystery.
@copperkiddo: Most of these stories--a majority of which are just tall tales told by the Imagineeers and Cast Members who worked on or at the attraction over various years (including Connie's own VA, who relayed one of Emily's various stories in the recorded "Nuptial Doom")--can be found at fansite doombuggies[dot]com, in the alternate reality comic book by Roman Dirge, or as per the extensive book by Jeff Baham (The Unofficial History of Disney's Haunted Mansion) at a price of $14.99.
@KDay5161: It was Emily, the original Bleeding Heart Bride. She originally lacked a face until she was repositioned. Her heartbeat can still be heard in the Mansion, but Constance is in her place, brandishing her axe.
@NaiTaiDai: Gus was insane, so he had a chain ball wrapped around him to keep him grounded. He was done in through the Mansion's haunted curse when he went after one of the guests. Phineas was said to be a ex-circus member who was crushed on literally by the Bearded Lady. The skinny one met his end trying to interfere in Madame Leota's plan to get Master Gracy for herself. In fact, it was Leota who did in most of Gracy's female consorts, including Emily, the original bride.
@NaiTaiDai: Continuing, Master Gracy unearthed Leota's trickery, trapping her into her own crystal ball. Distraught over his disasterous luck, Master Gracy hung himself. The newest bride that Master Gracy has taken in--thanks to Emily's "mysterious disappearance" (i.e. Constance probably scared her into hiding)--has her sights set on making the Mansion hers, even at the expense of Master Gracy and the other 999 no-longer-happy haunts.

@TherealRNO
well its fanon the phantom manor has a canon story
mokana713 6 months ago
@mokana713: Phantom Manor is the only one with a solid story, but that's because of the two different takes on the Mansion. Claude Coats wanted it shockingly scary & Marc Davis wanted it funny in a campy way. So to appease both sides, both approaches were incorporated, with the first half being Coats' model up until after the attic & then everything from the graveyard on was Davis' model. The theme (Grim Grinning Ghosts [The Screaming Song]) itself lends to the mixing of concepts, as well.

@TherealRNO
i know about the two sides... it also went through many concepts... nautical themed, a museum of odd things, a walk through ride featuring disney characters, etc, etc.

TherealRNO 7 months ago

Is the supposed to be Constance @ 1:08???
KDay5161 1 year ago
@KDay5161: It was Emily, the original Bleeding Heart Bride. She originally lacked a face until she was repositioned. Her heartbeat can still be heard in the Mansion, but Constance is in her place, brandishing her axe.

@TherealRNO I heard the original story of the Bleeding Heart Bride and it was terrifying. The story is here on youtube.

Ya know, I always wondered if Pete is now meant to be a manx cat due to his lack of a tail.

What's the story behind the hitchhikers?
NaiTaiDai 1 year ago
@NaiTaiDai: Gus was insane, so he had a chain ball wrapped around him to keep him grounded. He was done in through the Mansion's haunted curse when he went after one of the guests. Phineas was said to be a ex-circus member who was crushed on literally by the Bearded Lady. The skinny one met his end trying to interfere in Madame Leota's plan to get Master Gracy for herself. In fact, it was Leota who did in most of Gracy's female consorts, including Emily, the original bride.
TherealRNO 1 year ago
@NaiTaiDai: Continuing, Master Gracy unearthed Leota's trickery, trapping her into her own crystal ball. Distraught over his disasterous luck, Master Gracy hung himself. The newest bride that Master Gracy has taken in--thanks to Emily's "mysterious disappearance" (i.e. Constance probably scared her into hiding)--has her sights set on making the Mansion hers, even at the expense of Master Gracy and the other 999 no-longer-happy haunts.
