The best tank of this period was the Cruiser 6 Crusader Mark 3, which they ignore here. It was equipped with the potent 6 pounder anti-tank gun, which was perfectly capable of dealing with the most numerous Nazi tanks (Panzer 3 etc.) and its armour was not far off the Panzer 3 either. Plus it was faster and so goddamn SEXY looking.

@78peterlein Cause majority of the explosion is done after the model animation, cause particle animation in modelling program will extended the time for a short scene rendering. Bad when you are on a tight schedule to finish a 45 minute documentary that depends majority in CG, yeah it look bad cause its less time consuming to implement a 2D explosion, which not depend on particle.

Season 2, for the first time implement some scene with particle explosion, but some still use 2d to save cost :P

MONTY vs. ROMMEL: Rommel was bold and daring, and would try very ballsy strategies looking to exploit holes, which helped him most of the time. Monty was very organized, steady, orthodox, and would never allow a hole in his line. His military strategy was an unflankable, uncrackable wall of death that would slowly steamroll towards the Germans. And the German supply lines being choked out by the British navy combined with Montys "steamrolling wall of death" made it impossible for Rommel to win.

@xxDrGrinchxx Yeah thats true, but it wasnt a big screw up. It was an overall gain. But for legends like Monty it was a screw up. He gave in to the American pressure of "be more bold" which he shouldntve, because thats just not his style. His style is the indestructable, British "Steamrolling Wall of Death" Yeah they tried to make Patton more like Monty, and tried to make Monty more like Patton. But i say "Let Monty be Monty, let Patton be Patton.

Rommel was opportunist!!It is clear that Montgomery overcame him in skills and strategic understanding. Even blind can see how this battle would end! Montgomery was a genius military strategist, Rommel was just a commander with good luck, no wonder Hitler ordered Rommel to be executed after the El Alamein catastrophy!!

@magemaatikko your a dumbs rommel was executed after d-day for plotting to kill hitler and rommel was a tactician good with small situations, forming defences and launching attacks not the big picture thats why Von Runstedt was in command of the west and rommel was in charge of the atlantic wall, Hilter also was tactician so favoured rommel

@magemaatikko He was not executed for his defeat at El Alamien, in fact High Command hastily recalled him back to safety despite Rommel protest of leaving his Panzer Army Africa behind. He was forced to commit suicide when he was discovered to be part of Hitler assassination plot.

In fact during early WWII, he demonstrated his superior tactical skill, he and Gudarian are the only Commander that successfully overrun the Meuse front, and his panzer division was part of a far larger army.

@JimbobHarrigan1984 In a way thats true, but if Rommel had defeated the Brits in Egypt, there would be nothing to stop Rommel from capturing the Suez Canal and cutting off the supply line to the British Forces fighting against the Japanese, and also seizing the Massive Oil Fields of the Middle East.

i watched a documentary about Rommel.

And to claim that "Monty" was better in every way is foolish. Rommel didnt get tanks from Hitler. in north africa the german supply was awfully organized. That was the problem.

@MarsImperator2 Hardly if you look at all the tatics the monty used after africa was far better than rommel in the desert , Thats all hes remembered for the desert, Monty was the brain behind Operation Market Garden, Monty also had the first british tanks cross the rhine. In the bigger picture Monty was better.

rommel was one of the best commanders ever. The only person who I say ever matched him was patton. at El Alimein rommel wasn't there because he got a sickness in the desert and had to go to germany and the person he left in charge had a heart attack on the 1st day of the british attack.

Rommel was an excellent Division Commander with a real feel for armored warfare, but Guderian outshone him.

I don't know about you, but Rommel was a genius in military strategy. His superior may be a total lunatic, but Rommel conducted himself with dignity and respect for everyone (even his adversaries and innocent civilians and jews). Also, I can't ignore his military prowess, and nor can my closest friends (who happen to be US Military officers)

Italy on the other hand had poor tanks army navy you name it. They lost to greece. Italy only won due to the germans helping them. They got there asses beat everywere. Thats why I say Italy was the worst force in WW2.

@ThePooppantsman Just to further your point the Italians also invaded southern France with more than 30 divisions on June 21 after the Germans had essentially conquered northern France and the Italians were forced to withdrawl with heavy casualties. Pretty pathetic really.

@ThePanzerWarMachine i'd go for the comet cruiser tank which was a medium tank later designated 'cruiser' i know it came late in the war and saw only limited action but for me it was the best med tank of ww2. just came way to late imo.

I only use the Cruiser for raiding the Enemies Suply chain just like the Stuart. i prefer the mattilda, it is slow, but very wel armored.
