Steve Perry is unique and irreplaceable, but Arnel is doing a good job. What bothers me about this is that the majority of the Filipinos who normally wouldn't have given a crap about Journey now say they like it only because Arnel is in it. That's what pisses me off. If Arnel hadn't joined Journey, all these people probably wouldn't even have a clue as to what kind of music they play or who they are. As a Journey fan of 30 years, I find all this ethnic bandwaggonerism to be very irritating.

People need to face reality. Comparing what Arnel sounds like TODAY, to what Steve sounded like 10-20 years ago is dumb. The fact is, regardless of how good Steve sounded 20-30 years ago, we have no idea if he can still sing like that today. So to say you think Steve should be in the lead now, and can sing better is unproven at best.
We attended the Washington,DC concert with Arnel and witnessed how much the audience was Blown away!!!Arnel definitely has talent and is such a beautiful person inside and out. Yes, Steve Perry was great but Arnel can sing his songs well with honor. He is not trying to be SP but to add to Journey with his unique outstanding tenor voice. People have the tendency to compare a prime SP voice to AP's who's now 40 yrs old. That's not a valid comparison. If you really want to compare, you at least have to listen to AP when he was in his 20s and 30s. Personally, I don't find much of a difference. SP was good, but not miles ahead of AP. Go do a search on youtube for "Arnel Pineda - AMO - 1988" and have a listen.

perry sang for journey for only 8 years not 11yrs. in between the 11 yrs. he was on and off. he joined journey in 1977 then went solo in 1982, rejoined with journey in 1985 then left again in 1987 but rejoined journey again in 1995 and in 1996 he said he injured his hips from hiking stalling the band's tour plan until 1998 because he refused to undergo a faked hip replacement surgery. what a liar perry is.

Steve Perry is unique and irreplaceable, but Arnel is doing a good job. What bothers me about this is that the majority of the Filipinos who normally wouldn't have given a crap about Journey now say they like it only because Arnel is in it. That's what pisses me off. If Arnel hadn't joined Journey, all these people probably wouldn't even have a clue as to what kind of music they play or who they are. As a Journey fan of 30 years, I find all this ethnic bandwaggonerism to be very irritating.

People need to face reality. Comparing what Arnel sounds like TODAY, to what Steve sounded like 10-20 years ago is dumb. The fact is, regardless of how good Steve sounded 20-30 years ago, we have no idea if he can still sing like that today. So to say you think Steve should be in the lead now, and can sing better is unproven at best.

We attended the Washington,DC concert with Arnel and witnessed how much the audience was Blown away!!!Arnel definitely has talent and is such a beautiful person inside and out. Yes, Steve Perry was great but Arnel can sing his songs well with honor. He is not trying to be SP but to add to Journey with his unique outstanding tenor voice. People have the tendency to compare a prime SP voice to AP's who's now 40 yrs old. That's not a valid comparison. If you really want to compare, you at least have to listen to AP when he was in his 20s and 30s. Personally, I don't find much of a difference. SP was good, but not miles ahead of AP. Go do a search on youtube for "Arnel Pineda - AMO - 1988" and have a listen.

Perry is the best BUT he has chosen to isolate himself from the rest of the music world,the reason being he has lost his ability to sing like he once could, This is the reason why he has not put out ANY new material in a long time, if you find the video of him singing Don't stop believing with the Cubs you will see what i mean, he sounded bad I wish he would come back and put something out but I would bet Steve Perry has sung his last song and that was years ago

Are you saying you are better than Neal Schon? he is the FOUNDER of journey, and SP is jst now history. He can't sing that high notes anymore, he can't sing like other artists like AP does. perry sang for journey for only 8 years not 11yrs. in between the 11 yrs. he was on and off. he joined journey in 1977 then went solo in 1982, rejoined with journey in 1985 then left again in 1987 but rejoined journey again in 1995 and in 1996 he said he injured his hips from hiking stalling the band's tour plan until 1998 because he refused to undergo a faked hip replacement surgery. what a liar perry is.
