I just wanted to ask, how did you fix your over supply? I have an over supply and an overactive letdown. and I am looking for some way to fix it....I guess I prefer this to wondering if I an producing enough milk...
You are such a wonderful mama Lucy & u have made me want to BF so badly. I have 3 kids & wasnt able to BF my last two. (I didnt even know about BF with my first baby which may sound odd but my family never said anything about BF) I was 15 when I had my first & only knew what my mom told me. I really want to BF my next baby but dont know if I will be able to as my milk supply was nothing with my last two babies. Do u know any tips that can make ur milk supply go up? If so please can u please lmk?
How long do you plan to nurse for? I didn't get to nurse my daughter as long as I had wanted to, it was a very odd situation, living with relatives. And she started refusing to nurse @ 4 month. But she's healthy and loved, so that's what matters. I love hearing successful BFing moms who can be encouragement to those of us who struggled.
I can't believe the negative feedback and dislikes here. I'm a breast feeding mom to a 3 month old, and it is a very hard thing to do. I'm not doing it for my benefit, but for my child's. There is no physical pleasure, only the satisfaction that I am providing the most perfectly natural food for my baby to grow healthy and strong. If it felt good don't you think every mom who could would breastfeed? Kudos to the mom in the video, I hope to breastfeed as long a I possibly can.
Well, here's the thing, I'm really not a judgemental, hostile person. I was just honestly curious about your opinions on those topics since a lot of moms that I see online who choose to do things a certain way are pretty opionated and maybe even a little biased. I don't know, maybe you've gotten some jerks on here that have told you that the things you do aren't "normal" or "right," but really like you said, who care?
So how do you feel about moms who give birth at hospitals, don't breast feed, send their children to public schools, use Pampers and/or work a 9-5 job?
@emzbinden That they birth at a hospital (which I have done) don't breastfed (which I have used formula) ,send their children to public school, use pampers (which I have done) & work a 9-5 to job... who cares? If that's what they do, that's what they do. Is it supposed to mean something? I don't get it. Are we comparing people? Is one supposed to be better than the other? R u hostile? U come across like your a judgmental, hostile, person.
As a father, I did not think there was a more beautiful sight than watching my wife breast feed my child. I had new found respect for my wife and it made me want to work harder to provide for my family.

@SweetMommy14 Breasts in todays society are only seen as sexual objects. Women have breasts to feed their child. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends breastfeeding past one year of age.

@SweetMommy14 There is nothing weird about breastfeeding for as long as she wants to, it's her choice as a mother. Breastmilk is much better for your child than fomula. FACT!
@SweetMommy14 My daughter is 6 months & im still breastfeeding her. so according to you i should quit? HOW IS IT NOT RIGHT? explain. I doubt you come up with anything.

I pumped for my son while he was in Nicu and felt like i wasn't helpless to him the day he came home we got news he had a genetic disorder where he cant process milk of any type broke my heart.
Does Peyson pull and squirm when she bites while nursing?? My baby girl has been doing that lately and I am not sure if it is related to teething. She is also drooling tons. You are my breastfeeding idol!! LOL. I hope to make it to one year with my daughter :)
Grace watched this video with me and asked if she could go play with Jacelyn ♥ i am so glad the colic/dairly intolerance seem to be getting better. That is a hard combo I know having had two coliky babies! Liam is so funny now when he nurses he get SO excited when I sit down and he knows its coming :)
Im breastfeeding my 3 week old daughter and she has Colic. I am cutting out dairy too. i know you used a hazelwood necklace on Peyson but did it help at all? Holly is really struggling with passing gas :(
Little question , when peyson nurses do you do both breast in a session or just one?? Because for my two other kids they always had enough milk with only one breast . buts i never remember with which breast to start with after.(i have no memory and sometimes the size of them dont have much of a diference)
@xxxjoelpolexxx do you only feed one breast because of the fast let down?? i have a fast let down and am concerned about my daughter just getting formilk and no hindmilk. did you find this method helpful for this??
My daughter is almost 4 months, and teething too, she has been biting me and pulling my nipple! OUCH! Do you have any suggestions to get her to stop? I've just been saying no when she does it, but she still keeps doing it!
@MelB0610 the best method that I found for when kacen went through this stage was to do a finger/knuckle test. insert & see if he tried to chew or suck. if he chewed i gave him a toy, if he sucked i nursed. this stage is when i had to pay the most attention to his cues when he nursed to not let him "play" at the breast b/c he would almost immediately bite.... soon as he was done I put up the boob.

@xxxjoelpolexxx That is a great idea, I am definitely going to try that! She usually bites about 8-10 minutes in, but I don't know if she is done? Should I put her back on the breast after she chews for a bit?
@MelB0610 If ur not sure if shes done or not do the finger/knuckle test ;) rather get ur finger bite then ur nipple right? I always did the finger test before putting him to the breast. if u aren't sure to put her back try the finger'knuckle ;)

@NaturallyThriftyMom I haven't signed back on yet. I got one which is when I immediately sent one in return. I sent it back to you b4 I even downloaded the one you sent, lol. I'll sign on to my mail now & check ;)
Ahh i wish i had the over supply problem! My 6 week old daughter never gets enough from me we are really struggling, even when i pump to hopefully increase supply it takes me an hour to get a little over 3oz! Ur so lucky to have all that milk :-) x
i didn't know kacen was going that long between nursings! but i bet it's nice just to be nursing one baby. henry is nursing every day to every other day! and 4 months ago he was only nursing once a week.
I wished I made that much milk in the beginning, I made only enough for just my daughter to nurse. I know that's good, but I wished I made some to have extra, I never got much extra. We used a pacifier which is why I didn't make as much as I could.I am still nursing my daughter at 20 months this coming month, wanting to make it to 2 :-) Thanks for the update!
Wow, you produce a lot of milk!! I wish I produced that much. :( My daughter is 1 month old, and she's now getting formula because my supply went way down and I wasn't producing anything :( It makes me so sad because I wanted to breast feed her until she was 1. But now that's not happening.
@LeReveAble It has it's upsides but it definitely has it's downfalls too :( For the most part it's supply by demand & since we don't bottle feed, supplement nor do we use pacifiers my boobs are used a lot so it causes for a huge supply....I get used as a pacifier during naps, boo boo's, bedtime, comfort in general, and when they are hungry it's me & only me. My boobs have a high demand so they tend to have a high supply in return as it's supply by demand.
@LeReveAble she's only 4 weeks old, that is early to tell that you have low supply. What makes you think that you have low supply? Maybe baby was growth spurt and cluster feeding, which makes you think baby is not getting enough, but it's not true.

they will be allergic to its just the dairy itself. And that the breast milk wont change. I was just wondering if that was true then why do so many breast feeding mothers cut out dairy from their diet...
Hey Lucy I was just wondering, with you breastfeeding and your babies having a dairy intolerance, why would you have to cut our dairy out of your diet? I am pregnant with my second son and my husband is allergic to milk. Not intolerant he just gets a runny nose when he drinks it. Well I asked my nurse about it and having to cut dairy out and she talked to some ladies at a breastfeeding clinic and they said it shouldnt matter whether you eat dairy or not. She said its not the breast milk (cont)
@yummymummy306 They are NOT allergic to the breast milk but to the DAIRY that is true. What a breastfeeding Mom consumes (drinks, medicine, foods) the breastfeeding child consumes via breastmilk. A LOT of breastfeeding babies have a dairy intolerance so their stomachs are sensitive to what their Mommy's are consuming (dairy) so you tend to have to cut it out. It can make them gassy, fussy, spit up a lot, green poops, etc.
my lo was 15 lbs 6 oz at her 2 month check up and its been almost two weeks since that, she is huge!!! Right now she is sleeping from 8 pm to 7 am and has been doing that since she was 3 or 4 weeks old... good luck on the breastfeeding journey :-) keep us updated
You could one day (I mean like way off in the future when you've finished nursing and have no pumped breast milk left - probably at least two years) try goats milk if cows and lactose free milk are no good for Kaven and Peyson. Our son has a very mild lactose intolerance. He's okay with cows milk now I think (hopefully it stays that way), but for a while we couldn't give him any cheese except goats cheese and ... no reaction. Jaycel is such a pretty girl :)
I would have loved to do what you're doing but breastfeeding was more challenging for me Please explain to me how the body reproduces colostrum again even though you are already nursing. I think that is amazing!!! Maybe you've done a video on this already but this would be so cool to learn about.
@beyondmyfreedom Go to KellyMom's website & type in pregnant while breastfeeding. The explanation on there is WONDERFUL! Really breaks it down better than i can in this restricted comment box
I love this update and how sweet that Jace just sits there so cute! You can tell you and her will always be very close! you are such a loving mom! Hope you guys get some good sleep in the coming nights!
@bbwangeleyes nope, haven't tried it. Jace gets organic whole milk as it's her favorite. Kacen pukes anytime he drinks more than a few ounces of cows milk so we tend to stay away from it w/ him. He's fine w/ any other dairy or food that is cooked w/ cows milk in small quantities but yah haven't tried GV lac free yet
I just wanted to ask, how did you fix your over supply? I have an over supply and an overactive letdown. and I am looking for some way to fix it....I guess I prefer this to wondering if I an producing enough milk...

If Kacen can not take cows milk have you thought about trying almond milk? It's really good! I get the unsweetened vanilla kind. Or maybe even soy?

my lo was 15 lbs 6 oz at her 2 month check up and its been almost two weeks since that, she is huge!!! Right now she is sleeping from 8 pm to 7 am and has been doing that since she was 3 or 4 weeks old... good luck on the breastfeeding journey :-) keep us updated

Maybe Kacen might have to have soy milk later on when your done nursing all together.

@MissLea922 Maybe? We tried it all a year ago & he hated it all but haven't tried it since

Really breaks it down better than i can in this restricted comment box

have you tried great value lactose free milk my son can only have that one its a bit pricey but well worth it
bbwangeleyes 5 months ago
@bbwangeleyes nope, haven't tried it. Jace gets organic whole milk as it's her favorite. Kacen pukes anytime he drinks more than a few ounces of cows milk so we tend to stay away from it w/ him. He's fine w/ any other dairy or food that is cooked w/ cows milk in small quantities but yah haven't tried GV lac free yet
