Thank YOu!!!!! I made this yesterday and for my first attempt it wasn't bad at all. It tasted g0od!!! My husband said he would eat it again :) I'm determine to stop eating out! I use to eat out 4-5 days a week and now I've cut it down to only one day a week! Something strange has happened .... I use to love Mcd's cuz it was fast and cheapest take out food with the dollar menus and all but now I HATE the taste of their food! It taste like fake food!
@francineW1 Yes it does! Nothing beats homemade food! I am so happy this worked out for you. By eating at home you will save money and a lot of calories - not to mention a superior culinary experience! Thanks so much for stopping by!
@haroldsomarriba Thank you for stopping by! You can definitely add meat to this. I would cut the meat into thin strips and cook it prior to adding it to the rice. Have a great week!
@pastryparrot1 you welcome! can you show me how some chinese restaruant make these deep fried king prawns and squid in salt in chilli? ive always wondered how they made the batter so fluffy and yet crispy. do they use cornstartch? thankss
Is that like a WOk or a frying pan. Is that teflon coated? Does chinese food come out as good without using a wok ? Just wondering....I dont like the idea of using teflon coated pans
Looks very good, I'll give it a try here soon. I've been trying many different methods to find out what is the best. Problem is when I make it it's either really good or almost inedible. I may also try adding sesame seeds in
i always cook my egg first, remove from the pan, prepare the rice and then add it back at the end...i hate when the egg coats my rice and makes it sticky.
how do i prevent rice being all together and what sort of rice do i use, the rice i think i normally use for nigerian style fried rice seems different from the chinese one, plus what about chicken broth or chicken or meat? sorry i am ot much into cooking what is a skillet.
@childofconvenant A skillet is a large frying pan. Your rice is coming out sticky because you are adding too much liquid to it. I am not familiar with Nigerian style fried rice. I use a long grain rice for mine. Thank you very much for coming by.

@starknife My way of doing it is to stir the egg in a bit of milk first, then add a bit of oil where the well is in the fried rice. Comes out much more fluffy and the gross thin stuff is no more. yum :D
I never thought people would actually make a tutorial on how to cook friend rice!
(I'm not insulting)
I'm just saying that, My first dish ever made, when i was just 7 years old, was friend rice. Ofcourse, a little help from my mom. But i always push her away, since i want to cook it myself. HAHA! And, the result, My dad said it was really good. (Not sure if they're just being nice or not..) HAHA!
@JsLetsPlays you need very high heat. A jet burner and a wok is best for fried rice...if you don't have that, this little trick will help, beat an egg in a bowl and mix leftover rice with it. Make sure the rice is not hot when you mix it... the egg coating will separate the rice grain :)
@JsLetsPlays Thank you for coming by. I assume you meant the rice before you cook it? If this is so, you need to make sure you are not using too much liquid. This will render you a great rice. I have another video on how to make perfect white rice. Take care.
At last, somebody that tells you the quantities they are cooking as well as the ingredients, also like the way you added the egg. really enjoyed the video. WELL DONE.
@Azshmo Peanut oil has a much higher smoking point than vegetable oil so it is used a lot in Asian cooking which often requires a very hot pan. It also adds to the taste. If you don't have it for this recipe, go ahead and use some vegetable oil. Thanks for coming by!
I used to make tasty but mushy fried rice. Learned to cook off the liquids as much as possible before adding the rice. lol. I also cheat and used frozen soup veggies (corn, carrots, peas and green beans) but I start out with chopped onions in butter. :)
