I use to eat out 4-5 days a week and now I've cut it down to only one day a week! Something strange has happened .... I use to love Mcd's cuz it was fast and cheapest take out food with the dollar menus and all but now I HATE the taste of their food! It taste like fake food!

  • @jamiemc102 Great! I am happy you like this! Happy New Year!

  • Is that like a WOk or a frying pan. Is that teflon coated? Does chinese food come out as good without using a wok ? Just wondering....I dont like the idea of using teflon coated pans

  • @CantWeedThis That is a wok style frying pan. You can use any skillet for this. It will be fine. Thank you very much for coming by!

  • What brand/kind of rice did you use?

  • @xxx562 I used long grain rice but I do not remember the brand. Thank you for stopping by!

  • Looks very good, I'll give it a try here soon. I've been trying many different methods to find out what is the best. Problem is when I make it it's either really good or almost inedible. I may also try adding sesame seeds in

  • @12345bijan Thanks foe stopping by! Happy 2012!

  • i always cook my egg first, remove from the pan, prepare the rice and then add it back at the end...i hate when the egg coats my rice and makes it sticky.

  • EW WTF THATS NOT REAL CHINESE FRIED RICE. =______=

  • @sakura5335 Thank you Sakura5335 for watching.

  • how do i prevent rice being all together and what sort of rice do i use, the rice i think i normally use for nigerian style fried rice seems different from the chinese one, plus what about chicken broth or chicken or meat? sorry i am ot much into cooking what is a skillet.

  • @childofconvenant A skillet is a large frying pan. Your rice is coming out sticky because you are adding too much liquid to it. I am not familiar with Nigerian style fried rice. I use a long grain rice for mine. Thank you very much for coming by.

  • why is there no real chinese people showing us how to make rice.....?

  • @wakushaku LOL ikr.

  • @wakushaku Thank you for coming by and watching.

  • OMG, that's not the way to make real Chinese fried rice.

  • @TheRickzor Thank you for coming by and watching.

  • You need fried rice with ham or chicken and cook the egg before the rice so it cooks well;)

  • @papishotcooking Thanks for coming by!

  • @pastryparrot1 how do i prevent rice being all together and what sort of rice do i use, the rice i think i normally use for nigerian style fried rice seems different from the chinese one, plus what about chicken broth or chicken or meat? sorry i am ot much into cooking what is a skillet.

  • So do you steam your rice or boil it in water? And does it have to be done in a wok?

  • @elderpoet I steam the rice and, no, you do not need a wok. A large skillet will do fine. Thanks for coming by!

  • How's your dog going? LoL

  • @arieyhanz Sammy is doing fine! Thanks for coming by!

  • This is a good method. Many people mess up on how to stir in the egg correctly.

  • @starknife Thank you! I appreciate you coming by!

  • @starknife My way of doing it is to stir the egg in a bit of milk first, then add a bit of oil where the well is in the fried rice. Comes out much more fluffy and the gross thin stuff is no more. yum :D

  • put a table spoon of butter when cooking the rice hmmmm makes it the taste so nice

  • @kinstar I will try that the next time I make this! Thank you very much for coming by!

  • my mom's making fried rice right now :3 this made me SO HUNGRY...

  • @nunoyobiznis Great! I hope it is delicious!

  • @pastryparrot1 it WAS! :D she used pretty much the same method as you except she added carrots instead of scallions ^O^||3 YUMMY :D

  • Wow..

I never thought people would actually make a tutorial on how to cook friend rice!

    (I'm not insulting)

I'm just saying that, My first dish ever made, when i was just 7 years old, was friend rice. Ofcourse, a little help from my mom. But i always push her away, since i want to cook it myself. HAHA! And, the result, My dad said it was really good. (Not sure if they're just being nice or not..) HAHA!

  • @Abigal903 Thanks for coming by!

  • That looks gay

  • @KenJumba2 OK. Thank you for coming by.

  • @KenJumba2 idky but that was so funny to me. i didnt even watch the video just saw your comment.

  • @thelifeofsimon hahaha

  • fried rice is not meant to be made on normal burner, it will get sticky and wet!

  • how do i get the rice not to stick together?

  • @JsLetsPlays you need very high heat. A jet burner and a wok is best for fried rice...if you don't have that, this little trick will help, beat an egg in a bowl and mix leftover rice with it. Make sure the rice is not hot when you mix it... the egg coating will separate the rice grain :)

  • @bao12705 Thank you for coming by. I appreciate it.

  • @JsLetsPlays Thank you for coming by. I assume you meant the rice before you cook it? If this is so, you need to make sure you are not using too much liquid. This will render you a great rice. I have another video on how to make perfect white rice. Take care.

  • @animateddeath1 I agree! Thanks for coming by!

  • looks great! I'm doing this tonight and adding carrots and chicken! got a new subcriber!

  • @Intoxicatiions You are welcome! Thank you for coming by!

  • @tacs222 Thanks!

  • This is super easy and yummy!!!! I love all your recipes!! :)

  • @erinrose98 Thank you! I am happy this worked for you!

  • Was the rice you used a few days old already

  • @joeharo1 The rice I used was a day old. Thanks for coming by!

  • This looks so goooodddd....

  • @bronceado35 Thank you! I hope you give it a try!

  • Why peanut oil? Does it just provide a different flavor than vegetable oil? Thanks!

  • @Azshmo Peanut oil has a much higher smoking point than vegetable oil so it is used a lot in Asian cooking which often requires a very hot pan. It also adds to the taste. If you don't have it for this recipe, go ahead and use some vegetable oil. Thanks for coming by!

  • you made one of my favorite dishes..thanks much for the post...thumbs up

  • @HALLSYSKITCHEN My pleasure!

  • VERY GOOD VIDEO, I love this.

  • @GraphicAbility Thank you so much! I am happy you like it! Thanks for coming by!

  • @ilikethewok Thank you for coming by!

  • I used to make tasty but mushy fried rice. Learned to cook off the liquids as much as possible before adding the rice. lol. I also cheat and used frozen soup veggies (corn, carrots, peas and green beans) but I start out with chopped onions in butter. :)

    It looks wonderful, Maryann!

  • @VivianRinSC Thank you Vivian! Thanks for the tip!

  • i boil the rice the night before (or hours before making) throw it in a tupperware container and put it in the fridge, then its ready when it comes time to fry it

  • @001q2w3e Thanks so much for the tip! I use left over rice fir this so it is always refrigerated.

  • Perfect Maryann... Good Eats!

  • @gerald2003r Thanks for coming by!

  • Mmm I'm eating something similar right now! Really great way to get rid of odds and ends vegetables if you throw those in.

  • @prettyinpunk666 That is great! I love finding solutions for not throwing away food!

  • was the rice cold? when i cook fried rice, the rice is too hard to crumble and i end up with a horrible mess

  • @colonelskillz if you fry the raw rice for a little bit before you cook it in water it will seperate when cold :) hope you like the tip!

  • @colonelskillz This rice left over and was cold. Thanks for coming by!

  • @colonelskillz you could try reheating the rice or cooking the rice in the skillet by itself until it falls part. Put it aside to cook the other stuff and add it back in later. Also, you might be cooking the rice with too much water. Just some ideas. Hope that helps.
