Some songs were intended for Control Denied. In Control Denied he "just" played the guitar and Tim Aymar sang. Check it out from Metal Archives or Metalstorm if you don´t believe me.

Ripper is ok, but compared to Rob Halford and Matt Barlow there is no comparison. I don't like the Ripper era Priest or Iced earth nearly as much, but I don't think he is a bad metal vocalist either.
