  • Tango as performed today in Argentina is not the same as it was in the 1800s it has evolved, it was first called 'Tango Andaluz' because it came from Spain to B.A. & the first music calling itself tango was called 'Toma Mate, Che' in 1837. Tango from argentina is their's from Montevideo is their's & all the other varieties of tango reflect where it evolved. It didn't originate in Argentina it was taken there & evolved there to what they do there today. Elswhere it's different but it's still tango

  • the soul and passion is very hard to capture on video, to truly see it for the beautifully expressive sport it is you have to see it in person

  • I really hate competition dancing, it never has any soul. Sure they're doing the moves right but there's no passion no tension, they don't look like they're loving what they're doing.

  • @DanielDebarberat How boring that the Argentinians do nothing but denigrate and offend and insult all that is not their dance and their dancers. I am tired of their arrogance and rudeness of cavemen, they believe they have only their legs and feet hearts and feelings feel right to call other people dancing in a different way "shit" or laugh at them. The shit is just them and their bad mood and envious of evil cavemen.

  • @DanielDebarberat It must necessarily expressing lust or desire constantly emitting drool while dancing to be called 'dancers'? Then even the ballet is all shit because the dancers dance with style and do not look like they wanted to shag now or are not embraced tight cheek to cheek?

  • This is the tango of the barbarians, who bastardize other cultures, just for the fun of the empire

  • I know the difference between Ballroom and Argentine Tango. But in my quite humble opinion this dance here is nothing more but looking artificial. Even if its ballroom tango, you can show some passion. In some way it may be elegant, yeah, but the naturality is just missing.

  • @TheCutL This is International not Argentine. Different genres.

  • @TheCutL This is International not Argentine. Different genres.

  • @TheCutL This is International not Argentine.

Two different styles, genres. Lets see you try it.

  • ummm what the hell is going on with there necks

  • @tangoman6 vertebral seizures :))

  • robots on duty

  • LOL

  • The Karabey´s should have won the tango they are the best there on my opinion ! the lithuanians are not good !

  • wow...

    i love the dancing.

Also any of u seen Moulin rouge? Isnt this music like that version of roxanne?

  • yes, it is! love it! (music and dancers too)

  • yes it is!

  • It´s a verry cold dance...without love and fire...

    so i think...

  • no fire? I disagree.

  • I love Tango but sometimes you don´t feel the relationship between the dancers...

At salsa theres Magic... there you feel the love and the fire...

Tango it´s a beautifull dance but verry cold...

But the Dancers are verry good...i like them...

  • Siete Grandi Mitici e insostituibili!!!!!!

  • International Tango isn't about hot passionate love. Thats the American and Argentine styles. International style tango should be danced like you're a married couple who is staying together only for the children. When dancing this, you don't look at your partner. While these dancers do get sloppy in some parts, stylistically, they are dancing it right.

  • this was soooooooooo technical

i dont feel any connection between the dancers

    just compeditiveness

i mena they look like they are there to tore eachother appart not dance together

    no chemistry watsoeva

    i aplaude the technicality

    it was brillians

but otherwise its a no no

  • jajajajajaj whats is tha dancing?it is so funny jajajajajaj

  • pretentious crap... and should be re-named Ballroom tango style . There's no tango in there!

  • Rubbish. It's a different dance. In a ballroom comp everyone knows to expect English Tango. Personally, I find it both harder (and more interesting) than Tango Argentine

  • Congratz to these dancers.

  • che schifo!terrible!

  • This is so much better than Argen tango. The steccato beats and the drama are what make it great. Those people who prefer Argen tango, stay on your own pages and stop making stupid comments about International tango.

  • technically steccato beats and your "drama" aren't exactly foreign to the argentine tango either. in fact there's more of those there than in this dance.

  • "it's rather exaggerating"...

  • WTF is this!

She's going to hurt her back

  • too spastic for my taste

  • awful!! Nada comparado con el tango argentino, nothing compared with argentine tango.

  • no, not awful, just two different dances from two different disciplines.

  • they dance very good but i dont see the passion the love to the dance....

  • ROXANNE!!!!

  • you don't have to wear that dress tonight!

  • hahaha que ridículo. Só pode ter sido inventado por estadunidenses...

  • that looks more like walts rather than tango!!

  • Thats tango, if you can't tell this is tango then you don't know anything about ballroom so don't bother commenting.

  • most of the standard dances have mutually borrowed certain steps from each other. like that head snap thing.

  • mi fai sapre come se liama el tema per favor? grazie

  • The name is : El Tango de Roxanne , from Moulin Rouge

  • whats the name of this song?

  • a different version of roxanne by the police and soundtrack from moulin rouge.

  • horrible this is like mannequins dancing in the 80's like mr. roboto really tango make it sexy come on.... i know its competition but horrible to watch...

  • word... it looks kinda ridiculous

  • then you might want to find "argentine" tango instead... as you said it's competition... so it doesn't care much for you anyway

  • cazz qnt sn braviiii!!!

  • como se llama el tema ?

  • mi fai sapre come se liama el tema per favor? grazie

  • lindo baile y linda pareja,de tango nada

  • How silly! Why call it tango? Where does this dance really come from because it does not look anything like tango. It looks painful with that stupid head snap. Don't they feel like idiots doing this? Cant they change the name to something else like whiplash waltz danced to Argentine inspired elevator music? I like that they keep running into each other too. In Bs As, a small room could be packed with people and only the worst people bump.

  • If you don't feel idiot writing this things about an international world standard dance championships , and you prefer looking at very old man hunchbacked who walk slow and heavy in a small dirty room with a ugly b**ch hanging at his neck...are you sure that they are still alive? They don't move at all...

  • Wow you probably know as much about the English language as dance. "if you don't feel idiot." What does that even mean? Have you ever even seen Argentine tango? Geraldine Rojas is one of the most sexy women in the world! And as far as the old people who dance, they are the ones who invented tango you f**king idiot. Where do you think it came from?!!!?! Carlos Perez is 80 years old and might weigh 200 pounds but that is 200 pounds and 80 years of tango you are looking at.

  • Sei un Italiano?! Gli Italiani hanno fatto el tango argentino. Pugliese, Di Sarli, Donato, D'arienzo sono tutti Italiani. Vergonati!!!Traditore!!!

  • The most beautiful thing is to see an old Porteño walk . If they walk heavy, it is because their steps are heavy with emotion. Every step is art. Your American tango is like a joke. You are like the little child who thinks a cartoon tiger is more real than a living breathing one. I feel sorry for you. And what a thing to say that tango women are ugly? They women of Buenos Aires are the most beautiful. More beautiful than those fake orange tan lifeless things in this I see here.

  • The music kinda reminds me of "El tango de roxanne" from Moulin Rouge

  • it is that song ;)

  • well obviously, argentine tango is way better than this. but please, you don't have to get your critique on just because this is not what you liked.

and what ever happened to the word "standard" right there in your head, btw?

  • @grifhinx If i can't criticize because I don't like argentine tango, why are you criticizing the standard ballroom tango by saying 'argentine tango is better'. I mean, if I can't criticize I must advice you to make that comment into an 'I THINK' statement, because this is criticizing at best.

  • @RoflmaoPizza i obviously said "you don't HAVE TO" and not just "DON'T" if i wanted you to shut up i would've chosen the latter now, would i? but of course, everyone's got their own, so i have no choice, which is why i only recommended that it's better not to and i only gave my critique only because i have to. with that having been said, i'm still on my 1st statement that you did not manage to successfully contradict. now get it rubbed in.

  • (the entire text could not be in one comment)

The argentine tango you're refering to, has no much to do with the ballroom tango - correct. But no one is saying so. Again it's international.

It's the same deal with the international samba - that dance is also very different from the original south american samba.

So as "thahiphopdocta" say, this kind of tango is not incorrect. And people who say so, don't have a clue of what international ballroom tango is about!

  • You people are so wrong! You mix things up!

This is not perticulary "British Tango".. This is International Tango, the kind of tango they dance in competitions - and these world am. competitors are preforming it beautifully! Absolutly Brilliant - the technique is not far from perfect (of course is not the professional leage - but still)

I'm a Ballroom dancer myself - so I think I know a thing or two about ballroom dancing.

  • Que cosa tan fea.

  • Yuk. ... and it's not 'british tango' it's ballroom, and not really tango at all. The commentator has a point, I find the posture offensive too. She's going to get whiplash. Does he smell so bad that she has to lean away like that?

And they don't look where they are going so they collide with each other. Sorry, but it just looks to me like they've taken all the fun out of dancing.

  • boring

  • I'm currently ranked 2nd in the nation in International syllabus, and I can tell you that this style of Tango is well received and well respected throughout the world. Is it the "original" form of Tango? Not necessarily, but that doesn't degrade it's impact, status or grandeur. Just because it's more aggressive and powerful and passionate (in a different way) doesn't make it incorrect.

  • I really can't help disliking ballroom dancing. I dance Argentinian Tango, and find it passionate in an intimate way... this is ment for showing off. Argentinian Tango can be used for seducing, showing off, fun, ... everything, you can even dance it to other types of music. In my opinion, that makes it more valuable than the ballroom equivalent. BTW: how do you manage to lead properly with the womans left arm up high?

  • If somebody can send me by e-mail this version of "El Tango De Roxanne", please write to me!!!=)

  • This is ridiculous. Have these people ever seen real tango?

  • its like they're bloody robots.. there really wasn't anything sexy about that

  • no es tango, es muy sobreactuado ademas.

    I'm sorry i don't like

  • Hey, you should know that THAT is not tango... at all.

  • You're right when we talk about Argentinian, originla tango. That is a tango too, but it's fitted to the tournaments and it's teached in most dance studios (when You're learning 10 dances - LA and STD) . But in my opinion that don't have this Argentinian pasion, so it should be always called 'almost tango' :P

  • Besides of the lack of pasion. I can dance a waltz using tango's steps, too, but it won't be a waltz any more. This is a tango danced with waltz steps! The embrace is waltz type, the tournaround is waltz type, women's heads are as waltz is danced. Nothing from tango left over the ballroom. Tournaments of tango show tango dancers dancing stylized choreographies mixed with clasical dance BUT keeping the tango essence.

  • Yay Deutschland!!

  • Ich stimme zu!!

  • i love it. x3

  • when they move their lips, are they telling eachother the next dance move they will do?

  • nope, all part of their musical interpetation of the dance

  • The first couple you can see (63) began really great. Really musical beginning, I like that :) and I love this music.

  • ESTO NO ES TANGO, NI LA MUSICA

    por favor ver:

    watch?v=Z-VWoVjMugY&feature=related

  • Wow!!!

  • Nice!!!!!!

  • That's right what you say.

Can't you dance each dance style in peace without give annoyance each other?

Argentine tango is really a beautyful dance, as standard dances are too. Don't do like the children...

  • Just imagine, I posted a comment stating that these are great dancers though it is terribly different from a "native" tango, and I got a reply!! But I've realized something: none of this standard dances must be like the native ones! Take this into account: almost half the Argentinian population has some Italian grandparent or great grandparet, that is why you are getting this children-like arguments between them: too latino and they burst :)

  • ponganle otro nombre

  • Gringos ignorantes, ESTO NO ES TANGO.

PONGANLE OTRO NOMBRE A ESTA MIERDA!!!

  • Madyalena. The name of this tango is Tanguera and its author is Mariano Mores. A pice of this was used in the film Mouling Rouge mixed with Roxane

  • what's the name of the german couple in white? the one with only 1 vail on the girl's dress?

  • The Germans in white are Sascha and Natasha Karabey, but one with the single vail on the girl's dress is Arunas Bizokas and Edita Daniute from Lithuania

  • wich is the name of this song?

  • Who are the defending champions? They are really the best!

  • the defending champs in this video are domenico soale and gioia cerasoli (pink dress) but the champs these days are paolo bosco and silvia pitton (torquise dress with the feathers)

  • not tango at all, this is commercial 101

  • It's called "International Style Tango"

  • Argorese is correct. This is not an Argentine Tango. Jelbows2 is also correct, this is what was called International Style Tango. I'm not familiar with its current technical terminology. International Style Ballroom dancing has become quite popular around the world during the past 60 years or so. The Waltz, Fox Trot, Quick Step, and Tango are the four dances seen in most competitions. Argentine Tango does express more emotion. The International Style Tango is a schooled and technical dance.

  • Ummm, Not Tango really, That is valsroom far of the tradicional dancing. Have to had more pasion, woman and men have to be conected and dont have to take so many distance.. A lot of things are meesing.. Hope they get better by the time.

  • hahaha this is soooo funny!

We dance on this song, too (in dancing courses and girl, with I dance, sent me this song today, what a luck :)) ).

  • does anyone know the name of the musical piece? Thank you

  • Where can i find this instrumental song. I don't find this.

  • i like 63 couple but i admire them all...if u get there u have to be very strong & very in love with dance sport...so i thank them all 4 being them & for danncening for us and for theyr existence

  • Well I'm from Argentina, I understand. This can not be compared with the real thing, it's silly to compare them. This is a Ball Room Dancing style of Tango competition. Actually I'm glad that it is being practiced around the world and taken seriously.

  • any chance of uploading the semi final?

  • well i think tsugaheterophylla ment the argentino tango.. this is not the same.. (duhh).. so you CANT even compare it with eachother...!

  • i agree with jelbows2,have you ever seen a real tango before?

  • ye dont understand international tango..this is the best

  • Yuck. This is awful. The real tango isn't about clothes or organized competitions. Poor woman, it looks like her back must hurt. Plus the man and the woman are a mile apart -- what a missed opportunity.

  • how is this song called?

  • It's El tango de Roxanne from the movie Moulin Rouge. It's sung by Jacek Koman, Ewan McGregor and I think also José Feliciano - at least he's listed on the soundtrack. ^^

  • cualquieraaaa jajajaajaaaa

  • This kind of tango looks absolutely ridiculous, a parody of the real tango

  • Was für seelenlose Bewegungen,da

bekommt man keine Lust auf Tango!!

  • these are the top dancers in the world...how could you not like it...some of the best i've ever seen

  • This is ... how I should never, never dance ... This Is not a tango. I think she will brake her neck some day :-)

  • i hate it how they swing around their head everytime....

  • Youre looking at the top amateurs in the world, my friend. Id like to see you do tango like Domenico Soale.

  • the couple with the pink dress is really amazing!!

  • so passionate, so wild but so elegant at the same time! how can that be! wooow!

  • bunun gerçek tangoyla uzaktan yakından alakası yok vals den bozma amerikan tangosu..gerçek tango adımlarının inanılmaz güzel görselliğini, çok basit adımların gözü yanıltarak son derece etkileyici kombinasyonlara dönüşünü izlemek isteyenler gene burdan tango argentina yı izleyebilirler.. jorge torres de izlenmesi gereken dansçılar arasında

  • nice... i want the song !!!!!!!!!!

  • Le Tango de Roxanne - Cast with Jose Felicaino

  • this song is fantastic!

  • muhtesem muazzan baska ne denır kı

  • it's the version with the typical tango rythm.... that one from the film is soooooo hard to dance... *.* you don't hear the rythm very much.... but this version is easy dancing to. really nice choreography ^^

    thx for uploading
