@SuSiMa1lu you are so very right...reminds me of "the lamb lies down on broadway"... it's very similar...best moments of my life 5 years ago when listening to this and the first genesis albums
It is beautiful, isn't it? And yet my ignorant generation have never even heard of Peter Gabriel, with the possible exception of that weird video Sledgehammer.
His fist four albums contain some mesmerising songs; some of which have never been played on the radio. It's baffling that people like the Jonas Brothers rule the airwaves when THIS could be played instead. Real music.
@SparrowisSexy absolutely! except for the fact that today, if its not bright and flashy, it doesn't hold out. even quirky holds out better than timeless, quality-written music. it's a shame, really.
@SparrowisSexy think why the jonas bros are being mostly played, corporate wise and people wise. Musics a buisness and alot of people just want to be told what to do. it's an easy answer that I think has more to it but, it's my opinion. Anywho, SLEDGE.
How unfortunate we are to live in a generation who only give a care for Arctic Monkeys, Take That or Kings Of Leon - and generally are one-minded to the enemy of music - indie music
Someone who remembers and understands the concept of "sides" on an album ... and here I thought I was the only one left.
"Shuffles," mp3s and etc have their uses and advantages, too, but there's something to be said for listening to songs in an order that was carefully thought-out, and having an intermission between, to enjoy the silence.
Only thing I miss more than that are the 12 x 12 cover graphics that pulled you into the band's world so effectively.
This is how Genesis would have sounded on The trick of the tail if they never broke up.

Peter Gabriel has written some absolutely perfect songs.
If his music doesn't give you goose bumps you should insult a physician....

...or both.

@wajobu In addition to the Mellotron in the closing section, there's a harmonium in there too--it just adds to the fabric of sound.
