That's nice to know, I'm originally from cork and grew up in Belfast, now I live out by the Mourn Mountains in county Down. Have you ever tasted soda bread or potato bread? I'm sure you can find the recipe for them online somewhere, you have to try them they're very nice. and there's another type of bread it's called the Belfast bap, you can only get it there, it's amazing fresh when it's still warm with butter. :-)
You forgot about steaming up the oven.

Looks lovely. french bread here in N/Ireland is bread that's dipped in egg and then fried in oil.
we have garlic bread like your bread only it's sliced and cooked with the garlic butter between the slices. yum :-)
