We can see the same effects in electric wire insulation, you can touch a charged electrical wire if it is insulated properly. and why soft metals like Gold and Lead are good insulators against electromagnetic radiation. the plyability of the atoms in the soft metal deflect or absorb the current or radiation. there's nothing being created here, only reflected or absorbed. if energy was being created then the result would be exponential. this a good experiment to show this principle.
It's called magnetic shielding, Copper is a soft plyable metal, same as Gold, the magnetons are being reflected back onto the magnets by atomic flexing within the copper causing a push back effect. A magnet in a copper pipe slows down because the magnetons are pushing back against the magnetic field of the magnet. if you view it with an electron microscope you could probably see the ripples embedded within the metal itself as the magnet falls. oh, I forgot, electrons don't exist. lol.
Scotty I think there's a current induced in the Nickle jacket plating on the Neo magnet causing a Lenz effect. With ferrite magnet ...it doesn't conduct at it's surface.

same thing happens when you drop a magnet down a copper pipe, but rather then cause motion, it slows the fall due to the emf generated.
@ 0:53 The magnet itself does everything.

I wouldn't say the main magnet does nothing.

seems like this could be imparted onto leedskalnin's machine somehow
