  • Hey, in the beginning you have Scott Speed in the 83 and Brian Vickers in the 84. :P

  • You're right, racingfan1992, but if you remember from last fall, Team Red Bull had Vickers race the 84 car to try and get that team into the top 35 for Speed in 2009. Since several teams folded up in the offseason, though, this proved unncessary. Currently, Speed is out of the top 35 again and must qualify on time at Martinsville.

  • So your saying Vickers drover the 84 at Homestead? I know the Scott Speed drove the 84 at Pheonix because I remember his and Daivd Gilliands wreck.

  • Exactly. Speed made his debut at Martinsville, but he finished no better than 30th in his first four starts (through Phoenix) and Marcos Ambrose knocked him out of the top 35. It was then that Red Bull switched the drivers. IIRC, Ambrose wrecked at Homestead, putting the #84 in the top 35. Ambrose made it in, too, when the #15, #01, #41 teams folded up.

  • Ah I see. Thanks for the info.
