  • A rare, genuine contrapuntal spirit singing! Thank you for posting!

  • Beautiful!

  • Bravo! Cheers from Brazil

  • Ah, good! Duly noted, and pleased to be corrected; thank you! PS: I cannot get over your Tallis, Puer Natus Es recording - both the music and your singing are as nearly flawless as anything of this world could be. But then... (I know I've said this before elsewhere - it bears repeating.)

  • An exquisitely sensitive and feeling performance, and beautiful in sound! (Not always linked.) I shouldn't say this but can't resist: They sing Renaissance polyphony so very well, I feel it's a pity they spend so much of the rest of their time on lighter fare. There. Sorry.

  • @JoelvanLennep Thanks for your kind comments! In fact we sing almost exclusively Renaissance polyphony - only those youtube videos which include 'British vocal ensemble' in the title are ours. Do check out our channel for more videos like this, or our website or search for us on facebook for much more information. We're glad you enjoyed our singing!

  • They're coming to Jackson, MS at the end of March. I'm so there. :)

  • I wish we could find more live performances like these in South Africa. The same goes for most music performers.

  • sigh :)

heaven can wait - i'm already there.... thank you Stile Antico!

I love that the public waited for the last note to flow before they start applauding!

I couldn't follow the whole trail of conversations but wouldn't the text be Latin (or 'old' Italian) even though the composer was Flemish? It's a liturgical music that's what's pointing me to the Latin...

  • Really loving this ensemble, but the YouTube recordings are terrible. Guess I have to go out and buy it... ;-)

  • Superb in every way: intonation, blend, legato...

  • How do I get on the mailing list when the group comes to California.

  • Ego flos campi et lilium convallium.

    Latin.

In english it could sound as:

I am the flower of the field and the lily of the valleys.

  • @Enryemma 我花了外地和百合的山谷 in Chinese

and گل من از میدان و زنبق دره in Persian.

  • Very beautiful, disciplined singing - without a conductor this could all fall to pieces so easily! Love it.

  •

  • I think the language is Klingon. So beautiful.

  • Just came home from their concert tonight in Ann Arbor. I really enjoyed their Tallis+Byrd program. Great program, fantastic ensemble, wonderful musicianship!

  • So beautiful! What language are they singing?

  • I'm guessing it's Latin.

  • Can't wait to see them in New York on October 25th at Corpus Christi Church on upper west side.

  • @sfolger1 Oh, how I wish they were coming to Chicago!

  • i imagine angels sound like this

  • @ammusi Have you ever stared the Angel of Death in the eyes and heard its screech. Sounds nothing like this.

  • @paulsav21

no, I'm not an expert in the afterlife - and don't care to muse on that right now.

  • @ammusi Ah, but the Angel of Death greets us in this life to take us to the next where, if we are blessed, Boticelli angels are waiting, quacking like ducks.

  • forgive me, but you sound like a complete idiot

  • @ammusi That may be, but at least I know what angels really sound like.

  • Hey have a great holiday and take care.

  • @ammusi It's not just a holiday. It's Christmas! Have a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year, hopefully in the prescence of the sorts of angels you would welcome.

  • Absolutely gorgeous!! I would gladly pay money to hear this group sing live.

  • I saw this group live in Boston in June, and they are wonderful! If they are in your area, do go see them, you will not regret it!

  • stunning

  • Wonderful singing!
