  • 3:15 Jaws' face is just priceless, he's like Wile E Coyote staying 2 or 3 seconds in mid air =)

  • starting at 4:11 i wish i knew what the name of that piece of music is. it's beautiful.

  • 1:14 best dummy explosion ever...

  • Some have said that Drax is a rather bland villian, but Michael Lonsdale played him perfectly. A quietly spoken sociopath who has to build a world populated with his carefully chosen hangers-on and his one liners are excellent.

  • the look on Jaws' face LOL

  • The locations, design, direction and music in this film are truly exquisite - if only they'd had a better script to lavish attention on! Love the blonde in the temple scene ;)

  • @CorporalChris i'm not sure if its the same but i think its called 007 theme. if oyu want to hear it check out this vid on youtube: John Barry - 007 Theme

  • I really really really loved the parachute fight in the opening of his movie (stupendous) and everything else that came after EXCEPT the thing that ruined it all was the overlong space battle near the end. Like Thunderball's underwater fight, the space battle was too long and probably the most boring. Nevertheless, the other scenes in Moonraker were great. :) Also, I don't know why but Barry's score in Moonraker seemed to be more sombre and restrained; not as loud, bombastic and fun as before.

  • you gotta love Jaws.... aka Beisser in german ^^

  • Classic Bond scene with that music calmly playing in the scene's background.

  • 3:21

    hahaha

  • Brilliant scene. Thanks for posting. Moonraker is my favorite Bond film with interesting & unique storyline, superb visual effects, best Bond actor (Roger Moore) and best Bond girl (Lois Chiles). I adore this film

  • Worst Bond ever, however nicest Actor who played Bond EVER :D lol

  • I have seen loads of James Bond films I have.

  • I thought that Roger Moore's best Bond film was Moonraker.

  • Ahh the CV - 23 hardtop. Not many of those were made. Many mistakenly believe the Scimitar is the Moonraker boat but it was a CV - 23...

  • This boat chase scene is quite simply pure cinema at its very best. So well done, with an attention to deal and style it remains as fresh today as it did over thirty years ago. The track is mesmerizing with the French Horns switch over to violins at midpoint. Moonraker is a sublime blend of humor, detail, and action.

  • Jaws' face at 3.20 is priceless :D

Oh and @GehlenBND, love that old school Bond track, though I must say it reminds me more of Largo getting boshed on Thunderball than it does Moonraker :)

  • @ 2:30 - Love the subtle look on Bond's face. "Oh, it's HIM again." LOL!!!

  • this is the last movie in which they used the 007 track from the first james bond movies...

  • "I discovered it had a crush on me"

  • Holy crap, all those girls are beautiful but that blonde is just too stunning for words! What is her name?

  • This was the last Bond film where they got the music exactly right. Music was excellent, and coupled so well with the action. How many other movies have pulled off such long stretches without dialog yet still kept the viewer entranced? After Moonraker, Bond music was mediocre at best. Damn shame. This is a great YouTube post.

  • The music is called "007" and is by John Barry. It crops up in various arrangements in the original Bond films, starting with "From Russia with Love".

Some kind Youtubers have posted videos featuring this music.

  • does any 1 know the music name for this at around 1:30 - 1:40 it starts

  • i know i have mp3

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • Dont forget about The Spy Who Loved Me.

  • more like the worst two Bond films made *AHAAA*

  • lol at the dummies at 1:17

  • This scene rips off the similar boat chase scene in "From Russia With Love", even down to the use of the same piece of John Barry music.

  • The best Bondmovie ever made. So good, beautiful locations and shots en last but not least, the stunning Bondgirl Lois Chiles, who played the rol Holly Goodhead.

  • 5:54 Drake never introduce those two woman

  • i know its corny and cliched but for me this is one of the best bond films...

  • Jaws has good abs

  • For the man who has everything that boat would be nice..

  • 3:20... epic facial expression.

  • Probably the only scene sequence in a James Bond movie or any other movie in fact with absolutely no dialogue but still manage to be very entertating for over 7 minutes with amazing action and excellent music from John Barry. Hollywood woulnd dare to take such risk anymore. Don't you agree?

  • Good point! I haven`t thought about that!

  • The scene by the pool is not silly fantasy but chillingly evokes the evils of Nazism and Communism, which both tried to perfect the human race.

The later scene aboard the collapsing space station when Jaws and the nerdy girl with glasses fall in love is both goofy and deeply poignant.

  • Clearly this has a social constructivism message. It deals with reality of life.

When a child is born. An oldman dies.

Moonraker is a metaphor for life!

  • This boat is one of the best Bond vehicles ever!

  • 3:17 - 3:21 halarious

  • Haha Jaws is such a good character.

  • My dad delivered this boat to the set in California . Got moore's autograph and everything. Pretty cool.

  • Could you rephrase?

  • right after bond punches jaws drax comes in and says"mr bond, you defy all my attempts to plan an amusing death for you." "youre not a sportsman. why did you break off the encounter with my pet python" James bond replies. I discovered he had a crush on me" lol classic moment

  • whats the song called that is played in this section of the movie

  • which song mate? there's two :D

  • If your taking about the boat chase music, it's a track called "Bond arrives in Rio/Boat Chase". It's a version of "007", a theme heard in some of the older Connery Bond films.

  • No, it's just "Boat Chase." The Rio arrival theme was played earlier when Bond flew into Brazil from Venice. The songs are played back to back, however, on the soundtrack from the movie.

  • Brazil, huh? Capoeira.....!

  • whats the song where he fights the anaconda underwater

  • excellent music!!!!

  • lovely boat

  • ekk, as much as i like this movie since it was good bond film with jaws in it,that snake creeps me out, i hate snakes

  • Aww show a little backbone will ya!?!

  • nice indina jones reference,

I HATE SNAKES JAUGHQE, I HATE EM!

  • woulda been pretty cool to see harrison ford play a henchman like jaws

  • That, or Harrison Ford would have made a pretty awesome Felix Leiter.

  • i'd hate to have that in my pool

  • i got a good one who would win in fight him or jaws

  • probably a tie. james bonds wit and skill match jaws sheer strength.

  • no i meant this discusting anaconda vs jaws

  • oh. jaws probably. he killed one or two sharks in the previous film the spy who loved me. underwater. whilst the atlantis ship was exploding. so jaws. but i would be kinda rooting for the anaconda. its 22 feet long and it has an advantage underwater. and the only way bond could have killed it was by using the hypodermic pen. but ya again jaws still has the odds

  • this is probably gonna piss you off a little since this the second time you answered my question but i meant the steven spielbergs jaws, you know dunh dunh dunh, with the john williams music..

  • 1; i'm not pissed. i understand completely. 2 jaw . its a fucking shark vs a python. i have my odds on jaws

  • The snake is a Python.

  • wow,,,, and to think this was a old bond film.... ifit had more of an ongoing score it would look like something from these days.... very good

  • This was my first Bond i ever saw in a theatre... love it until today!

And hey, this was made in the late 1970s, without any CGI. Unforgettable Drax quote "Why did you interrupt the encounter with my pet python"... and the snake is obviously a Boa ;-)

  • 3:05 "WTF"

  • So how does Quantum of Solace fair to Moonraker? IMO, Moonraker is a far superior Bond film. It has everything that was great about Bond - Q and the gadgets, good humour and a villain intent on destroying the world -what more could you want! And at least in Moonraker you can make out what's going on and James Bond isn't a heartless thug!

  • i accually would consider QoS the 22nd bond, more like the sequal to casino royal that just happens to have the story line of a normal bond, but isnt

  • great movie!

  • lol 3:15 so pretty hahaha LMAO

  • Moonraker was a great James Bond movie and i'll prove it:

1)Holly Goodhead-Tell me with a straight face you wouldn't hit that. Defining Dialog:"James, take me around the world one more time."

2)Jaws, freelance giant metal-mouthed psychopath that Bond tried to kill numerous times and failed. Defining Dialog: "Well, here's to us."

3)Orbital Laser Tag War-You get to see space marines fight Drax's Super Race in low Earth Orbit! Pew, pew, pew, pew!

4)The Plot: The murder of all life on Earth.

    A+

  • The location here exept a while before Bond has to leave the beautiful boat, is actually California! There are houses we cannot see, and practically enough, gas-stations behind there. (hope I didn`t "take the atmosphere away") But it is a great sequence!

  • Oh sorry folks, I ment Florida, not California.. Sometimes I have to meet Freud or something!

  • apart from the fight with cha, this is my favourite 7 mins in the whole movie. when i saw this as a child i thought it was the greatest film ever made!

  • anyone notice that the snake barely moved an inch once he was wrestling it

  • LOL I love jaw's face expression at 3:05

  • wat is the name of the theme at 1.31? someone tell me please

  • I think it's the same tune in a sean connery bond, during a similar boat chase. From russia with love perhaps?

  • tune is called 007, and yes was first heard in From Russia With Love, heard in Thunderball, You Only Live Twice Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker

  • The snake fight scene is such an obvious fake. Moore wrestling with a thick latex pipe... Even Ed Wood wouldn't have done better !

  • my family owns the boat that james bond uses in this boat chase it is awesome i go water skiing behind it all the time

  • You mean the boat still exists after all this time?

  • @teleaddict23

    He means the same model.

We had it too, it was a really good boot for over 20years.

We also used it for water skiing.

  • I own 1 of the moonrakers and fly to the moon in it every wekend.

  • I own the city of Rio de Janeiro where some Moonraker was filmed.

I almost never go there though. It's too hot. I prefer my ice palace where some of Die Another Day was filmed.

  • Wow, how long have you been saving up? I only bought Atlantis from Stromberg. It needed overhauling, but now it is working fine! If you come visit me, just take the elevator! hihihihi

  • How many hours does it take to clean your mansion? X) I want to borrow Rio for a few months! How much? 100000000.$?

  • every movie the henchemen's efforts to kill Bond are futile

  • Actually filmed on the St. Lucie River in Florida.

  • Great action scene on the Amazon River, the look on Jaws' face when 007 arises from the boat roof on the glider is funny

  • This entire scene is from the Ultimate Edition DVD of Moonraker innit

  • I love the music when Bond is following the woman in the white dress through the jungle and towards the old temple

  • Yes from the ultimate DVD. I too love the music as Bond goes towards the temple. Great scene. I luv a lot of John Barry's stuff and Moonraker, not only being a great film, had the best musical score.

  • I couldn`t agree more! Moonraker is lovely high-class entertainment! And Ken Adam strikes again! :)

  • best bond film by a longshot. anyone who says otherwise clearly has other opinions.

  • Roger Moore judges Miss World 1979, poolside.

  • ludicrous, but entertaining :)

  • Great job. Especially the boat chase, when the music starts, my favorite scene as well.

  • WATERFALL MAKE JAWS MAD!!!

  • That piece of music was used in several other Bond films, but this was the last time it was heard in a Bond adventure. :)

  • Do you know what the name of that piece is? I know that it is the alternate James Bond theme, but I don't know the name.

  • It's called "007".

  • OK, thanks. I found it.

  • Just got to love Jaws
