  • Need a heatshield for that intake.

  • hear some valve tapping?

  • @macmanjimmy no its 3vz injectors thats how they sound

  • Without getting into too many specifics, an oversized H22 piston would have a similar bore, but less compression. A piston is just a slug of aluminum with a few important specs like bore, pin diameter and height. If those meet needed specs, you can use them. It's not like a Toyota engine will reject pistons because it's from a Honda.

  • Honda+Toyota=JDM goodness.

  • japanese fiero :P

  • @MetalheadEchidna

    Ew god no.

  • @LLJKotaru its a joke XD

  • wowwww h22 pistons huh? was tht a straight fit? or machine shop work included XD

  • you just made a budget superchared lotus elise, for about 1/8th the price nice!

  • @rmcg2001 bah, this thing would rape the elise!

  • how does de oil gate' reaches almost top ?

does it runs with really hot temperatures ?

  • love it, only thing is you need bigger brakes.. i converted mine to 5 lug 93 turbo hubs spindles rotors etc..

  • Is there a "Love" button? This "Like" button seems inadequate.

  • Holy crap perfect sleeper.

  • I want to put a 3.5 v6 plus the 6 speed it comes with in a MR2. Cool!

  • I can see the shoehorn marks on the strut housings =D

  • door buzzer sounds like nuclear alarm warning

  • great noise dude

  • I used to have an 85 hardtop. I drive a 93 4runner now but I have to say, I miss that annoying buzzer sound. Haha.

  • lovely sound it makes.:)

  • wow

  • how the hell did you put h22 pistons in a 1mzfe? lol

  • @wed3k yeah why?

  • @wed3k the piston diameter is probably the same. The only difference would be that it has two more pistons and longer rods.

  • very nice set up!!!! cant wait to see what it can do!

  • how much did this swap cost?

  • you would never believe thats a camry v6.

  • They also have a Camry V6 in the Evora. I have a feeling those toyota engines are as passionate as a Honda's; they just need a reflash.

  • sounds so sexy when u rev it at the end

  • i have a 1988 MR2 and i fucking hate that damn noise when your key is in it

  • @charles5448 You can just unplug the buzz box, drivers side just behind the seat inside the trim panel. Black box with 6 wires.

  • @DeathCougar1 Mine's no longer in the car... I hated that damn thing! Haha. Sa-weet ride.

  • haha i had one before and i hated the noise too.

  • fucking insane!!

  • respect..

  • wtf! is that????

  • Thanks, some firewall work near the pulley and removed latch ( now has one again ) engine is farther forward than most but it does fit. Also moved battery tray and used stock body mounts for engine. The welder is my best friend! SDS EFI stock rods, Wiseco Turbo H22 slugs with new valve reliefs.

  • amazing! did you do any hacking/welding/hammering to the trunk firewall at all? all previous installations i've seen had to because the stock intake mani was too long. gj though, this is almost exactly what i want to do with my 2.

    ps.

what engine management? also, did you use stock rods w/ the h22 pistons? cheers!

  • hey te compro el mr2 cuanto cuesta

  • talk about a sleeper, you must scare people when you take off.

    I like it ;)

  • WICKED!

  • twobrutal!!!!

  • oh my jesus! haha

  • Thats nice! what engine did you put in there???

  • it's a 1mzfe from a toyota camry v6 in the 90's/early 2000's great swap planning to do this in my mr2 :D mk2 though

  • Just beautiful!

  • very clean man, i'm impressed

  • Wow, that is some kind of monster you've got there, best of luck!!

  • OMFG!!! Ca we say beastly

  • Beast!! I love it..

  • oh I bet that thing flies!

  • thats sweet man, but what is the ticking sound i hear from the engine?

  • cambelt? not sure.

  • fuck!!!!! I'm so fucken jelous, I wish I had the time and money to build me one of those

  • Sounds like a muscle car. What exhaust do you have on it?

  • h22s eh? wonder how they would work in the predecessor engine, the 3vz-fe

  • sick ass car theirs alot of fab work to put that v6 in and come in from the bottom never the less sick ass car

  • That a killer car.

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks for all the thumbs up on my car, You guys need to check out the driving vid of it in the posters other videos. Engine does need a cold air source, have not worked it out yet. Very little room left under there! Put about 2000 miles on her but winter is here so no new Mr2 vids till summer.....

  • cant you just relocate the battery and make a custom set up to sit lower and more away from the engine?

  • Get a Tom's style driver's side scoop for the engine bay, that's how I got cold air to my 20v in my MK1.

  • nice work bro !! I've just seen that you have a air filter that isn't close so it takes all the warm air.. no good for the performance.. I've got a filter BMC that is in a box (for racing use only .. ^_^ ) on my mr2 mkII and it takes the air on the side.. may be can you check for this.. bye !

  • na naa there is an air vent on the side of the car my brothers 86 G1 MR-Too also has an engine swap the vent on the side brings in cold air.

im not sure if his has it, it looks like an 85 correct me if im wrong please. but yes there is a vent on the side rear quarter panel

  • the air filter is on the left hand side while the vents on a aw11 are on the right hand side of the car. so the vents won't help in this case.

    great car bytheway..

    wanne have one to

  • they vents wouldnt be a DIRECT help maybe not but any cold fresh air in the engine bay is good air, also i think that if hes done all that fab work to implement a V6 more then less likely hes done a simple Vent fix lol i like MRk1s with the Dual Vent fix it looks really nice

  • if you take a closer look at the video, it's most unlikey to think that he did a vent fix..

and the cold air that will come into the bay by the vent will be warm when it reaches the air intake.

  • ,you never know all engines are different. also he could have the cabin air fix aswell. where you cut a hole in the firewall in between the seats it also vents air that way. you never know tho. its a good spot but you simply never know lol

  • there are parts of the engine in the position where the vent should be.. the hole in the fire wall is possible.. I know a mr2 aw11 which has 2 radiators (like placed in a PC) attached to the "door" of the engine bay. to cool the engine. so there is a lot possible but without any of these editions the position of this air intake is far from optimal.

  • lol back and forth.. to be honost bro. i think this is a drag ready mr2 and the guy doesnt street it. im pretty sure he doesnt even put the hood on the car so this would actually work set that aside. is this not one badass fucking mrk1 or what?? lol kudos to that

  • if it's bad ass? hell yeah..

  • Mic just picking up high pitch noise, batch fire 440cc injectors at very low duty cycle. Trust me its fine, I will get a driving vid on as soon as my ignition map is spot on. Thanks for the concern

  • Cool, can't wait to see this monster on the road.

  • Lots of money, cost depends on what my time is worth. I did all the work myself except boring the block. Put about 1000 miles on the engine now, hope to get a new video soon!

  • How much did all this cost you to do? Including labor and the cost of the engine. I'm talking the entire package :P

  • thats heavy man

  • That is insane!

  • Thats my ride in the vid, I would love to do a driving vid but it wont stop snowing!!!

I promise a couple this summer, watch for a new powerwheels vid in the near future too!

  • John, You need to bring that thing by the shop when it dry out.

    Chad

  • Sorry Dude, no lifters in this motor! That would just be big injectors clicking away.

  • Awesome swap BTW.

  • @bs27r1bcuda yea same with my old porsche it makes a lot of noise I thought it was valves that were lose but all checked out perfect. Its just the engine normal noise.

  • @bs27r1bcuda wow lol

  • I like how people think they know what theyre talking about.

  • why wud he have to replace it? it sounds like its loose, i dont think that hurts the engine if he keeps it in there a while before he replaces it

  • that is definitely too much fun of a party in one engine bay! ...on a side note, that door buzzer is a bit loud! lol

  • Why h22 pistons? What CR are u running on it?

  • from what Toyota model did you get your engine from?

  • Its a 1MZFE from a late 90's Camry

  • wow nice job bro! how many HP did it produce on your AW? idk what to do with mine.. im saving money for a gen 2 or imah just used that money for a swap for a GZE.. lol..

  • i've been waiting for some mad scientist to actually do this swap. so, what kind of hp do you get from this monster?

  • and dude for the love of god unplug that annoying ass door buzzer

  • Nice!

  • oh my god sounds so gooooood! lets hear some rev rev!!

  • sick!!! awesome swap! and u didnt have to go into the trunk

  • awesome!! give us some more!!

  • awsome! CANT WAIT TO SEE IT DRIVING.

  • whoa dude this was yesterday 0_0
