  • WE NEED ANOTHER GENERAL PERSHING!!

  • too bad..he left his family, yup his family in the philippines.....he is my great grandfather...no wonder my grandfather john looks just like him.

  • I am related to him. he is my seventh cousin.

  • RIP General!

  • There is no disputing that had we not forced the Kaiser to abdicate, that 6 million jews would be alive. Even in the process of taking power, Hitler had to face down the monarchist, Paul von Hindenburg, who tried to stop him.

And the "Valkyrie" movie fails to mention that they were all monarchists (Ludwig Beck, von Witzleben, Stauffenberg were monarchists). People who believed in voting and Republics took NO action against Hitler. They wanted to "wait" for him to die and "vote" a new leader in.

  • @Cyrus255 and it also doesnt mention that von stauffenberg and his brother believed the nazis aryan superiority, and if the tide hadnt turned against Germay, they probably wouldnt have tried to kill Hitler

  • pinche pendejo perhing

  • They should have let Pershing invade Germany in 1918. He knew all too well that if Germany wasn't utterly defeated and their weapons industry layed to ruins they'd want revenge for WWI. How right he was. Both the French and British were keen on utterly defeating Germany in 1919, but Woodrow Wilson made them seek peache with Germany instead.

This made a certain Adolf Hitler wrongly believe Germany was on the verge of winning the war when they were betrayed by their own. These were jews.

  • peace, a typo

By invading Germany in 1919 there's no way Hitler could have gained a lot of support for his idea that the Versailles treaty was unfair and how Germany had been betrayed by jews when they were close to winning the war. In fact it's very likely Germany would have learned the lesson they finally got to learn at the end of WW2.

Germany was already facing a collapse on the homefront in 1917 with starvation and food riots.

Pershing should have had his way in 1918. No Hitler and WW2.

  • @McLarenMercedes the irony of history is democracies are usually autocratic and monarchies, democratic. kings accept limits on powers, politicians accept no such thing.

WW1 should not have been fought. 6 million jews would be alive had we not spent a million lives "bringing democracy".

Republics = Genocide. Rome was the first genocider

Weimar REPUBLIC elected Hitler. Soviet Republic elected Stalin. The People's Republic elected Mao. Iran is a Republic. North Korea is a Republic. See a trend?

  • @Cyrus255 Who spent a million lives bringing democracy?

The United States is a republic.

  • @1Dougy85 You realize Republics are democracies, right? All democracy means is rule of the people. The original greek democracies did not even have elections as Aristotle and others called elections aristocratic tyrannies (worse than monarchy in Aristotle's opinion). Real democracy was supposed to be "sortition", that is to be appointed by lottery, not by a popularity contest

Anywho, since you like Republics, did you forget Hitler (Weimar Republic), Stalin (Soviet Republics), Mao (pRc).

  • Im from conantgardens after i studied this man i had a new respect for him

  • Absolute HERO right here!!! God Bless him, and God Bless America!!!

  • did you know that John Pershing is of half French Huguenot and half German protestant descent? He is a Freman (French + German)!!!!!

  • We need another Black Jack to solve this border problem!

  • yeah like he solved pancho villa's problem

  • A man that doesnt get the credit he deserves as one of Americas greatest.

  • @BamFor07 You are absolutely correct. This man was one of the most respected Generals, ever. The only 6-star General in US history. Patton, Marshall, Eisenhower, etc... used to visit him when he was a very old man, during WWII, to seek his advice and counsel.

  • We should do that in this war on terror

  • This guy knew how to stop muslim extremism

  • He also knew how to solve the damn border problem, too!

  • na he didnt...

    LOL he never catched Villa

    8P

    Viva Villa!!!

  • villa won to this pershing general. villa could have been better than him 100 times.

    viva villa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes,it is too bad most american didn't listen to him. Some even admired Hitler and nazi germany, and thought good business could be made with the germans. Henry Ford and IBM earned millions and openly supported the nazis before 1941. Pershing had fought the germans in WWI and knew the nazis were a lot worse.

  • Just as some people think Obama will be a good president. He's another pro-black racist in my opinion.

  • General Black Jack Pershing.

    Interesting guy.

  • Too bad we don't have lots of men today like him.

  • We do.

A number of Generals were more than willing to go in to Pakistan after Osama.

  • Well, Pershing went and fought off illegals coming over the border from Mexico and he stopped muslim terrorists.

  • Top to bottom the entire conflict in the philippines was weird as hell.

  • I was told that he had his men round a group of muslims. They took a pig, cut it in half, dipped the ammo in pig's blood, and shot all but two. Pershing told the two remaining muslims to go back and tell their friends. Surprisingly there were no muslim uprisings for over 60 years

  • He may have done that.

    snopes dot com/rumors/pershing.htm

  • The war in the philippines was weird.

  • Never heard his voice before! I servedin the missile system named for him, Pershing II.
