@101boxboyman Approximately 800-1000 shots per fill if it's a good fill and it depends on your marker as well. A gun with a cyclone will use up a little more air compared to a gun without it. Also consider the spoolie/popit comparisons. -Russell
This is only a temporary solution. The only REAL way to defog goggles, and keep them defogged is by spreading a thin layer of super glue over the inside of the lenses. Once the super glue dries, it becomes transparent and moisture will not stick to it. This also works for scratches on the outside of the lenses. It fills in the scratches and makes them like new again!! Enjoy.
is there a way i could prevent fog without buying anything because i use a rental mask i get from HH paintball in canada but when im playing it fogs up and i cant see
@Austin0Central There is not a free system for making a mask non-fog, especially a rental mask. Your best bet is to buy a good mask with a thermal lens.
@Austin0Central yea there is mix baby shampoo with soap 50/50 ratio and spray on the inside lense or just rub toothpaste in really good and whipe it off (only white toothpaste)
Drilling holes in your mask helps reduce the temperature different for airsoft players. But I don't think they would let you do that in paintball. Also it you put a cloth over your mouth it stops moisture from going up into your mask.
I use VFroce Grill and the anti-fog lenses worked great. The problem is when the anti-fog layer get soaked with sweats, it 'gels' up (for lack of better word). You'd noticed this when cleaning the lense by spraying water on the inside. It takes quite a few minutes to dry up and become clear.
My solution to this problem is by sewing my own headband with a layer of Speedo quick-dry micro fiber towel. It's thin but soaks a lot of sweats. I sweat a lot and usually play in thick tropical jungle.
actually the best way is tooth paste i use it when im diving and havent tried it with a paint ball mask though and you can get old or new computer fans.
@MrXgraffkidd1x The fan is only designed for a select few but with some mods it can be attached to just about every mask. Some of the smaller profile masks just do not have the space for the fan without looking "stuck on the mask".
The Dye I4 is probably the best choice for a mask, while the price is a bit steep (100 US last I checked), Ive never had it fog on me, no matter how I controled my breathing. It is designed for players with a smaller head, but ive got a big head and it works great.
I've Heard you can Use White Toothpaste and rub it into the inside of the lens for several minutes then rinse with water, besure to get all tooth paste out. Also using a 50/50 Baby Shampoo and Water Mix into a Mini Squirt Bottle. Just Something's i heard. Cheap Household items are allways better than have to go out and buy aftermarket Anti-Fog Spray. Hope This Helps.
How about an antiperspirant, spray that on there? Would it work since antiperspirants stop or prevent you from sweating? Maybe it will stop sweat from forming on the lens and fogging.
@AceofWWII I do not think this would be a very good idea. Condensation from your breath is very different from sweat coming from pores that antiperspirant blocks. Not to mention all of the chemicals involved potentially ruining the anti-fog coating that is there. And the fact that antiperspirant is something not easily rubbed off in most cases. I would not recommend this.
Some guys at a field I went to said that wiping rubbing alcohol on your lens helps stop fog. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm doubtful. Can anyone confirm that?
@EmperorHelix I would not recommend this, it may not the first time, but continued use of rubbing alcohol on a paintball lens will remove any and all anti-fog coating that is there.
@CaptainMcMillin I wear glasses as well and have had that issue in the past, I would recommend a mask that vents well and in some cases you may need to use an anti-fog wipe on your glasses.
@CaptainMcMillin Normally, but I have used my glasses with the Grill and they fogged up, the mask I use currently the JT Proflex has never made my glasses fog up.
One huge issue for lens visibility actually has nothing to do with fogging. Once you've sweat enough - the sweat will soak through the mask foam and run down onto your lens. Then you won't be able to see - and no anti-fog stuff will stop it.
So you really need to be wearing a hat, headband or Sandana to soak up the sweat and keep it out of your foam.
You breath threw your Nose helps some because it goes down and not forward, where Hot air rises right towards your lens, Windex or glass cleaners are generally bad for the Plastics lens are made of and will take what fog coating you have on it off fast, but for a good coating you can try FogDoc its a buffed on Non Fog compound that leaves the lens clear to see threw at Fogdoc.Com
@gaurder20 We REALLY recommend against using any harsh cleaners (Windex included). Many of the harsh cleaners have additives like ammonia that will ruin a lens. Use a quality optics cleaner specifically made for lenses or eyeglasses.
This may sound weird and disgusting, but why don't they make some kind of greasy spray, I mean sweat has water in it and grease repels water, soooooo... problem solved?
@Dangeada Yellow is for low-light situations, such as forest paintball, clear is general use, and smoke or mirror is for bright conditions only, such as daylight tournament paintball.
@buscoboy5 do not use windex for any reason on your lens, you will risk taking the coating off of it, i would recommend getting a thermal mask that way you don't have to worry about messing with anti-fog
Even if you use every any fog measure a lens can still fog. The coatings only stop the water from condensing and "fogging". However the moisture will still build on the lens if you sweat enough. It will simply impair your vision in another way. No single method will stop fogging. They are all just methods to delay the the time until you have to stop and dry the lens.
Airflow is a massive problem. Many masks direct hot, moisture rich air directly to the lens.
You guys forgot to say saliva like the people that go water diving. they spit in there mask wipe it up a little then rinse it in water and fog stays away for a while anyways
Sure, the anti fog lens is great, but what they need to do is make a decent fan that does the job as well. Not only are we sweating in the masks, but the foam in the masks are geting soaked and adding to the problem. The companies that make our masks need to get a mask/fan design that pulls air from the outside of the mask and pulls it past the internal lens, then pushes it out the mask.
The best why is to buy a thermal mask. They dont fog on the inside at all if they do fog its beacuse of weather such as rain. Everytime I go to skirmish and see my friends using there spray i just laugh because thermal mask dont cost a whole lot more then reg's do. You'ed prob spend more money on all the spray in the long run.
Just go to an auto store and get Rain-X, Anti Fog. its a anti fog for car windshields and also protects somewhat too. just remember to coat it on the inside, not the outside =D (also make sure the lens is as clean as possible)
But thats designed for glass, paintball lenses are heavy duty plastic, and that would be like using windex on your lense, I have some rain x out in my garage and its pretty identical in terms of chemicals that could potentially eat away at the lense.
@wiilikepie Well thats what my dad does at the fire department, and he says it works well. Also, Rain X Defogger is not a chemical substance designed to manipulate it, it's just a coating that help prevent fogging =P Also, it has worked for my paintball mask.
Ok I read up on it and you are correct, but for people trying to clean or anti fog their paintball mask, read every ingredient on what your using, if it has alcohol in it, NEVER use it on your paintball mask, it will deteriorate your mask and if you did use somthing like windex or other glass cleaner then go buy a new lens, they're only like $20-$30 and I definately think $20-$30 every 6 months is worth it for a piece of safety equipment.
Now that doesn't mean if you used a non-alcohol glass cleaner that your masks lense is going to break next time it gets hit, I guess I gotta remember this is Youtube and people are going to be saying "oh my god I used a glass cleaner on my lens, I could've gone blind." no, thats not true, just if it has alcohol (or other acidic things) in it.
@TKDgeehun did u really just repeat a past conversation that has already been resolved? read the other comments please-,- its been a month since it happened i really dont feel like having deja vu
im not trying to be offensive to paintball but one thing about airsoft is u can use mesh masks more effectively than in paintball because the paint would get in your eyes UNLESS you are wearing clear glasses which might help with wiegje's problem or the hot air from breathing would stay in and just fog up the glasses which would be an epic fail
I live in the netherlands and playing PB here just sucks really because of the environment. It's very humid here in the summer, thus making you sweat a metric fuckton. And in the winter, its cold as fuck causing the temperature difference to be huge. There really isn't anything that helps here, although I still have not tried a Vortex fan for my JT.
