The name "Isa" is not in Revelation 13 in the Holy Bible. I'm assuming that patienceprence is cross referencing facts in this statement. Revelation 13 speaks of the antichrist, the false prophet. This was a great PRAYER, NOT a speech as Joseph Lowery's did. The mentioned names were for the only God Christians have: Jesus' name in four languages: English, Arabic, Hebrew, and Spanish, a name that is above every name and the Bible says: every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10,11) our God, the I AM.

separation of church and state means that obama can have a god that he believes in but you can be free to live and work and either believe in the same god as him, or a different one, or no god at all. all of this regardless if his god is the real one or not. it does not mean that we all have to pretend to be atheist or agnostic or worse yet, to actually be atheist. which you are free to be or not be and i support your G-d given right to do so

Unfortunately Rick Warren is preaching abstinence in a country that has believed his (^#&@ and now has a severe spike in the AIDS infection rates again. While I do think abstinence is the best birth control and safety from STD's, it is not entirely embraced by everyone (i.e. teen pregnancy in christian teens and US AIDS transmission rates in the 13-24 year old segments of the population.

I'd feel uncomfortable if I were there. There is this social pressure to bow your head on cue when Rick Warren says, "let us pray." But what if you don't know exactly what he's going to say? What if you don't agree with every word he says? The head-bowers in the crowd are consenting to give this Warren guy -- a mere mortal -- an enormous amount of power, without even knowing what he's going to say. In my view, that's unfortunate and dangerous.

My favourite part of his speech was when he called for a more "just" America - is that before or after we take away gay people's rights like he accomplished with Prop 8? Someone who compares me and people in my community to pedophiles, and who compares abortion to the Holocaust, is undeserving of that podium and the clout it brings with it. Absolutely despicable.

To be honest, it doesn't matter what Americans shouldn't have to listen to a Christian prayer. The leader himself is a Christian, so he has the right to ask a pastor for a prayer in his own inauguration. Maybe someday if a Muslim person gets elected, he or she can ask for an imam to pray or if an atheist gets elected, maybe ask for Richard Dawkins.
