  • i love the hugs campaing, feel so good, thanks for every hugs, hope this campaing will be done in every countries in the world, by the culture of Thai people, they don't hug or kiss together in the puplic, a bit shy to show how they love together (maybe many countries in asia), so as i see on this video most are tourists, anyway thanks to did this campaing in Thailand, one hug from Thailand "The land of smile"

  • Sadly most Thai people are quite shy and not so open to strangers. That's why we see only foreigners and tourists willing to hug in the video. I wish someday we'll have a Thai hugger gets hugged by Thai people. Great video, though, especially that St.Bernard !

  • Yeah, you definitely needed to use darker, thicker markers. and bigger signs. No one would be able to read those from a distance at night. Looks like you had a lot of success though!

  • I just did a job as an easter bunny, and It felt good to get hugs from complete strangers, even if I was dressed as rabbit!

  • i couldnt believe when i heard the movement got banned! like you can prohibit something like that! i love the spirit of this movement. will be spreading it in atascadero cali and see if i can get a positive response :) *BIG huggz 4 everyone!* :D

  • And gone is your wallet...when you hug a stranger in BKK.

  • @avcomth You may have had some bad experiences in Thailand. But please do not let that be your stereotype of all Thai people. I won't steal yours, for sure.

  • Great job Bankok!! :)

    *hugs*

  • Hugs from Romania! :-)

  • เยี่ยมมากครับ นับถือ

  • yep, you can said that happen in thailand ,but all about foreigner not thai people.

I'm thai and thai people can give you smiles and be kindness to everyone but not directly touch to another that we don't know well.

we so shy to share someone a hug in public, then this campaign not really thai ,not yet

  • love peace and unity

  • Big Hugs from NakhonNayok, Thailand.. Mwahhhh

  • (hugs) everyone

  • Better write in Thai Words "กอดฟรี" :-)

  • i love this one too! great video!

    show some love people <3

  • the best part is when he say fuck

  • Only tourist came to hug. You should have reached out to the locals.

  • Eemorn, that's not his fault. It was their choice to hug or not. Don't criticize him for something he did that was good.

  • Nothing wrong with a hug, but it is, after all, not a part of Thai culture. We might want to ask ourselves just how respectful of Thai culture such a campaign is. In the video it seemed to be westerners who joined in. Maybe free Wais would be more appropriate and respectful. After all, a free Wai goes just as far as a free hug.

  • big hug from anand (all star team)

  • big big hugs from malaysia =)

  • We don't hug, we WAI. Hugging is not in our culture. "WAI" :)

  • We do love each other by hug from the other.

    Wai, to show respect.

This is all about "Love" not "Respect".

  • big hugs from ca, usa

  • From manila Philippines, Big hugs!

  • what mean of this? why do 4 this?

  • 'random act of kindness' is all! i wanna do it too :D

  • great video.

    thanks you

  • it's great. I lived in Thailand for 1 year, and the thing I missed the most was a hug.

  • I think its a very good idea to do this in Thailand..but i wonder if there'll be large amounts of Thais cooperating with us,,because of the culture and stuff..it might be abit awkward.

  • Good one Manik. I justed couldn't work out where you took this video exactly. I did notice near the end that the police motorbike read Chanasongkram. Guess, you were just up from Khao Sarn.

  • Very very cool! I didn't see many Thais giving hugs.More farangs than Thais.Must not feel comfortable with it.

  • Hey, does anyone want to get together for Free Hug Day?? It's Monday Sept 10th. I'll be in Bangkok. Let me know. My friends and I are trying to get this going :)

  • great great great, where are we doing it?

  • I'd love too. Can't go until Dec. How did your free hug day go there?

  • It's great. I am Thai and I am glad to see hugging people in Bangkok. You should go to Silom during on the working day.

  • Its good to do this in Bangkok because of the amount of crime that happens over there. Great!

  • free hug in cambodia

oh shoot that kid took my wallet!!

  • that was so great!!! finally a hugs campaign in bangkok!!! lol awesome :]

  • hugs from indonesia

  • With a sweet smile, put your hands together like you are praying, place just below the nose, then a slight bow towards someone and say, "sawatdee kap", if you are a man, or say "sawatdee ka", if you are a girl. You will get a better reception from thai people. Although I love the fact of spreading love to complete strangers is needed in this world. We just need to be more informed of other countries cultures, to improve on spreading this love.

  • By the way, if you really care about what you call spreading love, hug everyone, what I mean here is that don't shun away from street beggars! Because I just saw in some free hug campaigns, that they just passed by without even look at those street beggars! To me, those campaigners are nothing more than pretenders or impostors! Not genuine at all!

  • Are you saying that they are biased perverts?!!

In that case, they should all flock down to times square on New Years Eve...they would have a ball...LOL!

  • oh, we actually hugged a street beggar. he was like everyone of us.

  • Wonderful! Good for you!

    Gitl

  • i love it ,... do some more!

  • That was beautiful and so well put together. Thank you.

  • cool!

  • I loved the text comments through your Bangkok hugs video. It wasn't too much, just enough. I'm glad your dog even got a hug (For the family!). Thank you for making this video, sharing this video, and for the way you delivered it to the world. Thank you Juan and Sick Puppies.

Hugs to you and your dog...from across the world. Stay safe, my friend. Thank you.

  • love the video! i live in bangkok too... are you ever doing this again?

  • =) me and ajnixa wanted to do some FREE HUGS in pattaya

  • it´s a cute thing that you follow up with the free hugs campaign in bangkok. but it would have been a little bit more "thai" if you had gone to a place where thais are, not 99% tourists. however that is just my little adding here. :)

  • Great vid :)

  • this is realy inspiring. and makes you think all you need is a hug :) and all the times some of them have been watched you are a kind man nice work buddy XD

  • Or should I say free punch in the kidneys campaign..but I agree that free snack in the mouth campaign would be more interesting.

  • actually juan mann, tourists on the khaosarn road, susanna, those ppl deserve the credit. i mean.. people deserve credit.. i'm just a crazy guy.

  • On my estate theres a similar sort of campaign...its called the FREE SMACK IN THE MOUTH campaign.

  • well, good thing it is on your estate then. 'free SNACKS in the mouth campaign' would have been more interesting.

  • let's burn kajagoogoo and then kick him out!

  • I am so proud that at least one of us could think for the happiness of others...If by giving just one simple hug can inspire millions of people watching this video..I feel that the message you are trying to send through the initiation of your free hug campaign would have reached and by now touched the hearts of all of us...so called "human beings"! Keep it up Manik...!

  • AMAZING thing you guys are doing..when's ur nxt hug-fest?? I wanna join with u guys, it's so great that people are doing this!

  • Life is all about happiness and cheerfulness, ilove been involved in a cheerring occations bcos scene like this gives u reason of happy co-existances among living beings like u

  • Bangkok is still in a state of martial law, and at various places there are still military personel on the streets, on the whole public morale is very low. Here any street campaign is almost unthinkable, there were bomb blasts in the new year, there are blasts and killings on daily basis in the south, and every other day there are terror alerts, nothing worse like tel aviv or other places i assure, but by bangkok standards i think these guys were really brave to do it in those situations.

  • actually u are right too sir, we were just a bunch of kids / younger guys trying to entertain and pass on laughter, smiles, etc., perhaps we all didn't mind being idiots, or clowns as long as people laughed, and were happier, had some a memory to take back with them, but yea, we'll try something real.. (just afraid to get shot by the military, thats all, those guys are scary)..

  • What a bunch of Socially Inept Clowns! I'm not being negative, they are just some of the clowns that exist in the world. Why don't they collect for charity or do something real instead of entertaining themselves behind this "mask" of idiocy

  • forgive us the sin, sir. we will try something more signicant. perhaps in the next video. :) cheers.

  • Hey u just keep doing, I'm so glad that u started do this in Bangkok. (=

    I'm Thai though

  • Hope i will b able to join u guys next time!Keep in touch :P

  • there is a plan to do this sometime next week in march?

  • This is always touching...

  • it was an amazing experience!!! i wish we will do this again. infact we must do it again soon!
