Just wondering how the Cruze heating and defrosting systems work??? Its the one thing I cant test before buying a car, and sometimes its a disaster to learn in a snowstorm that the windshield defroster is poor.
I love my Chevy Cruze ECO. The 42mpg isn't lying! I just bought it in June because I drive lotsa' miles to get to Work to have a job, and it's Half paying for itself! I don't know what it will do in the Winter... That's why I didn't trade-in my (paid-off) Durango.
- If Weatherman says "chance of snowdrifts" I'll hammer thru 'em at 16.5 mpg.
@LightFR LMFAO I dont understand these car manufacturors, Chevy made only 1.4L sizes for America but they made a 2.0L for Europe. Thats totally unlike them.
@tashtan1: I'm not sure that the American market will like the 2.0L Diesel engine because their Diesel is more expensive than petrol. For example in Switzerland, Diesel is more expensive than normal petrol, Diesel Cruze are available but people prefer buying the petrol version with is less expensive.
@tashtan1: Yes, a 2.0 liters petrol could be great. But I know that the design of the car has been made for the 1.8 liters for example, with my 2.0 liters Diesel I have reached 230km/h but the speedometer go to 220km/h maximum so I was driving 1 cm over the speedometer !!!!

i just bought the Cruze RS it has a lower suspension and all-round autosculp body kit. with 19in, factory wheeles. its realy nice. and the body kit is factory made.
just out if curiosity how does it handle in the snow? I live in America and as you know we always get the good cars last (that is if we ever get the good cars)...for example this car is not available in diesel in the U.S =( ....but anyways I test drove it the other day and it drove very well in the rain and I'm considering buying it but there are no good reviews on how it drives in the snow.
It handle quite nice on snow, the Electronic Trajectory Control system help you by applying automatically brakes on separate wheels in order to keep the car in the good way. (If you start to slip in a turn, the car will brake automatically on some wheels in order to turn).
Unfortunately this car is not available in 4WD, could be a nice for snow.
Anyway, In case of accident, you will be kept safe with the 10 Airbags
I have tested this car witch 30cm (12in) of snow on the road and it was OK
@grkchick : I forget to tell, I'm leaving in an area where we have hard winter. It's the same winter weather as in Massachusetts (I leaved there during 6 Mouth). I found my Chevrolet Cruze better than my Saturn Vue AWD thank to the braking power and the electronic control system of the Cruze.
I know that the Diesel is not available in the US, but the design and the electronic devises are the same on all type of Cruze, so I think the US petrol will handle like the Euro Diesel, just less power.

this car is really fast, its still a "sedan" car but in my opinion you cant compare it with a toyota new yaris or whatever... the interior is pretty good, like a sport car interior and the direction is perfect. this car got everything, speed, control and beauty. i recommend it 100%

But basically I can say that is a very nice car to drive, no surprise because the direction is very stable. I fill very safe in it because this car is well made of hard steel and you have a lot of safety equipment.
Engine speaking: I have the 2L Diesel, with provide 150hp so you can power the car to 230 km/h (143mph) ! Nice...

@tashtan1: I'm not sure that the American market will like the 2.0L Diesel engine because their Diesel is more expensive than petrol. A 360 view of the car IN a snow storm does NOTHING to prove how well it actually handles DRIVING in a snow storm. What was the point???
