Saw the YD's perform this in LA on St. Patrick's Day weekend. It was fantastic! It'll go very well with some of their other pieces. azatrox, I agree with almost everything you said ... Flogging Molly is wonderful, but more punk, while this is more rock. Pogues are great, they just aren't accessable, they don't tour enough.
YD are great and I like them a bit better than The Tossers (and quite a bit better than Dropkick Murphy, who is very talented at shouting). Still have to put Flogging Molly as my fav though. Course The Pogues are in a class by themselves. imho.
The Young Dubliners rock, and this is one of their newest hits. It's on "Saints and Sinners", their February 2009 CD release. This is fascinating because it's an acoustic version that lacks much of the depth of their rock, but it's wonderful none-the-less. I can't wait until they come back to their home (Los Angeles) and play the weekend before St. Patrick's Day. They are going to rock seriously. They always do.
