I'm 35, there's lots of music I like from my childhood and adolescence... but I love /this/ era and so does everyone else love it - when John Fogerty was in town, the whole family went - everyone from my grandmother to my youngest cousin, ALL SHARING THE MOMENT, enjoying some truly timeless music. Swing, disco, Cyndi Lauper are all mostly forgotten, CCR and the others will be remembered forever like Beethoven and Mozart!!

When he played with Springsteen, who also opposed the Iraqi War well before the invasion, at the Vote For Change concerts 04, he played, "Deja Vu All Over Again," and then "Fortunate Son." Opposition to the Iraq War was the issue that all the muscians had in common at these shows.

Good grief. Twenty-six people don't like this? Are they Pro-War? Ignorant of who fights America's war? Or do they just not like rock & Roll. This is the greatest anti-war song to come out of Vietnam, and their were a lot of them. And great rock & roll, by one of the greatest American song-writers, ever.

@gold5000000 You're right. But John Fogerty was very much against the Vietnam War when he wrote it. And he's been against the war in Iraq since before the invasion.
When he played with Springsteen, who also opposed the Iraqi War well before the invasion, at the Vote For Change concerts 04, he played, "Deja Vu All Over Again," and then "Fortunate Son." Opposition to the Iraq War was the issue that all the muscians had in common at these shows.
I'll stand by: "it's an anti-war song."

My wife is an expert. She's been making me think up is down and black is white since before we were married.
In fact, I was on my last date with her to gently end our relationship when she pulled something out of a bag. Next thing I knew, I was in France, married.

This is my favorite song by fogerty...when it 1st came out,it was about the draft for veitnam,but it fits perfectly with the war in iraq and afganistan.I love how he's still rockin'.The song is timeless.100 thumbs up !!.....I can't understand how 25 people voted the song down.They must be tone deaf,or simpliy retarted.
