  • This Reminds me on GoodBurger :-)

  • I used to roll my budd with the album cover back then.Love Funkadelic!

  • Grad school at Western, jammin' with the woman I should have married, great memories.

  • Probably one of the biggest reference in synthesise bass ever. Class tune end timeless.

  • No BSN.....He straight brung it! HARD....mmj

  • Thumbs up if good burger brought you here!

  • @rapeyokids123 hell yea i just saw it a hour ago

  • Recently demanded the DJ at a wedding to quit playing his bullshit because the dance floor was EMPTY and play Knee Deep. He refused for two more songs as dust gathered on the dance floor. Finally he played the song and within a minute there were 4 girls dancing with ME. DJ told me he would never do a gig again and not play Knee Deep.

Could this be me, immersed in funk so deep?

  • this type of music will never get old i played it at a party ppl still got up and danced their asses off : )

  • I remember when this came out. That was a party. We jammed so hard in that old house, the floor almost gave in. They moved the speakers outside, the party moved outside and people were running there cars, trucks in the ditch to get to the party. PARLIAMENT, FUNKADELIC, BOOTSY COLLINS, SIR NOSE, ONE NATION WAS DEFINITELY UNDER A GROOVE THAT NIGHT. WOW!!!! WHAT A PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HERE WE GO!!!

  • Phillippe Wynne hung out singing with George Clinton in the early days before he joined The Spinners and came back to sing with his friend George, I was there when Phillippe had a heart attack he will always be solrely missed. Everytime I hear this song I hear him no matter who is singing it today.

  • 9:44-9:49 De La Soul's Me, Myself, and I sample

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH !!!!!!!!!!! make me wanna go to da skatin rink.

  • Phillppe Wynne's adlib MADE this the cut that it is! He left The Spinners and took off!

  • Goodburger!

  • This is exactly why pluto is no longer a planet, the plutorians just would not funk, or deeper still get knee deep...so K-zar had to execute great wrath upon them with furious anger. Now their planet is just a star.

  • One of my sisters or Brother had this album

  • This brings back some memories! I was preteen and we would dance so hard to this.

  • @tjfarri1 LOL, I was a lil kid myself and couldn't afford the complete album, so I rocked the 45 single which had parts 1 and 2 of the song, and it was STILL too short!!

  • @tjfarri1

Yeah, brings back so many memories.

It almost brought me to tears. Jr. high school days, jolly rangers, atari, lunch boxes.

    Those were the days.

  • If you werent bumpin this in ya ride at the carwash, you wasnt bumpin S**T, or in whoever's car you got to take and wash, (just keepin it real), but it had to be the long version, my dad had a van in those days so I just knew I was the coolest lil cat.......couldnt tell me nuthin!!!

  • I can remember when this came out! My friends and I were hosting a party at our apartment party room in Memphis and we had been serving PGA punch all night long along with other party favors. When we played this, everybody hit the dance floor singing the intro and the hook. We partied so hard that the walls were sweating and they wouldn't let us use the party room again. They just don't do it like that any more. Classic!

  • Wyjebane!!

  • I used to like this music, but then I took an arrow in the knee deep...

  • @LimaSeta I use to have an arrow to knee , until I played Skyrim and met tons of digital fellow beings that also took an arrow to knee , so it took my arrow to the knee back , so now I still actually have an arrow to the knee, like you.

  • @bokeemo1

Holy crap! Beaumont! Blue and Gold.

I wasn't too far from you. Central HS. Natural Bridge in the house!

  • i appreciate the p-funk so much, they were talkin but.............we sure wasn't listening! and now that i do class is always in session!

  • Is it possible for a song to embody, maintain and reflect all aspects of honey thick funk until the end of time without getting stale? If we were to come back to Earth in 600 years would people still be sweating to this cut on the dance floor?

  • After all these years, this joint is still crack!!!!!

  • I'm 22 I LOVE FUNKY OL SKOOL MUSIC I WOULD DANCE TO THIS NEVER GETS OLD

  • who did the guitar solo in the middle of the song?

  • @MysticSonic007 Micheal Hampton

  • Whenever radio stations have a countdown of the all time greatest dance jams, this is more often than not NUMERO UNO! How long that will last is anyones guess, but the fact that George Clinton's funk is still holding it down after all these years should tell you something. No one has or ever will do it better!

  • Cleveland Ohio jams out with the FUNK....OH YEA... real music for real people

  • one of the MOST underrated bands in history!!!

  • I was only 19 when this jam came out, and I don't know about the rest of the world, but north minneapolis had more house patries than anywhere during this era of P-Funk.! Thanks people!!!!!!

  • My niggers, I remember entering my first high school Dance at Serramonte High School in Daly City, California, it was September 1979, and man that was the first dance I'd ever gone to, and the DJ was playing this tune, and the place was thumpin' and rockin! Thanks for the memories Seand67 and Funkadelic! This has got to be one of the most iconic soul funk tunes of the 20th century. Peace, love, and prosperity to all!

  • I so adore hearing Phillippe scat!!

  • this my MF theme song.

  • We were all over the skating floor / disco floor on this one, "THE FULL 15 MINUTE VERSION" at top speed and still wasn't tired. Well, if you put it on now, "A FULL 15 SECONDS ON THE FLOOR" and a good massage afterward will do just fine.

  • Who's playing the guitar?

  • @MinisterLynne That's Michael Hampton One of his most celebrated performances is the lead guitar solo on the Funkadelic hit single "(Not Just) Knee Deep" from 1979, as well the title track to the Brides Of Funkenstein's second album Never Buy Texas From A Cowboy.

  • They would play this at the teen disco I went to when they were closing down and all the dancers hit the floor on this on. You had to have great stamnia to last on this on song and very few kids could last on Knee Deep.

  • My mother loves this song....and dances all her old school dances and tells stories of her elementary school days(I guess that's when this song was out for her)!

  • MAN!!!!! At long last the Extended version of this PFUNK classic!!!! I am stunned!!! Thank you for posting this!!!!!

  • @Lar112 No, this is not the extended version, my friend. It is the original album version. Any radio station who plays the short version should have their license revoked and be kicked off the air. It is a sin to play the short version of this Funk MASTERPIECE!!!

  • THANK-YOU! For this long version...all these years I had no idea the lead vocals were the lead singer of the Spinners. Sounds soooooo MUCH better than the short version.

  • @wellnesswithdeb You're welcome

  • @wellnesswithdeb Awwww funkay-funkay!!!! I love this!

  • @wellnesswithdeb

Me & my friends used to go out & dance this entire length of this song. Of course that 25+ years & pounds ago!

What memories, brings tears to my eyes & ants to my pants!!!!

  • @wellnesswithdeb--- Phillipe Wynn was co-lead along with Garry Shider... Garry really owned this cut... his vocals were just overpowering...
