Texas Petawatt Laser

It doesn't slice anything - not planets, moons or metal. It does exist at the University of Texas (Google anyone?). It is exceptionally POWERFUL, but not very ENERGETIC. Because it fires for such a tiny amount of time it only produces about 100 Joules. However it's still super-useful for physics experiments, just not for cutting and destroying.. lol.

I find this extreemely difficult to beleve, 1, thats a rediculous amount of power - where would it come from? even a massive industrial generator for cities doesnt put out anything near that. 2, previously, i was finding that there wasnt anything above 20-45 megawatts. I find that this is a rather large gap to cross. 3, i dont even think a 2ft copper rod would be able to conduct that much without institaneously melting, seeing that this is a rediculous amount of power.
