  • @stripedblood

CHRIST! I see what you mean. There is one guy leaning on his arm with a bored expression. Spoilt brats!

  • when Mott the Hoople were a rock band

  • im not born yet, but luv the rock n roll... nice song n sound for that time i think

  • Audience is on ludes .

  • Lucky enough to see them at the reunion in 09: Hunter was awesome!

  • I wonder who's playing keyboards and being kept in the shadows?

  • Morgan Fisher, piano - stage right, and Blue Weaver, organ - stage left.

  • @dunara - Mick Bolton was on organ here.

  • @StephenRedrobe I believe you're right, Stephen; my bad. Blue had been claimed back by his Bee Gee employers, and MB did the US tour. Forgot this was an American gig. Cheers, Colin

  • Ace Frehley must have watched this in 1973

  • It's a shame this version of MTH could not have stuck it out for a few more years and really gelled as a musical unit. Luther Grosvenor is a great guitarist, but you can tell he's still feeling his way around the songs in the solos.

  • I haven't listened to this in ages.

  • the greatest rock band ever.

  • Mott the Hoople changed my life when first seen them Sept. 1972 "In Concert", which we can't seem to post...met a girl from Liverpool, yeah...come on..rock out man! This vid is Excellent....

  • From Don Kirschners Rock Concert--I remember actually holding a dinky microphone up to the speaker of the TV to record this. I still have it on tape but it's like the bootlegs from the day---horrible but a slice of history

  • @theuncletodd - beautiful story! Reminds me of my teens.

  • Vids like this give evidence that older folks aren't joking when they say bands like the HOOPLE rocked long and hard, (and still do) GOD BLESS 'EM!!!

  • love it! Thanks a million for posting

  • I saw them the next year in Memphis with Queen and was the greatest concert of all time. What are these idiots doing sitting on their hands?

  • young woman didn't look too pleased with being grabbed by the neck like that. Cant say I blame her.

  • wow

  • What else you have locked away,...C'mon, out with it. !!!

  • Lyrics.. I want Lyrics!

  • Are these vids from show that songs were culled from for Don Kirshner's Rock Concert.?

  • @zped99 yep

  • for some reason Hunter reminds me of Robert Plant right here... probably the hair but idk his mannerisms seem similar but ya vocals are definitely way different

  • Så djävla tokbra på ren svenska!

    The best ever!!

  • @ramsenacka

Ja inte hittar jag något bättre uttryck. Här kan man snacka om "Rockar fett"!

  • Luther (Ariel) must have just left Stealers Wheel within days or weeks of this, because their last single featuring him - "Everything Will Turn Out Fine" - was just being released about that time. Gerry Rafferty - RIP.

  • @rockon18 Amen to that we miss you Gerry, did Mick Jones replace Luther in Spooky Tooth? was Gary Wright an original member of Spooky Tooth?

  • @LabelBob Yes, Mick Jones did replace Luther, and Gary was an original member of Spooky Tooth as was Luther, Greg Ridley, bless him, Mike Harrison, and Mike Kellie. Greg was replaced by Chrissy Stewart, then by Val Burke for the last album, Mike by Bryson Graham, and Mike Harrison by Mike Patto, RIP. Mick and Gary Wright was the last holdouts for the last album, the little-known but one of their finest, "The Mirror".

  • Always thought Ian Hunter was one of the coolest rock n rollers.

  • stonkin vid and song and band !

  • nice, thanks

  • How many more treasures you got locked away Steven ?

  • I have not seen these vids before...... where have they been all these years???? THey are WONDERFUL!

  • What a romantic song...

  • these clips are amazing! thanks.

  • Incredible posting! thanks a million!

  • Brilliant stuff Stephen ! Long live the MOTT !!!

  • My all time favourite song.....finally seen live! Im ecstatic!

  • Oh Man....next to Leslie West, Bender is my favorite Les Paul Jr. mangler! Excellent video and thank you so very much for posting this, Stephen!!!
