In Mel B's Autobiograhy-Mel startes to notice how Geri becomes withdrawn from everyone and she starts to worry about her. Geri suffered from depression and bulimia and would never acknowledge it to the public or the girls-and broke thier "Pack" which they had made among the five of them-that they would tell the group if they planned to leave.
Sorry but in my opinion Geri was VERY selfish. Maybe she did feel all that she said but she had no reason to as Geri was probably one of the most important girls in the group, and the most popular etc. Like Mel B said If any of the girls had left it would have died, and I think at the back of her mind Geri knew that the girls would fail without her, but she believed she was going to be the next Madonna so she didn't care! It's sad she left when she did they would have done SO much more.

Mel B is one who will hide her emotions, there is no way she wouldn't of been distraught, the girls had been together for around 4/5 years and people forget that. Posh is skinny but she's not anorexic and doesn't have any other eating disorder for that matter. Anorexic girls wont have a frame like hers. Her neck and shoulders are just fine. Also, she's had 3 boys and has a girl on the way. I think I speak for every woman when I say that once you're pregnant your relationship to food changes. You don't care about what you eat - you just want to give the baby the best start possible.

Spice Girls: two words that, together, will always drum up insanely awesome memories of a VERY special time. The fab five were, and are, amazing. Geri, Mel C, & Emma were always my faves, but I adore them all. This documentary is fantastic; their story is powerful, beautiful, & sweet. They were an ideal group of loving, loyal friends & talented bandmates to look up to. I have faith that there'll be future Spice reunions & activities; they'll never stop being who they are; long live girl power!

I think Simon Fuller was the SAME reason why the SG didn't continue their Reunion Tour - that he had PUSH the girls TOO FAR! They didn't really have a break - imagine doing LIVE concert NON-STOP for 17 NIGHTS!! That was absurd actually! And it ended up with the Girls couldn't continue their tour anymore coz they have CHILDREN now, who are schooling & everything..& in the end it's the fans all over the world being the victim! I think 5 or 6 concerts in UK was enough, then go to other countries.

I think was hurt me the most was the word SPICE is five letters( one girl per letter) and with geri gone, you just didn't have the full flavor you know??...she brought a certain comic and naive vibe to the group which was fascinating. I remember hearing from my older sister, a friend, or my mom saying the Geri left the Spice Girls. I was like shocked and wondering if this was true. Then later on Entertainment Tonight (ET) told all the viewers including myself that it's official Geri left the Spice Girls. I felt sad but not upset. That year in August, I went to my 1st concert of seeing them. During the show, the songs made me happy but looking at the stage was different because their is one person missing. I still love them.

I really give Victoria props in this segment for what she said about Geri leaving, and how them being able to do more dance moves or sing more parts didn't matter, because that wasn't what they were about; they were about being together, and without Geri, it just wasn't the same. That was a really touching segment, and I really appreciated that, especially in comparison to Mel B's attitude toward the situation.

Since the "main voices" were Mel C., Emma, & Mel B. I think Geri was, indeed feeling "redundant" (6:59). Interesting though that the band was based so much on chemistry: though vocally and dance-wise, Geri was the most challenged, her personality was a big factor in why the Spice Girls worked. I think Mel C. probably didn't feel fully appreciated for what she was contributing to the band (i.e. her voice being essential to the band) and hence the somewhat negative comments from her.

I guess I'm not the only one who felt that the group was incomplete without here because of how difficult it was to continue my fandom for them over the next year or so. I remember hearing from my older sister, a friend, or my mom saying the Geri left the Spice Girls. I was like shocked and wondering if this was true. Then later on Entertainment Tonight (ET) told all the viewers including myself that it's official Geri left the Spice Girls. I felt sad but not upset. That year in August, I went to my 1st concert of seeing them. During the show, the songs made me happy but looking at the stage was different because their is one person missing. I still love them.

I really give Victoria props in this segment for what she said about Geri leaving, and how them being able to do more dance moves or sing more parts didn't matter, because that wasn't what they were about; they were about being together, and without Geri, it just wasn't the same. That was a really touching segment, and I really appreciated that, especially in comparison to Mel B's attitude toward the situation.

But you know the strangest thing - I read Victoria's biography, and in it she talks about Geri leaving and says "it made things easier from a choreography point of view - any dancer will tell you it's easier to choreograph a routine with 4 dancers than it is with 5"
So its kinda the opposite to what she says here. But maybe when she wrote the book she was still angry with Geri or something?

@spider23000 How is that opposite? Here, she says nothign was that important than Geri leaving the group. In the book she just states the choreography was easier vecause it's harder to make it for a 5 member group. This is not opposite, it's just different aspects.

But Geri left in the MIDDLE OF A WORLD TOUR! They had time to figure out the Geri situation, they had mere hours to figure out the concert situation as they still had a few shows in Europe.

Since the "main voices" were Mel C., Emma, & Mel B. I think Geri was, indeed feeling "redundant" (6:59). Interesting though that the band was based so much on chemistry: though vocally and dance-wise, Geri was the most challenged, her personality was a big factor in why the Spice Girls worked. I think Mel C. probably didn't feel fully appreciated for what she was contributing to the band (i.e. her voice being essential to the band) and hence the somewhat negative comments from her.

i was in 7th grade when they were huge and 4 of my friends and I dressed up like them for the talent show and sang wannabe. we are boys by the way. i was geri and the teacher made me take grapefruits out of my bra and replace them with oranges. haha God I feel old now.

I remember when the Spice mania was happening, I was a huge fan..I was an eight-year old girl, how could I not love Emma who also like pink and was "baby" spice, etc..And I remember a friend of mine showed me a magazine which said that the SG may be breaking up because Geri may be leaving, and me and my other friend literally dived for it to see what the article would say..It was so crazy, I was crushed when Geri left; but I understand her and love her still.

There's no need to get all haughty about knowing about "wars, suffering, or politics." And there's certainly no need to stereotype Spice Girls fans. They come from different backgrounds and walks of life, from high school dropouts to Ph.D. candidates. :-)

i dont think it'll ever be the same again if the spice girls returned.. they were the best of THAT time (mid nineties) like they said, there were predominately boy bands.. nowadays, single artists are valued more..their time is just up, but i loved them! Their image was young, fresh, funny, little girls.. but they're too mature now. What audience would they appeal to at the age they're all at? But they were amazing, and i absolutely adore their songs, GENIUS!

@DoITakeANumber It was just about a month before I turned ten when that happened. I guess I'm not the only one who felt that the group was incomplete without here because of how difficult it was to continue my fandom for them over the next year or so. I was quite surprised when I found out about a couple of years ago that they reinformed, which believe it or not was right around the time I graduated high school like I mentioned in the first part.
