What form is this... Not only do I like the form, this is the best expression I've seen on YouTube for yang style. One of the only videos where you can see the Jin. This looks like a great river moving. Most people (including almost every "taiji champion") look like a stagnant slew (spelling?)
I can't help myself not to 'rebut' your points. If you think this kind of movements look like a great river moving, then your eyes need to be checked. This dude had scoliosis...if he was such a great performer, what happened to him when he was young? Abusing his own body and paid the price when getting old? Flowing movements have many interpretation, this dude moved in 'jerky motion', not flowing at all. The 'jin' you talked about, well...everyone can do it :-)
@pribadi8406 I agree with your comment on the scoliosis. Ideally you would think that proper practice would prevent that. On the other hand I do think that he looks to have good issuing ability. If he really is as poor as you say he is, it is interesting that he was the last closed door disciple of Yang Chen Fu. Im not exactly what that is suppose to mean as I never pushed with Yang Chen Fu, and for all I know he was just a fat tub of lard. But I imagine he had skill and saw skill in Hu
Hu Yuen Chou was my master and I have followed him for many years. He was the 4th generation of Yang's Style Tai chi family. What he had demonstrated was really what he leant from Yang chin fu, the fouder of this style, other than this, he could put everything into his pushing hand techniques. Thanks for posting this vedeo.
Wow! I heard stories about him defeating Russian boxer in a boxing match. I started CLF a decade after he died and never got the chance to see his Kung fu skills. Thanks for the video. His movements are amazing!
