No, mine is the polymer handle one, exact same as being thrown in the video. And i don't think in less than a year the head should become lose after use. Over time usually refers to years down the road.
I have owned this tomahawk. Had to get a replacement. By throwing it and hacking at wood only, the ferrule bends and gets deformed from the head moving slightly in the handle. Eventually the first had to get replaced because the head moved back and forth by hand and ferrule cracked and slid up an inch over base of head. Replacement is begining to do same thing. Had them for less than a year.
@discipled7645 if you had the hickory one they say right on their proof videos that its the head thats important the hickory handle is going to chip and break and need to be replaced with normal use.
@armyson55 Check out the comment before yours, that guy already stated they are $20 each, so there was no need for you to repeat it. armyson55 and MrWoodywoodward27 are thumbs up whores.
check out your local walmart, i got one for 20 dollars, thats what there selling them at, there in cardboard boxs with chrismas stuff on it with 20$ logo on the outside of them.
Now that's one way to cut down a tree. Awesome throwing Jim!
Those SOG hawks look great for throwing. What kinda material are the handles? I've already destroyed the hickory handle on my CS hawk, and wanna get something poly and double edged instead.
And then Tree said "What th heck man? What did I do to you!"

@tapastrat just bought one today at wal-mart, $17!

This isn't the SOG Fast Hawk is it? Looks bigger. I Assumed they were the same. Might have to get one of these now. Is the handle replaceable?
tapastrat 2 months ago
@tapastrat The SOG Fasthawk & the SOG Tactical tomahawk are different. The Fasthawk is smaller then the Tactical tomahawk.
Fasthawk:Overall length: 12.5'' Blade length: 2'' x .26'' Weight: 19 oz.
Tactical: Overall length: 15.75" Blade length: 2.75'' x .26'' Weight: 24 oz.
I just bought my SOG Fasthawk at Walmart (in store, not online) for $20 (It's $40 at Bass Pro, online).
Hope that helped!
