  • I love their original version better...but that's just me!!!

Always will be an AWESOME tune, though!!!!! :-)

  • We are learning in our Advanced Women's choir at my high school 3

  • @rosebilly95 Great, women singing low to sing the tenor line...

  • mmmm... no no... esto no es "mexican spices"

  • i listen to this when i eat Chili con Carne

  • 16 people don't like Mexican sunshine.

  • thumbs up if you translated the top comment

  • I love it!

  • @getwithit13 then learn it on solfedge first. It always helps learn things faster

  • We're singing this song in my Vocal Jazz group at school. It's really hard to learn.

  • @Milkdudds92 Make that 14 people! Shame on you people!

  • Goosebumps. I've had the original version sounding in my mind for decades and this new version is a tremendous update. it keeps the original dirve and groove while adding the right amount of electronics and current typical audio enhancements.

  • My high school choir is singing a small fraction of this. It's so much easier for me to learn it while hearing the melody. Xp

  • I love harmony!!!

  • @HugoMadizon Well it's very basic though, based on I-IV and (VI-)II-V-I chord progressions, which are very common in popular music or jazz. For example, Mexican spices section chords are Am7-Dm7-Gsus-G9-Cmaj7-Bm7b5-E7b9 (A7/C# when going to the chorus). VI-II-V-I (Am-Dm-G-C) and II-V-I (Bm-E-Am), simple as pie.

  • the flavor of mexican sunshine xD LMFAOROTF!!!!

  • ㅋㄲㅈㅁ!!!

  • Check the guy 2nd from right: Since when did Matthew Bellamy from Muse sing a cappella?!

  • When your mouth gets full of fire you might need something to drink, one or two three or seven beers will be enough ;]

  • ...I'm hungry...

  • i had that last night and i gasped and told my mom

"DONT FORGET THE MEXICAN SPICES!! "0

  • Guess what I'M having for dinner?

  • I never heard this song till 2 weeks ago a group from San Francisco came to sing for us and they were singing this song i just love it from their on! :)! "Chile con carne" ;)

  • Dude, my jazz choir is doing this song this year. I'm so freakin' pumped.

  • @ellielibbers Mine too! Maybe we're in the same choir?

  • OK I love this song and what you do to it blows me away! I need to come back 3-4 times per year to listen to it (and I'm not even a real a capella buff either!). However, listening to it also makes me angry; what are we mortals supposed to aspire to as far as singing is concerned after you flaunt this at us, huh? Choke on your damn chili con carne! HA! Just kidding (sort of).... but OK seriously, you guys nailed it with this one. Respec', Kim from Finland

  • 콩까지마

  • i was a tenor and there was this part where i couldn't breath for like 30 singing BA RA chiki. fuckin sucked, but this song was dope

  • @DannyOlalia ....haha whats funny, is i tried being a suprano and had to Ba Ra Chicki for ever to...then i switched to second suprano...YAY ME!

  • @amazinrazin101 lol

  • What do you people mean, it's hard..... I sang this in my highschool jazz girlband and we didn't think it was that hard...

  • @HoggyWartyHogwarts it is a hard song, it has a crapload of clashes, the parts don't mess together well, and key changes. If you sang it in a girlband i'm guessing you did not have basses and maybe not tenors unless you had some manly girls, soooo you were missing out on major parts of the song. Also did you sing it withOUT the backup music, because that way you all have to stay in key with one another by ear when your parts sound different and you do key changes.

  • My brother hated this song so much that he stole all the copies from our choir director's office and hid them. To this day, 6-8 years later, we have never found them. The director has also never attempted to do this song at school while my other brothers were there.

  • singing this in my high school choir at west boca high school...im a sop2 =)

  • Singing this in my Chamber choir :) I'm an alto.

  • I sang this in high school. It's a real tough song to sing right!

  • haha i'm singing this in Mads...it's SO hard!

  • great version. I'm singing this in choir too. I'm sop 2

  • 這個版本也好好聽唷~

  • Our Women's chior did this and we had so much fun... I wish I would have gotten the recording

  • 콩까지마!

  • 오오 황신이시여..

  • @tlsdml45 WTF???

  • To those who doubt:

This is not the original. It is a new version, though by The Real Group themselves. And I don't know if they have remixed it, I think they did, and if so, they did it themselves, with nothing else than their voices (and maybe other part of their bodies).

    They are amazing.

  • i love this :)

  • had been talkin to my friend and she said the name of the song ad i thot she ahd said "Chili is Horny" not "Chili con Carne" good song tho!

  • best song ever!

  • Im a freshman and our vocal group is doing this song its a pain in the butt but its great and really fun

  • blooooming heck!!!! This is ssoooo diffficult if ur trying to pick up the lines as i am! lols but its soo good! im doing altho part and were donig it with caltalina for music mid somerset festival :) xxxx.

  • BRA!

  • just perfect for leisuring time...

  • Comment removed

  • This is a remix of The Real Group. Someone layered the song over a (pretty funky) beat and cut the voices up a little. There's a true version of the song on youtube, just look in related links.

  • this is actually off of one of there albums

  • and be careful not to get an upset stomach!!!

  • were doing this song in my youth choir group. i luv this song <3

  • lol we are too thats awesome

  • don't forget don't forget THE MEXICAN SPICES :p

  • sorry if this is a dumb question but is this a-capella??

  • 100% acapella. Everything they do in concerts and CDs is, and with 30 years of perfrming that makes alot!

  • acapella is when you sing a song without any background music. ONLY the singing.

Hope this answers your question! :P

  • i'm doing this song right now with my vocal jazz ensemble (i'm on the mezzo part)-- two practices and we've nailed it. i'm really not sure why lots of high school ensembles find this song so hard.... it's about being in the groove and recognizing what your role in the song is. great song, simpler than it apparently seems.

  • well good for you deathbyhighfashion... i dont think that lots of high school ensembles find this song that hard....

  • @gingerbreadman2012 Agreed, I'm in high school right now and our ensemble has this song down.

  • @gingerbreadman2012 Have you ever seen the acatual choral arrangement of this song?! This version is sooooooo watered down. You don't hear all of the tight harmonies that come with doing this with a 6-part chorus. I suggest you try singing this before you make that statement. Not to mention the fact this is recorded. Try it live acappella...trust me, I've been there.

  • @jadetango81 Seriously. Not such an easy song, after all.

  • Great that The Real Group also is popular in other countries...will meet and sing with The Real Group tomorrow, will be cool!

  • my high school choir is learning this, when the varsity choir did this song last year i totally fell in LOVE with it. but its a really hard song to learn! this has already helped me with my part a lot thanks!

  • I love this one! My choir is singing this...it's hard but I love it!

  • wierd lyrics but it sounds cool. I'm singing this in my concert choir.

  • i hate this song when you have to sing it in jazz choir uggggggggggggggggggggg but its a good song

  • Soo good!

  • awesome

  • at my school, when we set up our mics for singing, this is our song so we dance to it. its hilarious.

  • were doing this in choir. its amazing

  • Me too :D

  • haha it has such an interesting sound it XD

  • omygd our cantalina group is doing this. Ive only jus joined its flipping impossible!! x x x

  • this is the best song ive everrr heardzzz ! :)

  • "Chili con carne" or "Chili con calle"? I guess even professionals have trouble with articulation sometimes... ;)

Nice song with high feelgood factor, though!

  • Most likely the Swedish accent coming through there hehe

  • Their pronounciation is ok. They sing "carne" with british accent, so it sounds like "kahnah" and that`s ok.

  • hahahahaha it totally does!

  • @BassoNero- actually they're swedish... the accent is quite a bit different when spoken but you can't really tell when sung.

  • we sang this is our all freshman girls choir. it's a lot of fun with all all female voices too.

  • We had to sing this in choir my senior year. It was scary xD

  • i sing this in choir, its a good funny song! ;)

  • which choir do you go too? x x x

  • hehe everyone's smiling in the second (old) picture =] i miss the old soprano, but she had to pull diva and go solo haha

  • im hungry....

  • 1:52 the guy to the far right looks like he's wearing a woman's wig.

Or is just randomly changing genders.

  • Don't forget the mexican spices.

  • omgnublrn2spel

  • we have to sing this song too for our spring concert. i liked the song in the beginning...now...not so much. i like the real group version better compared to our SSA version

  • Wow, we are singing this in our women's group too!

yeah the wa p t kong.. section, scary stuff.. aha

  • this is quite hard to sing, heard this song on saturday in a concert. a couple of my friends sung this song in the opening ceremony. it was really cool. and it was a so called women's group. :)

  • @andrenord I'm sure it sounded great! I keep seeing all these comments about women's groups doing this song, and I wonder...how would it sound without the bass?

  • i hate this song we have to sing thisin chorus.... but it is kind of fun

  • I'm singing this in my Jazz Ensemble this year :)

It sounds lame but it's sooo fun! Lol.

    ~Lauren Alexis~

  • don't forget the mexican spices!

    awsome dude!

  • we're singing this in choir. Its actually coming...ok i guess ha ha. most of the people have no sense of rhtym (I probably spelled that wrong)

  • yeah, i;m singing this in chorus 2. we are in middle schoo though... we will probably sound bad...

  • me and my chorus 2!!

look at this... we're an italian choir, near milan!

we're not so good ( maybe were bad...) but it is so amazing!! :-)

  • I know what ya both mean. The best way to learn it is listen to it. I love the last minute at the reverb part.

  • HHAHAHAAA ASHLYN

  • The bass line is fr more pronounced here. nice

  • if there any lyrics i can get from this song? looking forward :) thanks!

  • Chili with meat. :]

  • 1:57...

the guy on the far right looks like he's wearing a dress!!

I know he's not really in one and all, but it looks like it.

  • BAHAHAHAHA!! True! :D:D:D

Thanks, that REALLY made me laugh!!

    *_^LEI-onsay

  • lol i am deeply sorry for every choir who has to sing this.. CHILI CON CARNE!!

don't forget the mexican spices :P

  • but... *sniff* if you forget the mexican spices, you won't get the flavor of sunshine!!!!!

    lol

I dunno... I kinda like this song, and its really funny that you mention it, because one of the choirs at our school is actually singing it... I wonder if they'll do good on it...

  • Our choir has sung Chili Cin Carne too.. Please write "PSM UGM" in search engine, and you can see our video there. Kindly need your comment. Thx.

  • don't they use any instrument? I think they used some percussion.. and I think they overlapped their voices, because at the end, there are more than 2 feminine voices at the same time.. I'm just curious.. what do you think?

  • it's not any "new" version.

    it's a remixed version.

  • it's all vocal

and they use a lot of reverb towards the end... that can sound like there are added voices...

    but its just those five...

    Freakin' Amazing!

  • can you please post "as rain"?

  • i love how its a capella and they can make it sounds like there's instrumental accompaniment

  • there's some percussion in the back, but it is truly amazing, huh?

  • Love love looooove this song!!!
