15 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" 16 Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." 17 Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.Matt.16:15-17
Being a Christian is not a religion, being a Christian is having a relationship with Jesus Christ, Jesus is great!! Yes Christians are crazy but we are crazy for Jesus Christ, believing in him, trust in him and he'll do beautiful things for you, Jesus says "ask and you shall receive" this world is magical, this world is beautiful, its great. I'm a proud Christian, i wake up happy everyday because i live to sever my Lord Jesus Christ!! :D
@wa042108 Dude what this video is showing is that people don't like Christians because of how RELIGION has made them. Christians i.e. followers of Christ means to be Christ-like. If people think only good things of Jesus, but only bad things of Christians, then there is a serious problem in the Church as they are not representing Christ well. Personally i'm skeptical about calling myself a "Christian" because of all the negativity it has attached to its name. I AM however a follower of Christ.
Well anyone who thinks that by telling me "You're going to burn in hell for eternity if you don't convert" you're going to get me to convert is just an idiot. Why would I convert to your religion after that incredibly rude statement, also if I don't believe in God or Hell how is that statement going to have any positive want to convert affect on me? I'm not saying all Christians are like that but some of them do tell me I will burn for all eternity if I don't convert, which is just plain stupid.
Why do so many Christians get angry when they have a different belief than another Christian? They use all CAPS and sometimes call names. They tell the person they are headed for Hell and God will judge them. Why not love and state your case but do it in a graceful way? It's no wonder so many people don't want anything to do with Christianity. Jesus is amazing but His followers, not so much.
I kinda agree with this video. I am a Christ-follower and such. I do believe and I have accepted him into my life but HOLY CRAP!! There really are some insane Christians out there!
Everyone loves the Savior who was just a "friend," gives salvation freely and asks nothing of us. Oddly, even most Christians have this bizarre, simplistic view, which is not Biblical.
E.A.Wallis Budge translation of, 'The Papyrus of Ani' (1500BCE comp O.T.800-300BCE ish), other great writings are by Donald A. Mackenzie,' Egyptian myth and legend', James G Frazer, 'The Golden Bough', For sceptical Bible scholars try Thomas Paine, M. Twain, Joseph Wheless, Robert Ingersoll, C.Dennis Mckinsey, Victor J Stenger, Robert M Price, Dan Barker, John W. Loftus, Bart Ehrman, Gary Greenberg, Richard Carrier, David Mills, Valerie Tarico, Ken Humphreys, archaeologist Israel Finkelstein
Well, all this video taught me is that people inside the church and outside of the church are the same... JUDGEMENTAL. LOL. That's why we need JESUS! :-)
Yeah, hey, i can edit videos to! leave in the good parts about Jesus and the bad parts about Christians! Its the miracle of Editing, or the Miracle of Jezus! ... no, just editing.
I apologize in the name of ALL hypocritical Christians worldwide for giving our religion a bad image and having people hate our religion because of us, and not acting the way Jesus taught us to.
@SerJahPhoto Do you not see how wrong it is that you not only conlcude that that man is homosexual based on only a few sentences, but then also dismiss his opinion because of it? This is exactly the kind of judgemental, unloving behavior that this video is addressing. I say this as a Christian and from a place of love: you need to take a look in the mirror.
@chicgeek2008 oh, no! Was i unloving? That's terrible! I'm so horrible...
Let's love everybody. Love wins! Hurrayluyah! I love you dear fellow christian, do you love me?
BTW, i don't consider myself as unloving toward gays, maybe a bit indifferent, but in no way hateful or "unloving".. I feel sorry for them.. Isn't it part of love?
@SerJahPhoto It's a waste of your energy to "feel sorry" for gay and there is no need to feel sorry for them. They are living their lives like you are living your life and I'm sure you wouldn't want people to feel sorry for you, either. As long as you are treating people with respect, that's all that matters. Good day.
Now that THAT unpleasantness is over, let me say that I realize I was wrong for being so harsh to the child. I might have handled the situation far better, and I'm sorry I responded so unprofessionally. I hope you'll all understand, and possibly forgive me. If not, that's still your choice, and I'll respect it nonetheless.
Jesus lovingly convinced others to follow Him, unless they already knew and rejected the Truth to cause suffering... in which case - especially as it related to hypocrites, - Jesus had no problem getting up in their faces, especially in public.
ouch. this is real. needed to be done. to every other Christian out there, stop arguing, accept the reality that we've been screwing up royally when it comes to portraying the image of God/Christ. Let's all repent as a body and seek a real encounter with His Love.
the only thing i can say is i am a christian and i know that there are so many people that profess to be christians and are not the are talkers and not doers and dont have the love of jesus in there hearts true TRUE christians are verry understanding loving and caring people and non judgmental and want to reach out to people and not ridicule them and shove the bible in there faces every chance they get.
Although Christians deserve much of he blame for the bad reputation they have in these days -- not being a "friend of sinners", which Jesus had a reputation for being -- much of the blame for their bad rap comes from negative portrayals in the media (which our society absorbs itself in).
But again -- it goes both ways. Much of the bad portrayal is due to bad examples set.
The world thinks Christians are "Westboro Baptist" because Christians do not universally condemn that demonic hate cult.
@BrianTheMusicMan And, you are a person; which makes you one of the people.
What kind of sane model of humanity posts something like, "People are dumb", and "Jesus was a crazy douche"? I chalk your entire post up to projection. Of course, you'll probably come up with some snide remark, based partially on your intrinsic offense at the truth that you were projecting your own flaws onto people and Jesus; but, when one contends with a member of the herd, that's to be expected.
@dameon692002 Wow, the snide remark you came up with was totally deep man; I've just been projecting my insecurities onto others and historical figures in order to feel better about myself - thanks to you I'm going to be more like you. But perhaps this reply is just based on those intrinsic casual forces that you so correctly interpreted as offended by truth, so maybe you shouldn't buy into my praise of your herd shielding blathering about how you over-intellectually interpreted a youtube post.
@BrianTheMusicMan Aww, did I upset you? Did I hurt your wittle feewings? I'm so sorry... it's not like you hurt anybody else's feelings or reputation with that joke. And, what a hilarious one it was! "Christians are dumb and Jesus-" the guy who said love your neighbors and give to the poor, and all that stuff,- "was a crazy douche". Says a lot about your moral fibre, doesn't it? Can't stand the heat, don't start the fire.
@dameon692002 Aww, did I upset you enough to make you resort to laughable cliches like "did I hurt your wittle feewings"? I'm so sorry... Ah, how lovely that you know nothing about Jesus and yet try to talk to strangers as if you had any idea as to what he was all about. Maybe you should try doing a little more research instead of just blindly accepting the herd interpretation of Jesus.
What heat? Your comments have all been empty rhetoric and assumptions based on arbitrary interpretations.
@BrianTheMusicMan Hmm... this from the guy who trolls with comments like, "Christians are dumb" and "Jesus was a crazy douche". Yeah, MY arguments are all empty rhetoric and assumptions based on arbitrary interpretations. Quit crying in your beer; and either stand by what you so ignorantly posted, or admit that you were being asinine. Your projections, straw-men, and propagandized rhetoric are getting you nowhere.
@BrianTheMusicMan Wow. You're such an expert. Where's your degree on any religious topic? Oh, you don't have one? So, how is your recycled rhetoric any better than my calling you out for such a ridiculous comment? And, as for research, I defy you to post some of the "research" that led you to conclude that Jesus was a "crazy douche". Can't? Not surprising... Got another joke for us, or are you done with your ridiculous excuses for smear-campaigning?
@dameon692002 Did you even read the passages the mentioned or did you just fall back on the silly request for some kind of degree which isn't required to know simple historical knowledge? Maybe you should check out some scholarly books like "Jesus: Apocalyptic Prophet of the New Millennium" by Bart D. Ehrman, who went to Princeton Theological Seminary and teaches at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and knows Greek and Hebrew. Hmmm, but no, you're so right, there is no research...
@BrianTheMusicMan Citing propaganda makes your position true? what about Dr. Craig Blomberg, Dr. Bruce Metzger, Dr. Edwin Yamauchi, Dr. John McRae, Dr. Gregory Boyd, Dr. Ben Witherington III, Dr. Gary Collins, Dr. D.A. Carson, Louis Lapides (M.Div., Th.M.), Dr. William Lane Craig, Dr. Gary Habermas, and Dr. J.P. Moreland? You want to throw out experts, here are some that far supercede your one doctor, whom they've put to shame with their commentaries on the subject. First, do your homework.
@dameon692002 So your citing Christian propaganda makes your position true? First, read the new testament without imposing your superstitious nonsense onto the historical reality. This is my last comment because talking with Christians is meaningless since they aren't interested in the truth but only their dogma.
@BrianTheMusicMan More straw-men, more cherry-picking, more propaganda... no more intellect. That one brain cell you barely contain must be close to burning out. Your projection bores me. If you're done, and you have no better argument to make than, "You're a stupid doo-doo head, and I'm ignoring you", that's your problem. Again: an adequate education - and, perhaps, some high boosts of acetylcholine to your puny brain, - will work wonders for you. You have my pity, until that time. Farewell...
@BrianTheMusicMan Yeah, one crackpot against all those reputable experts that far supercede his menial amount of "expertise"... he's really climbing a hill, here, isn't he? Of course, you still can't get over the schooling you're getting, can you? Just admit your prejudiced and asinine comments, and gracefully apologize... or, make more of a fool of yourself. I don't care, either way.
And how easy to show that people are indeed stupid, especially when it comes to the person of Jesus! Most serious biblical scholars agree that Jesus was most probably a Jewish apocalypticist who believed that a wrathful angel called the son of man would come to establish a new jewish kingdom on earth. That's why passages like Matthew 16:27-28, Mark 13:24-31 and 8:38-9:1 say "There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom."
@BrianTheMusicMan Care to cite some of these "biblical scholars" of yours, or are you just ripping off the typical Jehovah's Witnesses interpretation? And, where do you get anything about an angel, called the "son of man"? Some scholars you consulted... they can't tell that there's no credence for the belief that angels are humans? And, did you ever stop to think that the Kingdom did come with power? Remember, Luke 24:49 says they had to tarry in Jerusalem, until it happened.
@BrianTheMusicMan Also, it's clear we're not talking about an angel at all. In Ezekiel, a human being is called the, "son of man". In the Gospels, there is not one instance of Jesus referring to anyone, except Himself, by that particular phrase. Just because you have trouble reading past a sixth grade level, doesn't mean anybody else does. BTW, the Jesus Seminar crowd barely qualify as scholars of anything, except political rhetoric. Try consulting the multitudes of scholars who disagree w/them.
@dameon692002 Holy hell you are dumber than I thought, then again you are a Christian. When did I mention the Jesus Seminar? Ehrman wasn't in the seminar. And if you examined the passages I mentioned, its very clear that Jesus mentions the son of man and he's not talking about himself, that's an interpretation you are imposing through your obsession with the unreliable sources like Paul and the G of John. Read Mark 13:24-31 and 8:38-9:1 and try to tell me he isn't a crazy douche.
@BrianTheMusicMan Gee, you're not really known for your brains, morality, or courage, are you? Some projections you're throwing, eh? Your "expert" is connected to the Jesus Seminar by the citation of his work; which, if you had half the brains of a slug, you'd know. You obviously can't read any better than a young child, because all you do is cherry-pick and throw out some purile insults, and call it intellectual gold. Perhaps you're talking about the man in the mirror, more than anybody else...
@BrianTheMusicMan Are those the only verses you've read? That's right; you don't read... you let others read to you, and you just take their word for it. When you've gone back to school, and proven your literacy - and we won't even begin to discuss your lack of attention to detail or abysmal excuse for research, - then you'll have something to stimulate me intellectually. Otherwise, you're just wasting my time. But, ever the doormat, I'll continue stroking your fragile ego with replies...
@Susdgs you miss understand christianity personally I don't hate gays or anyother sinners im simply following christ jesus commands and I only hate the sin, you may wish what you want to believe but when the time comes we ALL will be judged.
Jesus is very loving and kind, but I think he might of "impressed" some people too. what would you say to a guy that says "No one goes to the Father except through me?" and then cast demons out? and all sorts of other things...that would've freaked some people out. Just saying. I think that they have a misconception of Christ. He is loving AND straightforward ! Be blessed
I find modern christianity an oxymoron. They talk "love your fellow man", when what they actually mean is "love all those like us". Christians hate gays, divorced women, ect. They will deny it and claim "we hate the sin, not the sinner", completely missing the point, that they either love ALL people, as Jesus did, or they are judge mental bigots. And apparently they also like to claim anyone not agreeing with them just has to have a demon. ha ha ha!
@SusDgs You are completely generalizing. Jesus loved everyone, but that does not mean that he loved their sins. In the story of the woman who was about to be stoned to death for being stoned, he saved her from getting stoned. He also told her to get up and sin no more. The whole point of being a Christian is to follow Christ completely. That requires us to love ALL people, but hate the things not of HIM (ie: premarital sex, homosexuality, adultery, murder). Not every person does this, I'll admit
think about it. why are we despised these days? not because of us being chosen, but because of many examples of us being cons, pedophiles, hypocrites, extremists, violent, judgemental, backstabbing, vengeful, forceful and manipulative and still claeim to be holy. I include myself in this as well to share and embrace the blame, but at the same time, we need to break these common conceptions of us.
I am a christian and i can't agree more with how the people view us. The common view of christians are people who quote scripture loosely just to get their way, people who take advantage or bully to voice their opinion. It is sad really. People only look at the bible verses they like and make life out of them. put it this way, people won't listen to 'turn the other cheek' because 'an eye for an eye' sounds better. I can't rave on this enough.
Like this video, shows the contrast of what people think of us Christians and gets you thinking about how other people see you. My answers would have been, Jesus: the one who loves you so much that no matter how many times you hurt him he always forgives you and he sees us all as equals. Christians: Not Perfect, but if true Christians will yearn to be like Jesus however If not true Christians they can create bad opinions about about Christians and Christianity.
Its such a shame that a person who gave His live for us is not even known by most of humanity.
And Christians are the same anyone else, just that we have diffrent believes . People I know don't even know I am christian, but when they see I am kind and loving they ask me if I am a christian.
John 15 18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept My saying, they will keep yours also.
When Christ came the world didn't understand him and why he was here and what he taught. Today the world is just as lost if not more so. When Christ came it was the religious that were more heavily criticised by Jesus. The Pharisees and Saducees were the ones most in danger of hell fire. Today I believe it is the same. The CHRISTIANS today I believe are the ones who quite possibly are most in danger of going to hell. Ironic huh? Not all christians...but many are lost in their "religion".
the world did not love Jesus, so they are not supposed to love us.
most of those who criticised christians hate Christians because they do not want to conform to the rules of this world, Christiansare concervativ. Christians go towards people, when they feel bad and all that, but when we bring them the TRUTH about there life and Jesus, they just do not accept that!
They just don t know who Jesus really is, and they do not understand why He came! am I lying?
@77JesusSaves What I am saying is that many Christians ARE conforming to the rules of this world and treating people in a very UN-Christ like way. What is to be hated? Sinners or sin? My problem is not with Christians who are conservative and reach out to sinners. My problem is with so called Christians who ARE worldly who believe that once you accept Christ that you automatically become perfect and incapable of sin and therefore able to set yourself up as Judge which only Christ can do.
@belugafishgod I am a Christian and I agree with you many Christians are that way and that is wrong, all I can hope is that I am not one and will not become one of those people and that people will realize that not all Christians are that way.
Jesus said "Go and do likewise". He did not say "Worship me", he did not say "Hate sinners", he did not say "God punishes some because others do not punish sinners", he did not say "Man was made to obey every religious law regardless of consequence". Fundamentalist Christians do.
the whole Great Point here is true! Jesus is Gods image and only begotten Son, However Christ was Perfect in Gods Eyes and in the eyes of man as we can see here. But Christians miss out on 1 thing that Christ said and did,Was that we must eliminate "SIN" from among us.Yet Christians today "think" like most of the world that its impossible to stop sinning. However thats not what Christ taught at all.-Be Perfect as your Father in heaven is Perfect..Matthew 5;48- IF God is sinles then u must be too
@34Adamlee77 - actually, i don't think that's why Christ came. He came to show how much God loves, and what great lengths He would go to in order to show the world how much He wants a relationship with each and every one of them. He died to eliminate our sin and shame, to break the barrier that kept us from trusting in Him and walking with Him as our Friend and Lord. Christians often focus so much on sin and hell, that they miss the point of why Jesus came. He came to love. go and do likewise.
@klipklopkeri ur right on that point. But if u read the books of Peter and James and Timothy etc. everyone of the apostles clearly tell u not to sin! for if u do u are an advocate to the father. & no sinner can enter into the Kingdom. Jesus showed Gods love yes But he also showed that man through the H.S can do all things even keeping the commandments. & thats what Jesus even did he gave us another commandment.#12 which was to love one another as he loved us. & to fufill the law, throu that love
And they didn't find a single person who was against this Jesus figure? Or did they simply make a point of not putting a well diversified opinion in to the video? Hmmmm. You never know.
Maybe it was "II would have considered Christianity if it were not for the Christians" Im not sure but the point is there. The message is there but the people have polluted it.
Gandhi said it best " I might have been a Christian if it were not for Christianity". I said it in my videos too. We are starting to open our eyes and see the light. I was ex-communicated by my uncle because of what I think about God. He is a Bible thumping brain washed blind follower and I really pray that he will wake up one day. I wont say what religion he is, but it rhymes with matholic. ROFL!
What a lot of the people said about Christianity, about it being overpowering and rigid and such, is exactly what Christianity was meant to be. People may market it as a "feel good, love everyone" religion, but it's based on threats and rigid rules.
Religion evolves (it has to, or it will die out), and people try to make it fit the social norms today. But that's why Christianity is so watered down now. And this trend will continue as long as humanity keeps learning.
Why do atheists suck? Because they don't believe like you?
Fact and Challenge: How much you wanna bet an atheist knows more about the bible AND it's histories more than you do?? Hmm...
and it's a catch22 in the end... why? Because if it turns out that you DO know as much about the holy bible as an atheist does.. and you're STILL choosing to follow it then wow...that only says a lot about your character and it's not very good.
Mind you, I'm not an atheist.. but I know where they're coming from
Hmmmmm people are basically saying that the church isn't really being the church, interesting. The sad thing, that most Christians don't want to admit, is that we are for the most part no different than anyone else. The love of God ought to be powerful, revolutionary, mind-blowing. It should call us to love "druggies", "sluts", "baby killers", "dictators", "murders", and everyone else that society hates. Everyone that society says isn't a person we should love. But we're happy with mediocrity.
how sad... it seems like everybody misinterprets who God is, and what he has done... people take it for granted what God did for us... they are like "Yeah... he's a good guy." but they don't understand that he is an AMAZING God!!! He died on the sin for US, and wants you to have a personal relationship with him.
PS. Yes, I do mean we will do the miracles, signs and wonders, just in case anyone was wondering. Doing those things doesn't necessarily mean you are closer to Jesus though, but it does let others get a little closer to Him.
Maybe this is why people say these things about Christians. It's not because we are so awful, we're just not that good. Actually, if we would just relax a little and let ourselves breath, we might remember that being a Christian is an experience, and as the inward transformation begins to work it's way outward, what we were before trying to do, will just be. And the big gap between what Jesus did and what we do, will decrease. Then, we will be "little christ's" AKA Christians. Luv u
Why do we believe that if non-Christian people actually like us, then we are compromising the truth? Jesus healed the sick, cleansed the lepers, cast demons out of people(in fact, some demons even just fled when they realized that Jesus was there), forgave sins, rebuked the religious-minded, fed the masses, spent time with the lowly practically all the time, provided the booze at a wedding, raised the dead, and finally, oh yeah emptied himself on a cross.
I'm a "Disciple of Christ", "Christian", "Jesus Follower", "Born Again", "Believer", and any word you might throw at this fellowship we have with Christ. Call it "The Way" as it was in the beginning of the church. It doesn't really matter. We are Christ's. What this brother, (brother meant in the family sense, not the "church-y sense) is showing is simple. Many people, (doesn't matter if it's everyone) see a difference in what they understand of Jesus, and what they understand of "Christians".
Rather than beating ourselves up when non-beleivers call us "Bible-thumpers" and "crazy" and secularize the Gospel to appease them, we should make sure that indeed we are not being hypocrites and that we are proclaiming Christ as He is reveled in scripture, but always remembering that some aren't gonna want to hear it.
Non-Christians love to say that because Christians sin they are hypocrites. But Christianity is not about being sinless it is about being forgiven. Some Christians are hypocrites because they don't admit that they are sinners, and that needs to change. But Paul warned us that the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing. For some that is always going to be the case.
It is sad, but what was even more sad was what people thought of Jesus. I think only three of them said Savior, and I would bet they wouldn't really be able to articulate just what Jesus saves us from; sin, death, and the devil. Most of them just reduced Jesus to some liberal stereotype. One guy just reduced Jesus to a "pretty cool dude." That is pathetic. This video points to failings in the church, but not that we fail to be like Jesus, but that we have failed to proclaim who Christ is.

religion sucks. Jesus himself preached that. this video is a sad commentary of how the world sees His so called followers. seriously, followers of Christ, let's be Jesus to the world - uncompromising but full of love and compassion
Show me one passage where Jesus said religion sucks. He condemned the Pharisees for abusing their religious authority, but He never condemned religion as a whole.
Thank you!!! Right on. It is convenient for people to believe these ridiculous stereotypes about Christians because it gives them an excuse to not have to face their own sin. I wonder how many actual Christians most of those people know; probably very few. They just believe the negative stereotypes that they see in the media and on tv and in movies. Ironically that makes them every bit as religious as the Christians they self-righteously condemn.
hi everybody, before christian judism was the correct religion from god.but jews killed too many prophets and they said this religion came only for us.all human created by god so you cant say that this isfor us. then christian came with prophet Jesus.god gave him wonder Jesus but few people believe him. after people changes the bible.today many different version of bible.after islam came.all religion comes from the same god.jesus is our prophet as well.and killing is forbidden in islam
Interesting, but not surprising... True in many ways.... HOWEVER, there is one small detail regarding this survey that very few people will take into account.
What type of neighborhood was these 2 questions asked in!
For the record, I'm from Chicago and recognize those streets to be Fullerton, Lincoln, and Halsted.... one of the most liberal neighborhoods in Chicago!
So yes, the attitudes towards Christians are going to be slanted to their view and do not represent "most people".
I think that's what people really think, I mean Just by your comment by saying the person who posted this has a demon? Why? Because he is showing the truth? Christians today are hateful, not loving. Jesus would go to those who were hurting, lost, dispicable. Jesus would love the prostitutes, the homosexuals, we would love ALL. But Christians? Everyone hears Christian and thinks conservative Republican. BUt not love. Why is that?
i might be wrong, but if im right and the person is angry with what i said thinking to himself well im dont have a demon i posted that all myself... well if its not a demon take it off, if you notice you have trouble submitting than well you probably do have a demon, just wanted to say that to.
I posted this video and I can assure you that I don't have any demon. I actually got this video from my Intervarsity Christian Fellowship group this past semester. As to what you said about it, I don't think you understand why I posted it. Like I said before, we are called as Christians to be like Jesus. But many times people today disregard that and forget that Jesus was all about love. If Christians learned to love like Jesus, I don't think that people would have such a poor opinion.
@bethers1406 Couldn't agree more! everything else is just Religion - Jesus never acted the way most of us christian do and or have.. i thank God i have a true understanding of God's grace & love.;. It's all about relationship with Jesus and others, the other stuff is being like the pharisees.. Jesus was a friend of sinners and we should be too! :)
@l3739l ... i like the video... i consider myself a chrisian, and at one time or another i have been all of the above.... lol... but me and what i believe are two different things... there is a war going on inside, it is tough being human, trying to be spiritual when your body is full of different cravings, and to really seek god when religion and people are pulling you this way or the other.
omg - don´t understand why people think of christians that way , maybe just because I´m a christian ... but could anyone explain it to me ??? I mean people like jesus but they don´t like christians , but christians are those who love jesus and follow him and jesus loves everyone so ...
i think i have an answer for you. well did you hear them mention jesus in the first round of questions. notice the second round of questions, hmm never saying anything about christians. im kind of good finding these things. if they would have included in the second round of questions "what do you think about christians" i would have thought they were condemed, i think this is just a demon lying through whoever posted this video.

@SerJahPhoto It's a waste of your energy to "feel sorry" for gay and there is no need to feel sorry for them.

Of course, you'll probably come up with some snide remark, based partially on your intrinsic offense at the truth that you were projecting your own flaws onto people and Jesus; but, when one contends with a member of the herd, that's to be expected.
dameon692002 10 months ago

@dameon692002 Aww, did I upset you enough to make you resort to laughable cliches like "did I hurt your wittle feewings"? I'm so sorry...

Got another joke for us, or are you done with your ridiculous excuses for smear-campaigning?
dameon692002 10 months ago
@dameon692002 Did you even read the passages the mentioned or did you just fall back on the silly request for some kind of degree which isn't required to know simple historical knowledge? Ehrman, who went to Princeton Theological Seminary and teaches at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and knows Greek and Hebrew. Hmmm, but no, you're so right, there is no research...

dameon692002 10 months ago
@dameon692002 So your citing Christian propaganda makes your position true? First, read the new testament without imposing your superstitious nonsense onto the historical reality. @BrianTheMusicMan More straw-men, more cherry-picking, more propaganda... no more intellect. That one brain cell you barely contain must be close to burning out. Your projection bores me. Again: an adequate education - and, perhaps, some high boosts of acetylcholine to your puny brain, - will work wonders for you. You have my pity, until that time. Farewell...

I don't care, either way.
dameon692002 10 months ago
And how easy to show that people are indeed stupid, especially when it comes to the person of Jesus! Most serious biblical scholars agree that Jesus was most probably a Jewish apocalypticist who believed that a wrathful angel called the son of man would come to establish a new jewish kingdom on earth. That's why passages like Matthew 16:27-28, Mark 13:24-31 and 8:38-9:1 say "There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom."
BrianTheMusicMan 10 months ago
@BrianTheMusicMan Care to cite some of these "biblical scholars" of yours, or are you just ripping off the typical Jehovah's Witnesses interpretation? And, where do you get anything about an angel, called the "son of man"? Some scholars you consulted... they can't tell that there's no credence for the belief that angels are humans? And, did you ever stop to think that the Kingdom did come with power? Remember, Luke 24:49 says they had to tarry in Jerusalem, until it happened.
dameon692002 10 months ago
@BrianTheMusicMan Also, it's clear we're not talking about an angel at all. In Ezekiel, a human being is called the, "son of man". In the Gospels, there is not one instance of Jesus referring to anyone, except Himself, by that particular phrase. Just because you have trouble reading past a sixth grade level, doesn't mean anybody else does. BTW, the Jesus Seminar crowd barely qualify as scholars of anything, except political rhetoric. Try consulting the multitudes of scholars who disagree w/them.
dameon692002 10 months ago
@dameon692002 Holy hell you are dumber than I thought, then again you are a Christian. When did I mention the Jesus Seminar? Ehrman wasn't in the seminar. And if you examined the passages I mentioned, its very clear that Jesus mentions the son of man and he's not talking about himself, that's an interpretation you are imposing through your obsession with the unreliable sources like Paul and the G of John. Read Mark 13:24-31 and 8:38-9:1 and try to tell me he isn't a crazy douche.
BrianTheMusicMan 10 months ago
@BrianTheMusicMan Gee, you're not really known for your brains, morality, or courage, are you? Some projections you're throwing, eh? Your "expert" is connected to the Jesus Seminar by the citation of his work; which, if you had half the brains of a slug, you'd know. You obviously can't read any better than a young child, because all you do is cherry-pick and throw out some purile insults, and call it intellectual gold. Perhaps you're talking about the man in the mirror, more than anybody else...
dameon692002 10 months ago
@BrianTheMusicMan Are those the only verses you've read? That's right; you don't read... you let others read to you, and you just take their word for it. When you've gone back to school, and proven your literacy - and we won't even begin to discuss your lack of attention to detail or abysmal excuse for research, - then you'll have something to stimulate me intellectually. Otherwise, you're just wasting my time. But, ever the doormat, I'll continue stroking your fragile ego with replies...

And apparently they also like to claim anyone not agreeing with them just has to have a demon. ha ha ha!
SusDgs 1 year ago

I include myself in this as well to share and embrace the blame, but at the same time, we need to break these common conceptions of us.
terryts2 1 year ago
I am a christian and i can't agree more with how the people view us. The common view of christians are people who quote scripture loosely just to get their way, people who take advantage or bully to voice their opinion. It is sad really. People only look at the bible verses they like and make life out of them. put it this way, people won't listen to 'turn the other cheek' because 'an eye for an eye' sounds better. I can't rave on this enough.
terryts2 1 year ago
Like this video, shows the contrast of what people think of us Christians and gets you thinking about how other people see you. My answers would have been, Jesus: the one who loves you so much that no matter how many times you hurt him he always forgives you and he sees us all as equals. Christians: Not Perfect, but if true Christians will yearn to be like Jesus however If not true Christians they can create bad opinions about about Christians and Christianity.

However thats not what Christ taught at all.-Be Perfect as your Father in heaven is Perfect..Matthew 5;48- IF God is sinles then u must be too
34Adamlee77 1 year ago
@34Adamlee77 - actually, i don't think that's why Christ came. He came to show how much God loves, and what great lengths He would go to in order to show the world how much He wants a relationship with each and every one of them. He died to eliminate our sin and shame, to break the barrier that kept us from trusting in Him and walking with Him as our Friend and Lord. Christians often focus so much on sin and hell, that they miss the point of why Jesus came. He came to love. go and do likewise.

MackLeeGreen 3 years ago
Non-Christians love to say that because Christians sin they are hypocrites. But Christianity is not about being sinless it is about being forgiven. Some Christians are hypocrites because they don't admit that they are sinners, and that needs to change. But Paul warned us that the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing. For some that is always going to be the case.

wow, that's kind of sad what people think of us Christians...
Fireflightfreak 3 years ago

"You will be hated by all men for my namesake" -Jesus. They only hate the Christians that tell the truth. Without Jesus it will be hell and judgment.

Ironically that makes them every bit as religious as the Christians they self-righteously condemn.

its so sad to know they don't know Jesus as there Savior... Jesus Loves you all even if you don't love him he always will.
RabidDeidaraFangirl 3 years ago
Just because they can't pin point their feelings about jesus doesnt mean they dont love him.

There are more liberals than conservatives in this country.

137391,
I posted this video and I can assure you that I don't have any demon. I actually got this video from my Intervarsity Christian Fellowship group this past semester. As to what you said about it, I don't think you understand why I posted it. Like I said before, we are called as Christians to be like Jesus. But many times people today disregard that and forget that Jesus was all about love. If Christians learned to love like Jesus, I don't think that people would have such a poor opinion.
bethers1406 3 years ago 6

I mean people like jesus but they don´t like christians , but christians are those who love jesus and follow him and jesus loves everyone so ...
pls explain it to me

i think i have an answer for you. well did you hear them mention jesus in the first round of questions. notice the second round of questions, hmm never saying anything about christians. im kind of good finding these things. if they would have included in the second round of questions "what do you think about christians" i would have thought they were condemed, i think this is just a demon lying through whoever posted this video.
