Hughes designed and developed the aircraft. In 1984 Hughes was bought by Mc Donnell Douglas. So they are now the same company. But everyone calls them the Hughes 500 series ,which is true
nice question, a fuselage scale body with details and paint increase a lot the weight that the mechanics need to lift, with two blades ( regular head) the time is around five minutes, but if you put five blades and do litle modification changing the pinion ( less teeths) you can fly up to 8 minutes with a full scale five bladed helicopter, the modification is to reduce the head speed but with more torque.
If you look the description of my videos can see that i'm not using any kind of electronic stabilization, I always work to avoid this.
Many people around the world ask the same, some don't believe me heheheh!. AND I LOVE THAT !!!.
About The "sluggish' you meen if the control is more slower?? if is that the answer is yes, first because the low Rotorhead speed and more obviously the weight of scale fuselage ( usually 50% + ).but this is good for scale flight
The Five blades one it is more easier to fly, really smooth and predictable.watch my others videos specially the one with indoor fly in a stadium ( the yellow MD)
@tjtg Hi. yes !! multi blades four blades is nice but in the MD five blades are better ( better scale look, better stability, more flight time), stay conected in my chanel because in the next 6 months I will post two four blades projects ( actually working on it !) Sikorsky Black Hawck 90 and Agusta109 90 ( converted to electric).

Power Consumption & Flight Time: 5 Blade Head Vs. 2 Blade.
Could you tell me the difference between the two?
Beautiful Bird as always Krumrick2!
Thanks,

Hi Robert.

Take a look to the others videos in my channel.

rpm? please?

@leviterande
hi.
The RPM of this 1550
the five blades head a bit less usually 1450 to 1500.
This help in stability and control.

@krumrick2 How "sluggish" is the heli with 4 or 5 blades VS ordinary 2 blades? you use any stabilisor gyros?

@leviterande WOW man! if I understand you correctly this heli is as easy to fly as a stock "flybarred" trex 600? heheh maybe even easier?
