That board was VERY BRUTAL!!! The first one was a cinch, the third one (SOUTHERN DISHES) had a trap, Places in the MIDWEST was an ugly one and the last one Things that SPRINKLE was a killer. I have to applaud Keif---she is really good!!!!
For what it's worth, Wikipedia spells her name as Keefe. Also, this is VERY impressive to be giving the clues and get it in 30 seconds, although having Shelley Smith receiving doesn' t hurt either. As seen in the other videos, 3 more thoughts. 1. She kisses people in celebration, Shelley and Dick Clark here, Abby Dalton I think, and Nathan Cook later (but on the lips). 2. The full later tournament win (I believe in 2 parts) is available. 3. Watch all 3 wins--it's not luck/fixed. She's good.
Does anyone have a clip when Shelley got to the top of the Pyramid in 29 seconds with contestant Linda Simon (who qualified for the 5th tournament, but lost to Denise Bumbliss).
ok, i'll bute. "Shelly Smith, a celbrity" - who the hell is shelly smith, what was she in? i have found that if you have to say "shelly smith, a clebrity" - if you have to point it out, she must not be much of one, "Tiger Woods, a man whore", "OJ Simpson, a sleazeball", "Barack Obama, illegitimate president". kind of like having to laugh at your own jokes (letterman). if you have to explain it - it's a bomb
@ivegotalongdong Honestly, there are a number of these "celebrities" that I hadn't heard of as well, but likable all the same and if they could play the game well, good enough. I asked the same question of Shelly Smith, and looked her up. She did mostly guest spots for tv and game shows, but her "fame" was as a top model at the time. Smart (had a Masters in Psychology)-shown by her success on the show, she went on to be a family therapist and founder of the Egg Donor Society (best source: IMDB).
@ivegotalongdong, as her career took place in another era, I don't think the fact that not many people today have heard of her is an indication of anything. People today have no idea who Eisenhower is or David Lean, yet they can name the latest internet meme catch phrase and have watched the Chris Crocker crying video a thousand times. Not having knowledge of an 80's figure is not so much an indictment of that person's career, but perhaps one's own limited worldview.
Today is Friday (7/24/2009) and GSN is starting to play Keif tournament week..tune in on Monday. The female celebrity is Audrey Landers. The only 2 times she was on Dick Clarks version of The $100,000 Pyramid was for 2 tournaments(this one and Cheryl Reinwalds win)
Keefe Ferrandin is now a redhead and works for Disney.

Amazing how the star got them real quick. The contestant deserves the $10k and happy she won the $100k in the future.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
We have been waiting for this one for so so long! Talk about the two best Pyramid players ever to team up together. And they did it in 30 seconds.
And let's be honest...those were some ugly categories! I didn't remember how tough those really were!

Well, I knew it wouldn't take long to get this video up, and I love seeing it again, but, I wouldn't mind see the whole episode....maybe? :)
