@ems7218 dude are you stupid? i have a focus and have been looking into doing this and when you put a 5.0 or 351 in one of these cars you have to convert it to rear wheel drive. when you do that you have to cut the trunk pan out bc of the spare tire hole and when you do that an 8.8 rear out of a fox mustang fits right up in there, and fox mustangs came with a STOCK 4 LUG and that STOCK 4 LUG is the same lug pattern as a focus you dumass.

What is the point? Just buy a Mustang. It is not really that much lighter than an old Stang. Actually an 80's Mustang is probably lighter since it has less insulation, no airbags and less safe of a car. Both with V8's might as well go with the Mustang and save the work of this project.

The other is a slightly lighter and about 20 years newer. Its an 86 442 with a 7.3L Ford International Diesel. Close to 600hp at the wheels in a completely gutted 86 Olds. It only weighs 1927 lbs with me in it and its mostly engine weight. Talk about an attention getter at the red lights.

Just modifications to the engine bay, better breaks and better shocks + suspension. If it is a awd focus it wouldnt rly need a rear wheel drive and could take it. @3511ford try living in the UK, we only have the 1400cc, 1600cc, 1800cc and 2000cc. There is a sporty one with a 2500cc volvo engine called the ST. All are 4 cylinder apart from the ST. A V8 would be brilliant, but we are taxed on engine size and CO2 emissions.

My mom had an 02 that twisted a bearing at 60k miles and my dad wanted me to convert it to RWD and drop our 302 in it. A day doesnt go by that I don't wish I would have did it. Here I thought it was an original idea. hahaha. Nice car though man!

What is the point? Just buy a Mustang. It is not really that much lighter than an old Stang. Actually an 80's Mustang is probably lighter since it has less insulation, no airbags and less safe of a car. Both with V8's might as well go with the Mustang and save the work of this project.

Theres literally a million mustangs out there, (hell I'm a chevy guy and I've even owned a mustang) but only a handful of v8 focus's. It's the oldest hot rodding trick ever. Biggest baddest engine in the smallest body. Look at the AC cobras. AC sucked till shelby got ahold of em.

@wes2880 I cant argue with your coment at all. Big motor small+package= lots of fun. I have 2 Oldsmobile 442s. One is a 66 Cutlass 442 with the 455 Rocket pushing close to 700hp at the wheels. The other is a slightly lighter and about 20 years newer. Its an 86 442 with a 7.3L Ford International Diesel. Close to 600hp at the wheels in a completely gutted 86 Olds. It only weighs 1927 lbs with me in it and its mostly engine weight. Talk about an attention getter at the red lights.

@MPruitt30 anyone beside of that at the stoplight will know thats not a stock focus. If A cammed up v8 pulls up beside of you, then you will know it is fast regaurdless of what car it is in. People that hear that lope while it idles will probably be afraid to race it. I was just sayin to would be more of a sleeper if it wasnt as loud. It would be more sleeper if it was quieter and had a big shot of No2. Im not trying to bust your balls or anything but nobody would mistake that for a 4 cylinder.

@timthemagicbus666 well the ford focus can take a v8 it has been proven in many situations, not too many adjustments need to be made. Just modifications to the engine bay, better breaks and better shocks + suspension. If it is a awd focus it wouldnt rly need a rear wheel drive and could take it. The front wheel drive chassis would fuck up sooo fast.

This is so fake exhaust been taken off, the bmw doing bout 10mph and the focus double clutching it so it spins. you can tell by the white lines when the bmw is following the focus how the focus must speed up to bout 45-50mph how pathetic

@cyborgrat yes but the essence of it is not always having to start in first and saving on tires what you spend on clutches, my stock 02 focus still went through tires like waffles, it was standard, the new wagon we have still does the same thing, unless you let it roll first

@3511ford try living in the UK, we only have the 1400cc, 1600cc, 1800cc and 2000cc. There is a sporty one with a 2500cc volvo engine called the ST. All are 4 cylinder apart from the ST. A V8 would be brilliant, but we are taxed on engine size and CO2 emissions.
