good starter trails are greenhorn, upper and lower breakout, and damboo. all the trails have small jumps but thire good for practice runs and for people who suck... like me!

Just a wonder. Why do freeriders and downhillers ride with gears? Why don't they just go singlespeed?

if you are trying to go fast then you need to have multiple speeds usualy your out of gear 4 and on lower gears, but if you find yourself in a rockgarden and you are to slow you may need more torqu to get through it and then shift back into a lower gear once up to speed again. if you have ever ridden a downhill bike before you may notice that there is a significant difference between higher and lower gears and that the amount of energy used to peddal is changed rapidly between gears
