Great version! You nailed Neil's sound. If you want to get it even closer to the original, just add some reverb, and maybe use slightly heavier strings.

Dude, you've done a great thing. It's close enough to that Airport Terminal scene that I don't even need to check. You must've known it was Cortez when you first heard it. And if you're like me, it completed the movie.

I'm one of probably many disciples of the original studio version, the concert film video of "Rust Never Sleeps" (much better than the Live Rust album version), and a lot of the covers. But this is one that I haven't heard in any live footage of Neil.

holy sh*t i say f*ck it sing in a lower tune on a mic and it will still sound amazing.. with a bit of mic effects and your perfect guitar and harmon, it wont really matter if you cant hit the high notes ...

The acoustic version hasn't been released by Neil up to this day. You can find it (Neil playing it live) on various torrent sites though.

Cameron Crowe tried to tease us, i. e. showing us how good he knows Neil, by putting the first 2 minutes of the song in his movie. Many people where disapointed not finding it on the soundtrack.

What key is that harp and brand/model. I want to learn harp so I can play more of Neils songs.

if you look a little bit below I already asnwered ;) I'll repeat: the guitar has been tune in "double dropped D" or D-modal. Dropping both E strings to D.

You can play it in a number of variations, i personally use the standard E tuning dave matthews version but double d sounds much more authentic. The chords are a basic play on E minor, D, A minor. Really really simple, add your own spice to the chords and make it your own for a nice sound!
