People dont realize the importance of "scrunching" or "abraiding." Its so critical to get it right. But then again we all learn different styles and it works different for others. You are one awesome abo knapper though!
Abo is the way to go. I used to knap just like that but I've never seen western style points that have that flaking style. In the midwest it's common. I agree that hammerstones were probably used. I've tried some monster deer antlers but they are hard to get noadays. Back then they had everything the needed all the time.
Good to hear from you Jimmy. Been wondering what you've been up to. I've got a 3rd segment here that I need to upload still where I finish this preform with a hammerstone.
I've been taking care of my 2 and 1 year old toddlers while my wife works. It's a lot of work. I never imagined I'd be in the situation. Work is hard to find out here in CA. Knapping has fallen by the way side. I have a whole bunch of projects I want to do but no time. The babysitter quit on us and now I have even less time! I still hope to see you at the Buttes. I look forward to the last video. You've really been a great inspiration! Thanks again! Jim
not sure what mohawk said but i can see why you would remove him. cant stand the guys style of knapping. glad your back marty! i have been watching you for years. the big caddo blade is a classic video! glad your back tony in tennessee
