The first zionist settlers came to Israel in approximately 1880, long before world war 2. The zionist movement started not because of world war 2, but because jews from eastern and western Europe who suffered from antisemetism decided to take their fate in the own hands and build a state for the jews in the ancient land of Israel which was then ruled by the Turks.
Palestine was under Turkish rule for about 400 years, there was no Palesinian state there, nor any other state. This land was colonialized bt the Turks. NOW, the problem between jews and Palestinians stem from the fact that when the zionists started to come to Palestine (from 1882) most of its native inhabitans were Arabs. There were also jews that lived in this land then and throughout history
Jews had a constant present in Palestine (or land of Israel) from the ancient kingdom of Israel. The Arabs who lived under the Turks in Palestine didn't have national aspirations themselves. They lived for 400 without a need to have their own state, seperated from Turky, and they didn't perceive themselves as different than the Arabs who lived in Joran or Syria.
The problem started because the jews that kept on coming to Palestine under Turkish and after that English rule, did have national aspirations. They came to this land, as one Israeli song from that time say - "to build it and being rebuild in it". They didn't come here to live under Turkish or British rule. They can in order to build a state for themselves. Their own independent state where there can finally live in freedom and security without being persecuted and descrimibted against.
If there was no Israel and no zionism, Britain would have probably leave this land as it left all its other colonies in the area, and this land would have probably been split between Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt. You can't live like that - children didn't go to schools or kindergartens, people weren't able to go to work. life was a nightmare for hundreds of thousands of people. Something had to be done. Hey Hey Hold on.....Who in the heck told you there are different Qur'an. The Arabic Qur'an is preserved in its original form as it was 1,400 years ago. Just the English Translations may differ because of Arabic being a vary vast language in terms of Phonetics and Vocabulary. OK, I don't think that the West Bank settlements are legal. period. and so do many otherr Israelies.
The settlements make it difficult to reach an agreement but they don't make it impossible.
To have peace, real peace, Israel was always willing to distroy settlements.
It did so with the settlements in Sinai - for peace with Egypt, it recently did so when it withdrew from the Gaza strip, and in a painfull process uproored the settlements there.

I know that many Israelis don't support the settlements, but you are forgetting that these settlements are full of armed zealots! The settlements must be removed along with the settlers and the checkpoints for any kind of peace to happen. Are you crazy? I said most Israelies will support the destruction of settlements for peace - as they recently did with the settlements in the Gaza strip, and previously in the Sinai. Israel destroyed in both cases villages and towns that were people lived for dozends of years. It was a painfull process but it was done. Even though it's going to be A LOT more difficult in the west bank, because the settlers there are religious.

so the Arabs who lived here saw how floods of jews are starting to settle (buying lands, no one chased Arabs out of their land. at leat not then) in this land, building villages, towns, bringing their own culture, and trying to get an international recognision in a jewish state. I can understand the Arab anxiety. Even though Palestine was largely inhabited, even though the Arabs who lived here didn't have an independent state, it's still not easy to see new comers who intend to build a state.

Hey Hey Hold on.....Who in the heck told you there are different Qur'an. The Arabic Qur'an is preserved in its original form as it was 1,400 years ago. Just the English Translations may differ because of Arabic being a vary vast language in terms of Phonetics and Vocabulary. The Arabic Version is the same only the translations may have differences but that too slight ones!!
That is the reason we prefer to read the Qur'an in Arabic rather than any other language

That's not what I see here in Sweden. Arabs get swedish girlfriends, treat them like objects and after the girl leaves them, they follow and abuse. It's common knowledge here. My sister had a muslim boyfriend. He beat her. Also we lived in a muslim area once and my sister got beaten by muslim WOMEN for dressing improperly IN SWEDEN!!!! The Arabic word used here, {adriboo}, from the root {d-r-b}, has several dozens of meanings, such as: 'to strike', but also: 'to forsake', 'to avoid', 'to leave'.
Therefor there is no exact conclusion as to weather the verse means exactly to strike or to leave her entirely.....

As an Israeli I am aware that not all of our actions can be justify in the name of security, but I would like each of you to try to picture what would happen to the Jewish people if we stopped defending ourselves altogether; would we be able to exist?
