Young people youre lucky. we didnt have no internet to no the name of an artist. some time it took years.

I only learned in 2000 that this was on midnight sun

  • I wanna take this time to shout out my DJ Mix Master T and my long time homies and brothers for life Sincere aka Freedom B big Will and T-Rod Tommy down in da MIA, n Latif still in NYC. I love u cats, u were there when it happened n today u keeps us immortal....

  • this jam kicks ass. i love ya

  • Yo Shayquan why did you get out of the bizz. you were better the most rappers out there ????

  • Thanks! First I must pay respects to Disco Wiz DJ Mike Dee out of Fredrick Douglass pro

jects NYC.I received word by text and his old school fam n NYM,that Mike Dee Past with his head phones on! Thats how deep the love for our music is.I still flow all day everyday and school those that preserve the culture. Back then few of us were able to have complete control over our work. The music industry can be grimy and commercialized. The story also goes much deeper, maybe I should write a book ?

  • Shay back in the day you let me listen to a tape of yours that you made with a group, the only lyrics I remember were " We are the future, we must get serious, you know we have to get serious" . It went something like that. That jam stuck in my head for over 20 years, Just wondering if you still have that jam.

    Peace

P.S. Maybe you should write that book the industry...

  • Yo man lost o respect from Spain.I noticed these days old school kinda it's back, but it's a product to be sold just like RNB.Anyone can sell and get rich(which means you don't have whole control over your work),...or ''keep it real'',preserve culture... and starve.I chosed to starve at underground.

    BTW...killer track!Peace!

  • I want to thank all my friends and fans who throughout the years have supported my music and my streets artistic form of social expression.

    The original

    Shayquan

  • @shaquanfromda80s Whats up Shaquan it's been a long time since we talked. Remember Divine,Raquan & me D.J. Master Tee when DNA jerked us from your Showbiz Track. LOL.. It's me Shaquan, Tyrone. Whats up dog i was youtube and i thought of you i said let me see if he's here and there it was Don't Fess.Yo homey i ain't going to type much but holla back.

  • What can i say? Nice post. Rare tune and possibly the greatest mid 80's joint. Im up for Rinder and Lewis too.

  • Well CraigZippyZipp this Granty sounds like the kinda guy who may encourage a rumble in an Essex newtown apre clubbing,i got memories attached to songs but i always hold a candle for a bit of sha-quan maybe even a bit of Rinder & Lewis

  • I remember this one, my old mate Granty used to play this a lot back in the days, wicked track! One day Granty complained his throat was as 'dry as a nun's flange and we had to get a drink' - this track was playing on car stereo! What memories these old tracks bring back. Sha Quan, you rock man!

  • Im Intrigued to know how you got it from Sha-quan himself before it was even pressed! What, did Sha-quan hum it one day in the street on his way to Midnight Sun recording studio and you purchased the hummed tune there and then(joke):)

  • Som de preto, aí maluco !!!

  • I bought this record from Sha Quan before it was even pressed. This man should have been a superstar. If you have Knights of the turntables, please post it...

  • wow nice :)
