  • That is absolutely beautiful. Thank you. You brought tears to my eyes.

  • how could this get any dislikes?! this is the best version on youtube.

  • Nice job!!

  • Just recorded it, with some effects (and some mistakes...). Just click on my avatar to check it out in my channel. Thanks!

  • missed the # on the F at the end, so frustrating to do a mistake right at the end after a nearly perfect performance, happens to me all the time...

  • @Didlybom

It happens to me very frequently when I play / record and it is extremely frustrating. I don't believe I missed any notes in this particular recording however. Tempo / dynamics / phrasing probably could have been better in places but I think I hit the F# this time. =P

Anyway, this is one that I really need to relearn sometime because I now have a way in Audacity to give it more of a Blade Runner feel using a flange effect, I tested it once and it sounds great. =D

  • @AnotherSchmoe

I think you hit a F instead of a F# at 4:41. Again, I don't mean to nitpick, your playing is fantastic, simple, to the point, unpretentious, precise yet still feeling spontaneous and emotional, I was just "relieved" it happens to everybody. BTW... do you still have the transcription of Piano In An Empty Room?

  • Simplemente EXCELENTE !!!!! Feliciades...

  • by FAR the best version i've seen on youtube. beautiful song, makes me feel so many emotions at once. slowly trying to learn this myself

  • what piano are you using on this please?

    Yamaha P-155.

  • You did an amazing job at this very difficult and beautiful piece... :)

  • love this guys version slowly learning any notes or Chords thx.

  • This is my favourite version of "Memories of Green". I like it more than the original one with effects (from the soundtrack). I hear it when I want or need a magical moment.

I hear it very often (and I will) since months and I have to thank you for share it. Greetings from Spain.

  • Awesome job! I love it....very good! I play piano too, and I wold love to know how to play this song!

  • Not bad considering it took him about three months to learn it.

  • one my favorite piano pieces of all time.im not a music guy but im guessing a lot of minor chords are used.i love msuic that sounds as if it's just slightly out of tune and i get that feel from this song.well done sir.

  • I love this track, and you've played it beautifully, thank you for sharing this.

  • It's beautiful! As good as the original.

  • Wonderful played! In my opinion the piano sound acctualy sounded better here instead of the origional recording!

Could you plz make a Guitar pro tab of this? and put it up somewhere?

    // Fredvain

  • Ok you're not a replicant, go home!...No really, I'm sorry...

  • @pianoman1237

I'm not in the business... I am the business.

  • That was incredible. I want to learn to play the piano because of this song.

  • You sir. Have moved me to tears with this beautiful piece. How I envy and admire your ability to play it. Good job.

  • Great Job!!! Love BladeRunner & its soundtrack. btw: You can hear THIS song in Ridley Scott's '87 movie: Someone To Watch Over Me

  • Just awesome, man.

I am a beginner too, and I am trying to learn this one.

Hope I can play it as well as you do.

    Very nice job.

  • ha HA hairy!

  • Beautiful !<3

  • beautiful, a tad slow in interpretation, but a true feel of the statement. I love it.

  • Ahhh this is awesome! Thank you so much <3

  • Thanks for sharing, well done.

  • Your piano playing in this video far exceeds the modesty you claim in the description. Great, great job!!! I can free write to this song for hours :D

  • The 3rd page is impossible!!

  • It's amazing the quality sound of that piano though it isn't a real one.

  • Absolutely awsome! I wish I could play like that! Ive taken up keyboard and my teacher asked what i wanted to play like and I told her I wanted to play this! Excellent rendition!

  • I've dreamed of being able to play this tune since I fell in love with the movie when I was a kid! This was beautifully played. The right volume, tempo, everything! Listening to this brought back the way this song first made me feel! Bravo! Now, if I could only get the sheet music and another piano....

  • I still cant believe how beautifully you play this. I have watched this everyday for the last month! I don't even listen to Vangelis' version anymore because yours is so much more enchanting to listen to - just watching gives me goosebumps and I'm totally taken away. I feel like this song really speaks to me. It will always be my favorite. I have a goal to play this song well someday - thanks for the inspiration :)

  • Could you please do a tutorial of Memories of green ( Vangelis ) ! Please, my dad loves that song....

  • Good feeling!! Thanks!!

  • Fantastic Job! Not only it sounds great, but it is also an accurate cover. Some other covers of this piece on you tube are in the wrong key, or have mangled the composition. Your fingering also can surely help all those who want to learn to play this piece. Congrats!

  • thank you for playing this song.

  • You dont happen to dream of electric sheep do you ?

  • One of the best songs by Vangelis...Blade Runner + Vangelis ...Epic.

  • Well done! This Is one of the better home versions of this song! Vangelis would be proud!

  • A wizard...

    please the love theme....

thx, and greetings from France !!!!!!

  • I don't have enough words to thank you

  • You're much too humble; this is a beautiful rendition, and as much as I like the original it's nice to hear the piano without the electronica.

  • Very moody,, and emotional, I love very much this song because it remembers

me the day I finally got close to my actual girlfriend.

Its like our official love song =)

and i am really really sure this is the best piano version of this.

could you send a pm, to me with the sheet music link please =]

    greetings From Mexico ñ__ñ

  • I wish I could write like you play!

  • Well done. You played it as though it was written by you.

    Bravo!

  • Wow, AnotherSchmoe! That is really good. I also play this piece on a Yamaha digital keyboard, a P-120. So what piano sound do you use from the keyboard choices? You stated you use reverb; how can I increase the amount of reverb? Is there another onboard effect you use as well? Forgive me for all the questions and maybe I can't get that sound out of a P-120 but you make that piano sound so good with the settings you have. Good playing!

  • One of the most beautiful melodies I've ever heard. Well played. Thanks for sharing.

  • Well man, I have no words here. Thanks, it´s all I can say.

  • Another nice replicant of Vangelis! Your attention to tempo and volume is excellent!

  • That's some manly arm hair bro. Love that song; great job.

  • The composer of the "A.I." piano tracks used at the end of THAT android tragedy...

  • i search tutorial how to play this beauty melody and find it thank you :D

  • Very nice.. My favorite vangelis tune :) trying to learn i myself but it takes a lot of time

  • Beautiful this song gets me really emotional. I always loved the Bladerunner soundtrack

  • Amazing! I have to learn this!

  • just wanted to say that I agree - you have a beautiful version - thank you so much. You really have a talent :)

  • Oh that was just superb! There may be a few small errors in the transcription compared to the original piece, but the atmosphere and beauty of the piece was all there! Really well done. I loved it.

  • well done :) and many thanks

  • go schmoe

  • go schmoe

  • Beautiful tune!

  • Blade Runner was one of my favorite movies and introduced me to the art of solitude. Great playing!!

  • Pretty amazing song, and well played. I need to find the sheet music for this. Not that I can read sheet music, but should be able to reverse engineer it by ear and sheet. Well done again.

  • Absolutely fantastic!! best version on the tube.

  • well done man

  • just downloaded the music and have started to learn it. It almost spans the whole keyboard - its hard to read.Any tips - you are the best version on Youtube. Well done - wish you were nearby to show me. Ta

  • @eggymark

Thanks, don't really know what to say. It was slow learning it for me, you are right it does go all over the place on the keyboard. Best of luck! =P

  • @AnotherSchmoe Where did those sheets come from? I wrote out sheet music for all 10:19 of Blade Runner Blues awhile back but I've been meaning to do this one, Tales From the Future, and Dimitri's Bar too.

  • @Supershake9595

I found them on Scribd, I'll send you the link.

  • Great song very well played! Do you think you could send me the piano sheets? I would love to play it as well.

  • This is the best memories of green cover on youtube. Well done!

  • @aris1234

Thanks for the kind words. =)

I recently started learning "Piano In An Empty Room" (another Vangelis track, was on the Blade Runner soundtrack but I don't think it actually appeared in the movie) and hope to have a recording within the next month or so. No guarantees but it'll be here eventually. Take care!

  • @aris1234

    I agree.

  • You play(ed) very well! I find that your keyboard sound better than some piano,... do you add some reverb? Blade Runner was a great movie. When I saw this movie, the first time at the theater, I loved it. Even, today, I found it's still modern. I think you're too modest: I play piano too but I couldn't do better than you did!!!

  • @Chrysalide27

Thanks! All of the sound in the recording is from the keyboard (Yamaha P-155), I didn't change it in the computer. The P-155 has reverb settings and I cranked it up quite a bit. =P

  • @AnotherSchmoe

I have a Yamaha psr-420. It's an old model from 1995. The sound is less quality than yours, but I think it's better than nothing. The most important is not necessary the quality sound, but the fun to play. The best sound keyboard I heard, in my life, is a Yamaha clp 380. The sound of this keyboard is totally perfect!!!

  • Perfect. You did this song justice.

  • Wonderful!

  • Awesome! Keep it coming!

  • You are playing so awesome! Memories of green gives me shivers. Where did you got the sheets from? I have search everywhere (downloadable :) ) on the internet, but no luck. You dont happend to have the sheets on the computer? :)

  • @Zephiris00

    Thanks for the comment!!

Memories of Green gives me shivers too, it's a very haunting piece of music and I fell in love with it the moment I heard it in Blade Runner. As for the sheet music, I sent you a message with the link, check your inbox. =)

  • That is just amazing! Great playing, too! You sound really good! This is just as good without the synthesizers too in my opinion!

  • A great addition to your impressive and diverse repertoire, Schmoe! Great work as usual. :-) THUMBS UP!

  • Beautiful performance! You capture the bittersweet atmosphere of the movie perfectly.

  • Beautiful! I would love to play this, if you'd be willing to send the sheet music. Thank you for the comment on my Piano in an Empty Room video. :)

  • Spectacular :)

  • Well well ! bravo sir ! bravo :D !

  • Simply Fabulous!Love it.Keep on making more i was just wondering whats up with you:)!

  • @Trykky88:

Thanks! I'm not dead, just been lazy with making new recordings lately and wasn't feeling confident enough to post anything, finally built up enough courage to upload something. Also recently bought Assassin's Creed 2 and Mass Effect 2 for Xbox 360 and have been busy playing them, amazing games. =P

  • @AnotherSchmoe

Haha you are a gamer too:P?Very good choice in gaming.I am into more rpg stuff like Lost Odyssey and Star Ocean.I haven't upload too anything special...i am a little frustrated because i can't learn some pieces

Wait to see the new songs you upload:).

    Byebye!!!!

  • @Trykky88:

You should definitely check out Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 if you haven't yet, they're sci-fi RPGs but have good action too (real time combat), very cool. All the choices you make in the first game can carry over into the second one also if you import your save. Mass Effect 2 is a lot better than the first and is also one of the best games I've ever played, but the first one came out 2 years ago and it's best to play it first so you can know what's going on. =P

  • @AnotherSchmoe

I might check them out on computer....this tipe of games are more suited for mouse and keyboard:).

    byee=)

  • woahh! simply superb version of this piece , u managed to capture the emotion very well ..nice one.

  • Beautifull playing . this song remind me the movie.

Keep playing and sharing man.you did a good job

  • Never seen the movie, but nice to listen to and well played! (looks terribly difficult!)

  • Very good indeed.

  • An excellent rendition - better than my own it's probably fair to say, mine is a little too slow perhaps. I also like the tone of your digital piano, I think I asked you the make and you said Yamaha?

It sounds like the exact same version of the music that I play from, someone on my comments suggested another which you can download. Check my comments if you are interest.

Anyway, I enjoyed listening to your addition to the YouTube Memories of Green!

    Mike
