  • Roberto Benigni, SUPERBO!!

  • Shit I just started crying, the courage a man must have to do what he did.

  • The worst part is that he never knew if his son and wife made it out okay :(

  • THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER!!! and also sad :(

  • you all should watch Schindler's list....

  • Wow i rented this movie

my god its cheered me up hahah :D

  • BRILLIANT!!! LIFE IS REALLY BEAUTIFUL

  • Through Sacrifice, one will earn the right to walk among the stairs of heaven. But through murder...well, they can all just burn in hell. I bet Hitler is still screaming to this day...But to us it's just music. =]

  • The first time I watched this I thought the tank was going to hit the boy. I was thinnking, "The bastard kills Guido, then has a kid get hit by a tank! WTF! Then the soldier pops out, "Hello Boy."" *Facepalm*

    I loved this movie.

Though I can't look at any concentration camps without thinking of it.

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the song played after Guido is shot? My movie player on my computer tells me it is called "The Journey that had to be," But I can't find it online anywhere....

  • I'm a big manly man but this makes me cry like a baby every time.

  • What a good movie, the end was just amazing.

  • "daddy and me came in first and now we won the real tank, we won we won!”

made me sob harder than ever :'( so beautiful, such an amazingly strong, passionate, loving and honorable man <3

  • @passionfortherain That gets me crying every time. Joshua doesn't realize yet just how much he's won (and lost) T.T

  • @darkcara agreed!

  • Its beautiful!

  • every god damn time it makes me sob like a baby

  • damn i was like aint gunna cry aint gunna cry....then seeing his smile when he saw the tank....i lost it

  • made me cry agian... it's really great movie ever...

  • minor typo, meant "seeing as Nazi" not "an Nazi". My bad ;P

  • omg the part in which he knows he's going to die and still tries to keep his son convinced it's a game ):

  • The father dying completely ruined this movie for me...

  • WE WON... WE WON!!!

  • @1984gissy You're hating Nazis makes you a Nazi against Nazis.

  • @SadoKaden ohh i dont thimk in that thanks for tell me but is so sad dont worry i am not mad by the mesage XD

  • @1984gissy I was jokin' =)

  • @SadoKaden It doesn't, seeing an Nazi was a political party, not a philosophy.

  • that is so sad make me cry

  • sad father didnt make it..

but was superb that mother n son survived..

  • thats not what the american solider originally says! the movie should be left with just english subtitles.

  • @kgrace14 I forgot, what did he originally say?

  • @Thessalian7 He said something like "Whats your name boy"

  • The audience goes through tears of saddness to tears of joy in movie! I love this moive! "Life Is Beautiful"

  • the great movie

  • 16 non mi piace..ma che cazzo vi fumate??

  • What's the ending music called? Somebody tell me!

  • @kawaiinitz31 =wv6qVIPgLjo

  • @kawaiinitz31 the 3 songs at the end are: ARRIVA IL CARRO ARMATO, ABBIAMO VINTO,LA VITA E BELLA hope it helped you!!

  • @kawaiinitz31 Abbiamo Vinto

  • America! America!

  • Beautiful, the sacrafice Guido made for his son is the very definition of love for one's family

  • this made me tear up

  • this made me tear up

  • Beautiful and sad movie :'(

  • I don't know why but the part where everybody feels thats its finally safe to come out just really gets to me. I guess its maybe because it also could have been Guido coming out, this man is a real man. <3

  • This is one of the saddest movies I have ever watched!

  • holy crapppp i just dropped some tears. :D

  • If only Guido could have survived one more night....It would have been a perfect ending.

  • this movie is a record holder for making me cry teh most times in a movie.. <3 it's been a while since I saw this movie but it still gives me that same feeling.. <3 I wonder if I can get it on dvd or something..

  • if i was the mother i would ask the son where the dad is.

  • These Jews had it coming.

No seriously wonderful film. The part where he makes his son laugh one last time in spite of his imminent death always gets me.

  • I really don't like how the movie nonchalantly depicts his death after what he's done for his family...but this movie was so beautifully sad..and funny. The ending made me tear up.

  • This put tears to my eyes :(

  • Awhhhh :(

    FUCK HITLER!

  • woo go americaaaa! fuck hitler.

  • a really beautiful story , it make me cry, but I thought that the father will kill the nazi, but....

just if he kill him and get them out of their alive, I will prefer the story

  • @freearab8251 wen i first saw thins film as a kid, i thought that the father outsmarted the nazi and shot him but we cudnt see and that we'd see him joining the american in the tank :'( oh how inocence i was X-(

  • @PandaBoo92 me too from befre I thaught that this will happen but it doesn't :(

in conclusion I said FUCK HITLER :D

  • just simply an awesome dad!

  • a beautiful lie too

  • take a tear for that father!!! he is a gonna go to heaven and so is that little boy!!(: sweet movie, proves a fathers love, poor boy tho, he won his tank!!

  • thanks to USA we beat the crap of German and hitler

  • La vida es bella......que bella es la vida!!!!

  • wat a great movie this really meant alot to me and i cired and when the dad it like when ur dad is always there and being with the whole time. cant belive that his dad died at the movie i thought he going to make it but he didnt wat a brillanit moive there no movie like this that will make u happy and cry

  • what a beautiful ending. =)

  • althought lies are always look as bad he made them look so beautiful. beautiful majestic lies.

  • I never liked the end. Anyone else thinks he did it like that to win the Oscar. All that US part... I dont like!! Sorry

  • forget the terminator, chuck norris and batman!

THIS is what a REAL man does! Taking care of his family!

  • @Ghboy2 I agree with u!!!

  • the worst part about the ending is that joseph never knew that his father was killed for awhile

  • Is that suppossed to be Auschwitz-Birkenau? I think it is, Nobody in my class knew. I knew it was since the beginning when u saw the tracks going in. SO, Is it?

  • When the last tank came, I seriously thought it was his father who jacked it from a solider and took it to his son.

  • Without words life es beatiful.

  • i just saw the tank part doesn't makes sense in english, the original one in italian or spanish the soldiers says whats your name? and then you don't understand what im saying do you? the boy moves his head

  • 0:30 he was still smiling :')

  • @fellerredseller i cryied on that part (part 12)

  • I couldn't hold back the water fountain of tears.....truly amazing and beautiful movie...

  • Wow. This is an absolutely incredible story...that a Father would care so much about his son that he would make up a 'game' story to keep his son alive. I'm not for lying, but for a kid that age- a game is the only way on earth to survive. And I can't imagine the feelings of the American soldiers who came into the wreckage...and the absolute hatred of the Nazis that they would machine gun people by the thousand just to get in as much killing as possible before the Allies came. Truly barbaric!

  • NO THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS: the soldier who walked out after the shots were fired was actually guido so he escaped with the other nazis to not appear suspicious, then when the nazis get captured by the allies and appear in court, his wife will be in the audience and see him unexpectedly again!!! and his kid could tell him they won a tank!

  • @bobmagnets People could only wish it was that way.

  • ah what an amazing dead!!!

so emotional when the boy won the tank and saw his mom back!

  • Im in 8th garde and I've never heard of this movie and we watched it in Italian class and i thought it was so stupid! because the beginning was just silly. The actor was also was in the italian version of pinocio which was so stupid but now i am so mad at myself i didn't give this movie a fair chance the first time around watching this movie from start to finish is just amazing... truly a great film

  • wish i dont ave seen this movie it had me cry to such an extent i felt very very hard to recover.my heart now weigh limitless.

  • I was watching this movie and I was starting to feel like I had no heart because I just couldn't cry at all the terrible scenes, not even when his dad didn't come back out. But in the end, I just started bawling and bawling. So beautiful. <3

  • excellent share.. thx - a classic movie about Facist Corporatism.... ; )

  • 15 people who disliked this must be mentally retarded , or they're too hearless to be able to feel it !

  • The most beautiful movie I've seen. Who knew a movie could make me laugh and cry so hard at the same time. Beautiful. Life truly is beautiful. If only there were more people like him.

  • one of the best movies i ever saw i really like the italian version better though just not the same when its dubbed but its still a great movie

  • OmG , all i can say is this is an invaluable movie , so meaningful .The dad did everything to protect his son . I love this ending , the son got a tank, yes , as his father said , they are the lead team forverer !

  • So was this a true story? or based off of one?

  • i dont know why but i find this such a creepy part 4:01

  • when i first saw this scene, i just waited for Guido to come out, but he never did

    :,(

  • At first I thought guido would have like taken his gun and shot the soldier.

But no I cried a little when I saw the soldier coming out.

  • Comment removed

  • I'd be crying so badly if that was my dad ;~;

  • If only Guido wait... :((

  • Are they really win ?

  • Every time I see this movie I got so emotional. :')

  • Oh my gosh... after all his dad did for his son to protect him...what a great father ;w;

(He even won a tank :D)

  • Such a touching film.

  • yes u won.....dady like tat cant ever let u loose....

  • I am watching this in my eighth grade English class because we r reading night by elie weisel this is so touching but I thought they were all going to make it out alive

  • yet, they dont care what happend to daddy.... That's a bit messed up.

  • @TheGotherax They dont know what happened to him

  • @mewbra123 - But still it WOULD be nice if they just stopped hugging nd said: "where's dad...?"

  • So incredibly moving!

  • I was watching this in school but since i didn't go to school i finished it here :'( touching<33

  • how much i wish guido didnt die..

  • you can imagine how it still is I visited Benchwald and Auschwitz great movie

  • when I visited Dachau Concentration camp i saw the wall where they shot prisoners who had commited crimes..the bullet shots were still there are this scene reminds me of how sad the whole Holocaust was

  • he fucking died just caz of his wife =.= she should have stayed back in italy!

  • lol. The American soldier seemed like he didn't even see him. *pops hatch open* *looks around* "Oh! Hi, boy! I'm going to give you a lift because I almost fucking ran you over, but for some reason stopped right before I did." Saw this back in middle or high school, and is a touching movie.

  • To ALL! The kid did not know that his father was killed, Guido was shot somewhere further away. So the kid probably found out some other time later. And the ending was on contrary, happy THEY WON!

  • @lukosius1221 it's not happy...

more bittersweet if you ask me.

  • @ForeverGimpy Well...it's not the party obviously...but at the end the love won if you ask me.

  • I love the kids reaction to the tank. His face. Besides that the ending was really sad.

  • I think the best part of the movie is when the US military guy yells STOP! I like it because its funny. Tee Hee.

  • How can anyone dislike this?

  • We're watching this at school, and I just know I'm gonna cry when we get to the end...

  • in the Nazi prison camps the prisoners should have commited uprisings and stood up to Hitler like in the Soviet prison camps the prisoners thought they were free from Stalin and they stood up to the Soviet government but they were wrong but they died trying my grandfather was in the Kengir uprising in the 1950's and he told me that it was sad and he saw his friends getting murdered by the red army

  • But remember the rest of the world is to blame. The US was in isolation for a while and pretended like this wasn't so

There are people out there like Hitler, and it's our job to make sure they never reach that power ever again.

During WW2, the US(along with other countries that Germany didn't conqer) had a chance to save the Jews

But they only allowed so many into the states for refuge. Because the US did not allow a lot of jews in, people like Guido, children, women, elderly were killed

  • @MartinezFreddie No, It was Europe that killed the Jews.

  • I'm watching this in high school right now.

    I am a sophomore.

    It's touching

My heart finally gave in and shattered when the boy says

"The other kids say it's shower time, but I don't want to take a shower"

  • We must never forget the atrocities of the Nazi Party. We must never have another Holocaust.

  • @ODST14 Hitler and his entire party are rotting in the pits of hell but every member who tried to help out in the July 20 plot in order to bring them down are resting in heaven unlike that bastard Hitler killed himself and he never faced justice thanks to Stalins actions he ended the Nazis

  • @ODST14 but a bigger threat emerged later on the USA vs. USSR but JFK, Reagan ended the tensions

  • @joah45 True.

  • when i first saw this i was hoping that the dad shot the soldier and u just didnt know... nope :((

  • Beautiful movie about true love and faith.

  • I hope everyone in the U.S. does themselves a favor and someday visits the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. It's a life-changing experience! You'll never regret going.

  • i hope to marry someone like guido....

  • i watched this movie in my italian class and i think its amazing how they can take a very serious and tragic event and make it a comical movie i absolutly love this movie

  • i hope all those nazis burn in hell for what they did

  • Such a wonderful movie. I had a Jewish-American Literature professor who hated this movie. Come on, wouldn't you do anything for your kids?

  • @jillianmford i think it is unquestionable that what he does is extremely noble, i think he hates the movie, because it is a less tan accurate portrayal of the horror that was the holocaust, and this movie tries to steer away from that

  • thrills :)

  • It gets to me every time...

  • I cried at the end. Guess life really is beautiful. <3

  • @AllSongsInWorld NO! Life's a bitch and then you die.

  • @AllSongsInWorld

    are you a hippie?

  • *cries* a beautiful movie indeed! :) I love it...

  • I cry every time:(

  • @xTnT87 I do have common sense thank youu very much hunny.

  • "This is my story.

This is the sacrifice my father made.

This was his gift to me."

To know that no matter how hard life can be, you can always make it beautiful.

  • I saw this movie in a cinema in germany. This was the first time in my life, i saw people after the end of the movie did't move. there was an absoute silence. the credits ran down, and nobody was moving. One of the gratest movies ever.

  • that is just an amazing father.

  • watching this film from start to finish, i found it at times comical, and do question accuracy in terms of life in concentration camps, i believe most people as they watch this do not know if it is okay to laugh, it is a very touch and deep subject. knowing Guado, i expected him to make some kind of comical escape in the guards uniform, but it was not until i heard the gun that reality set in and i was speechless, but its not meant to be a tale of happiness, it is a powerful and moving film.

  • @Jawwanaman1 Yo I saw It in my English class 2

  • all those lives,i am truly proud of my grandmother who helped english and canadian soldiers during ww2!god bless her in heaven!!!!!!!thanks to her and many others who are brave enough our land is free!!!!!

  • If you enjoyed this movie, try Kusturica's "Train de vie"...

they're similar in the subject and they give you the same contraxt

    of feelings.

Train de vie is a very good movie too,

however La vita è bella is simply wonderful (my opinion).

BENIGNI makes me proud of beeing human, before beeing italian...

    GRAZIE!

  • I saw this in English class but i was absent the last day of the movie. I didn't think Guido would die, but he died like a MOFU Badass, he turned the Halacaust into a game. Damn good movie.

  • yes, you won!!!!!!!

  • @alicia1katie I watched this language arts class too but I skipped to the end I lo Ed this so much

  • @michael50694 Mee toooo!!.

  • OMG, we watched this in Language Arts and everyone is like crying. I feel so bad for the little boy, I hope he understands, when he is older, what had happened in his childhood.

  • @alicia1katie It's a fukin movie.. WOW. common sense?
