It might make you more mindful and thoughtful, it may even make your body create more brain cells, but I think people can be enlightened in many other ways too. If nature is so cool, then why not learn about it? Sitting around smoking pot all day and nothing else isn't really the most fruitful life. I've done it, it gets depressing and empty.
