Been riding for 30 years. I been having my Goldwing for 2 years and I know the limits that I can push it to but holding close or crossing the the double yellow can produce bad results. In my experience stay off the paint is not pavment, it can trick you up it when you got to make a serious correction for someone coming the other way close. Dry or wet
@kc5hgv Thanks for your comment, I've been riding 40 years. Been riding the Dragon for 15 years, wet and dry, long before it became a famous stretch of road back when the speed limit there was 55. Rode it the first time on a 74' CB 750. Rode it for 10 years on a Valkyrie back and forth probably 30 or 40 times, last 3 years on a Goldwing, back and forth probably a dozen times on it. I've met cars, trucks AND motorcycles IN MY LANE many times. I know the road I know my limits and the bikes limits.
Please don't give me a hard time for crossin' the center line a few times, I've been riding for over 40 years and have had only one minor accident. I've put over 155,000 miles on two seperate bikes in the last 12 years riding in the North Georgia mountains and communting to work in Atlanta traffic! Check out my "Crusin' the Cherohala" and my "Extreem Valkyrie" video where I'm ridin' a lot faster than the Deals Gap vid, then let me know what you think. Let's go for a ride, I'd like that!!!

Besides, you make the point for me... you have all these miles on twisty roads... one would think you would know how to ride them safely for yourself and others. thx fast07dyna, it wasn't as close as it looked on the vid. What you don't see is that he was half way across the road as he exited the corner then his passengers yelled at me as I went by??? I told my ridding buddy who was behind me that I was sure my tires were on my side of the road!!! Not much else tho!!!
