Can anybody tells me a car that does not have a plastic black air vent on the dash ? its strange that the horizontal ugly plastic air vent has never changed since the invention of cars and they put it in the center .
Lincoln MKX ===Before you buy, test the automatic climate control!! When set at 70 and is cold outside - temp inside will rise to 80--if hot outside and set to 70- will not cool below 80!! no fix in site...
Beware of the dual climate control air conditioner, the regional rep stated the 2010 system will not be improved, the automatic mode system does not allow sufficient cooling when the ambient temp inside the vehicle is 80 degrees or less. The comfort must be attained by switching to manual and increasing the fan speed and dropping the temp to 60 for max cooling also changing the air to recirculate. This is lots of steps for such an expensive vehicle.

@mrmcracken9887 I agree. The way that the Lincolns look up front this generation are kind of rubbish. I'm not sure if the Lincoln brand benefits from all this badge engineering as it is. Besides the equipment and interior it really seems like there's not too much incentive not to get the Ford version (and Ford's cars have been getting better). As Ford moves to a One Ford model, Lincoln should be the place where all the American designs (Fusion, et al) are retained.
@Jefford717 I'm looking at the AWD - problem solved. There are plenty of turbocharged FWD cars that don't exhibit torquesteer; you must be thinking of cars before the 21st Century hit; lot of improvements since then.
Waffleater: The Ford Edge does not compete with the POS Honda CRV and Toyota RAV$. Those are small SUVs that compete with the Ford Escape you idiot. The Lincoln MKX and Ford Edge are akin to the Nissan Murano and Toyota Highlander: get a clue b4 you post and make an ass out of your self.
People like fp are still stuck in the 20th Century. Times have changed and Lincoln obviously surveys the public b4 designing thinks liek the Touch system. It was co-developed w/ Microsoft and if it were up to you, then cars would all still have casette players and giant knobs like in the Chevys built in the mid 80s. This crossover will be a huge success in tandem with a remodeled Ford Edge - fps (below) is a moron.
Personally, if I am in the middle of driving I would NEVER want to fuss with a touch screen dash, and the sliding functions. I want to be able to push a button, not have to worry about whether I moved it right, or pressed the correct button. This...like the other Lincolns will fail. And it's a shame. It's not a bad car.
Suddenly this car is a player. Has anybody else noticed how upscale Lincoln has gone with it's interiors? I like this upgrade on the outside and inside...this Lincoln deserves consideration from everybody looking at luxury cross-overs.
They really did a great job with the interior. The only thing I see wrong is that they should have reinvented the gear shift. Take it off the floor console and place it on the dash as a low profile knob that you turn. The center of the gear knob would house a gear display/start button.

It looks nice on the outside, this is probably the best Lincoln grill.
I also like the interior, but it really doesn't look luxurious enough. They want to take on the Audi Q5, Cadillac SRX, Volvo XC60, MB GLK, Lexus RX but the interior doesn't look nice enough.
I can't wait to see what the Ford Edge will look like because it will probably be the exact same. Good thing for Ford (this is much better than a CRV or RAV4) but not good for Lincoln...

I never said I hated Lincoln. I said this car and its Lincoln siblings are ugly, which they are.
The 3.7L (as found in the 2011 Mustang) is used, because no one wants to fill an EcoBoost with premium fuel. Many other parts are shared between the MKX and other Fords.
Pricing has not been released, but if Lincoln is asking for a similar MSRP jump as the MKS is to the Taurus, the MKX will undoubtedly be overpriced. A MKS starts at $38k so I doubt this will start at $36k as you inanely suggest.
I typically prefer newer designed models, the look of progression. However in this instance , I think i prefer the prev models 'art deco' era lincoln look, very old school conti look up front if you will. But the interior improvements are simply amazing.

I love this new MKX, Lincoln (Ford) have they really finally got an understanding of what a buyer wants...It seems like they are way out in front of GM and Chrysler. Kudos, Lincoln (Ford)
I wonder if there's gonna be a way to calibrate the sensitivity of the volume and fan speed touch controls, that seems like it could work miraculously or horribly. I like everything else though, good changes
I absolutely love this car. It's my dream to own one. :)
