My neighbour used to have a dog like that. He seemed to understand so much of what I was telling him or wanted him to do. At first, he was barking at me and misbehaved in my presence, but after I gave him meat once in a while, he became friendly. He made a point to run to me every time to salute me. Once, I refused to touch him, and he insisted on me doing it. He looked so sad and shocked I refused to do so. He seemed to wonder what the heck the problem was with me.
