When I was a youngun, like 8 years old, my ma said this movie got tits in it and I took this video in my room, put in in the VCR, and fast forwarded to this part and paused it to see that topless chick. Let's not get into what happened next.

I have no idea how this was inserted into the film. It'd be one thing if it was in every print, but that's just the thing----it isn't. It's in some but not others. There are only two possibilities I can think of---either the cameraman was in on the joke and actually shot this sequence twice---once normally and then again with the photo pasted over that window back there, or some very weird person in the film lab carefully inserted that photo into select prints somewhere in post-production.

It would have been seen by the film lab people, the Technicolor people, and the directors who would have to review all the footage that Technicolor delivered to them. Nope, this really is The Rescuers, not The Rescuers Down Under. When you view the two side by side you'll never get them mixed up. The two films' visual styles are very different.

I remember a while back seeing a woman on television who was part of the 'assembly line' at Walt Disney Productions that painted image plates for cartoons. This was long before computers were used. Each worker made specific brush strokes until the line's end was reached and they move on to the next plate. If you were falling behind in production, you would get a slap on the hand.
It was in two frames only. You had to watch it frame by frame to see it. Walt Disney recalled 3 million copies of the movie to keep their family friendly image. It is thought the image was inserted in post production. This is not fake.

erm, not sure if this is somewhere in the 774 comments, but this scene is from the -sequel- to The Rescuers, called Rescuers Down Under, released in 1990. only caught my attention cos it's one of my favourite disney movies :)

Looking at it a couple of times, it might be some kind of native/indigenous woman. She kind of looks Indonesian.
I remember a while back seeing a woman on television who was part of the 'assembly line' at Walt Disney Productions that painted image plates for cartoons. This was long before computers were used. Each worker made specific brush strokes until the line's end was reached and they move on to the next plate. If you were falling behind in production, you would get a slap on the hand.

It was in two frames only. You had to watch it frame by frame to see it. Walt Disney recalled 3 million copies of the movie to keep their family friendly image. It is thought the image was inserted in post production. This is not fake.

If I were a child watching this... the first thing I would do would be demand my mother slow motioned it so I could investiagte the questionable image that had just flashed at 60mph before my eyes.
