I just got the book "Loving What Is" and Katie is EXACTLY the humourous woman as in the conversasions in the book! She's a sincere and kind person, if you see through the sarcasm.
I'm glad Byron Katie got tough on this lady for a bit. But I think she should address a difference between emotional and physical pain. If you get clipped at the knee in a football game, it hurts for real. It ain't all just in the mind.
Pain is not real? try watching a 20 year old girl who just lost her best friend in a tragic accident, or the parents of a baby who just died. Their pain is real. Denial of the truth does not make it any less real. The real truth is that there is something wrong with human nature. Look around and smell the stench of sin and death. This is just another attempt to package the narcissistic labyrinth of self centeredness.
thats exactly what i was thinking Bzel!! there is something wrong with this lady, it's called sin, it's called being far away from God. it's emptiness, and guilt. she's unwhole because she doesn't have the spirit of lord in her.
She is so amazingly beautiful. She walks her talk. She is so real, such a gift if you are open to it, to yourself. She shares her gift so graciously and lovingly with everyone. Amazing how life changes if you are open to it, to doing the work on yourself.
First off I don't know what you mean by "react". How does any one react when they think a thought. I really don't know what you mean or I would try to answer your question. What I mean is delving into a problem like this only serves to re-enforce that it is a "real" problem which it is not it is just in her head. This is why she has trouble comming up with details about it when probbed. Our own brain and it's habitual and negative thinking and roll playing is the real culprit.
If you go to The Work website, you'll find a tab called Resources. You can download worksheets. "React" has a bunch of sub-questions: How do you feel when you think that?...When did you first think that?...What addictions crop up?...How do you treat yourself?...Treat others?...The Work isn't as simplistic as it can seem. It's really a brilliant distillation of many psychotherapeutic modalities.
I don't like this approach at all. I think Eckhart Tolle helps many more people more completely. From the inside out. This women clings to this identity to get attention. I think she should free herself of this Identity she would be much happier. Before you give me the thumbs down remember it is just my opinion.
Hi thank you for sharing your opinion I too think Eckhart Tolle is life changing!!
I highly recommend listening to the "Loving What Is" CD set in it's entirety or better yet go to see her in person. In my own experience of listening to her CD set, at first I was like "What is she talking about," some of her ideas are so radical but I could not deny her loving, healing pure spirit so I stuck with and and... WOW!! Transformation & Freedom. Listening is awesome but applying it = FREEDOM!! Be Well
Wow,good one. I love the quote by Katie that "to hold a belief you have to continue to proove it over and over and over." So all of the negative things we say about ourselves we are actually striving to make true by continueing to believe those thoughts.
Great video, well said and understandable staright to the point. Content of video couldn't be done better. keep up the great work.
