@ChaosDemon2 I'm with you buddy, I loved this game. Met a couple of real-life ex Mercs and diamond smugglers, from Equatorial Guinea, Rhodesia and Angola, about a year after playing this game. And boy some of the stories, fucking hell!!! Talked about Free-town and all. now I've got quite a few Sth African and White Rhodesian friends. This game, along with Blood Diamond, Tears of the Sun and Hotel Rawanda really made me sit up and take notice of Africa. No other video game has had that power.
yeah i agree with a lot of the people on here. I just didn't get this game it has good reviews but it's just a really bad game. You have to drive ridiculously large distances to each mission . The map interface is really awkward making the drive even more annoying. Just didn't get it
it's good the thing I hate is the save system that fucks you over if you don't save often and too much driving and random attacks, otherwise I'm having fun with it. game tip: if you are getting chased go offroad the AI is terrible at driving so you can evade those assholes pretty easily.
looks like the next game will have better voice actors, that understand what a period is for. every dialogue in this is just one sentence. but the gameplay is pretty damn fun despite the driving.
I have this for PC, and yeah it looks way better and smoother than consoles but still I get bored in the story mode. I just play the multiplayer mode which is better and tons of maps and mod maps XD
It's not the driving that makes people disappointed with this game, I think. I actually enjoy taking a cruise through the jungles and savannas in this game. It's when you get stopped by a checkpoint or a patrol technical that pisses people off. It happens way too frequently. I think checkpoints should be guarded only one time like the safehouses and the locations should only have enemies when it's part of your objective. The game would be better then, in my opinion.
i traded this in and all i can remember were enemies constantly attacking you no matter where you went. it got fucking annoying. instead of doing that, why not populate the map with more wildlife/ things to do and have unsafe/ safe zones or something?

The Only bad part of tis game is all the driving, but other then that it was great. The only thing I would add a kind of oblivion style of fast travel to safehouses
Why is everyone hating on this game? Its really not that much of a pain to drive around. I mean this game is great besides that. But if you can grow a pair and stop bitching about the travel, this game is amazing! I mean sure the outposts respawn enemies too quick but every game has major flaws. And besides, you play an open world game and you don't expect extensive travel? Your fault. This game was one of the most emmersive games i've played to date.

@TheRoyalBreton I personally liked the travel. And it has the only viable story that still takes place today.....Mercs, blood money and millions of African people suffering. It was a beautiful game and in my top 20 favs of all time.
Far Cry 2 makes me mental! No where has a game which is sandbox ever had such a poor enemy environment. No mention that road blocks and enemies respawn after you go 50 meters away from them? That the enemie always cach up to you even if you drive the fastest viechle in the game? That you can sit in a bush, at night, one click away from a guard post and one guy can see you and nail you with perfect accuracy with a Ak 47? And that all the other enemies home in on your exact location even tho there is no way in hell they are able to know where you are? Still a fun game tho.

playing with pc can be a real pain, game don't start and so on unless you equip your pc with expensive stuff, I stopped playing with the pc, I got my games on console right now and is much more easier, no bug, no viruses, in fact, no problems at all to start any games you wanna play... And you can play multiplayers games online with consoles as well, so what can I say? All is perfect with console, they can even replace it if it breaks...
Looks pretty good to me! I'll admit that PC have the most horsepower, has the best graphics, and very good controls for FPS games with the mouse. Although, I actually like to play on my ps3 more than my pc, and my pc is pretty high-end. It isn't very awesome, but it manages to play any game I've ever played with NO lag what so every etc.

I bought far cry 2.. It was pretty dull and repetetive, but it was for sure medicore game.. 5,5/10 maybe.. The ending was really fucked since the game is over after the ending so you'll have to restart the whole game from scratch in order to play.
This is a long game i will give it that. It also has great background and great potential. i will give it that too. But it's way too repetitive and driving takes more time than killing

This game does something that gets right on my nerves.
As soon as you finish the campaign, thats it...No more gameplay. Fallout 3 did it aswell.
Its like the developers think....Surely they don't want to get to 100% completion. Lets end it here...
Luckily i always keep 2 savegames and save alternatively. So it was only a problem for my first playthrough.

playing with pc can be a real pain, game don't start and so on unless you equip your pc with expensive stuff, I stopped playing with the pc, I got my games on console right now and is much more easier, no bug, no viruses, in fact, no problems at all to start any games you wanna play... And you can play multiplayers games online with consoles as well, so what can I say? All is perfect with console, they can even replace it if it breaks...

Looks pretty good to me! I'll admit that PC have the most horsepower, has the best graphics, and very good controls for FPS games with the mouse. Although, I actually like to play on my ps3 more than my pc, and my pc is pretty high-end. It isn't very awesome, but it manages to play any game I've ever played with NO lag what so every etc.

@bleachangel8 pretty much up to you? i hate it when people ask shit like this. read the reviews and decide yourself. we know nothing about what you like or dislike and the 2 games a very different. do you like having a squad to help you or do you preffer an open world? cover based combat or run and gun? what do you like more, medium rare stake or a chocolate cake? people here will give you their oppinions as a "this or that" answer. dont ask people to make up your mind for you.

I bought far cry 2.. It was pretty dull and repetetive, but it was for sure medicore game.. 5,5/10 maybe.. The ending was really fucked since the game is over after the ending so you'll have to restart the whole game from scratch in order to play.
I'm gonna buy FO: NV instead and sell Far cry 2.
